He said "he was certain" former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction prior to the 2003 Invasion, not that "Iraq Had WMD Before U.S. Invaded."

Now, I would be happy if he had stupidly said the latter, but he didn't. The headline would've been better written: "Thompson certain Iraq had WMD before U.S. Invasion", cause then we could get our claws into this.

I think Thompson is a dud among duds, but let's be sure that we flavour the teaser the way it should be on the top page.

The defector was in German hands, and was never interviewed by the Americans before the invasion. The Germans had warned that Curveball was making up most of the story. He had never worked in the biological program; he'd been a taxi driver before heading to Germany to seek asylum. There were no mobile labs.

Bush hyped the terrorist threat as a means of winning political support, and talked of the war as an clear and present danger to the very existence of the United States.

The aluminum tubes were known to be not the type used for enriching uranium, the Yellow Cake plutonium documents were forgeries, and the Prague meeting with Atta never happened.
