Gwyneth Hits The Road In Spain With Mario Batali

Gwyneth Paltrow, acclaimed chef Mario Batali and New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman are embarking on a road trip that boasts slick cars, hearty food and a candid camera monitoring the flashy travelers.

Paltrow, the duo of American food gurus and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols announced their journey, which will be captured in a 13-part TV series, "Spain ... on the road again."

The series, which is designed to give viewers a closer look at Spain's cuisine, wine, culture and nightlife, will air on PBS next fall. Organizers are negotiating with broadcasters in Spain and Latin America.

What the hell is Gwyneth Paltrow doing in this crowd? It would be like taking a tour of the moon with Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell, and...Teri Hatcher. Or discussing the origins of the universe with Stephen Hawking, Walter Alvarez...­and Jessica Simpson. Or law with Chief Justic John Roberts, Alan Dershwitz.­..and Rachael Ray. No doubt Batali's New York haunts are top-notch, Paltrow (aka. "our golden child of independent film") and Bittman will be a fun watch for American connoisseurs.

Mario Batali is a Culinary GOD. Not to mention 2005 James Beard Outstanding Chef of the Year, and owning 2 of the best restaurants in New York. He's brilliant, and tremendously entartaining. I would watch him in ANYTHING. Get a Life.

Bittman and Batali are the most unpleasant food duo I've ever encountered. Witness them paired together on "The Best Recipes in the World" and watch them behaving like 14-year olds. Spare me. Now pair them with Paltrow and they'll behave like 14-year olds with hardons. Spare me. I'll pass thanks.
