Washington Times:

Elizabeth Edwards had some harsh words today for her husband's 2004 running mate.

Mrs. Edwards, married to former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.), said she was "very disappointed" Sen. John Kerry conceded the last presidential race so quickly.

"I was very disappointed, not just because we did not count the votes, but because we promised people that if they stood in line and fought for the right to vote, that we would fight with them," Mrs. Edwards told Richard Green, the host of "Clout" on Air America Radio.

"And I was very disappointed that the decision was made by the campaign, over John's objection, not to fight," she added.

Does John Edwards ever speak for himself anymore?

What's up, you democrat, sissy boys, need the old lady to carry your banner. Wow, punks to the bone.

I gotta agree. It's like the Beaver's Mom walking into a packed home room and telling Eddie Haskell to quit shovin' the Beav in the halls between classes. Imagine her as first lady!

You trolls are the pantywastes here.

A real man or natural woman doesn't need a power figure like big Fred, just to feel safe and leave mom's basement. The war of terror that you want to believe in is just a ploy, working on your fear and self-loathing, silly man-children!

But Poor Rush LimpDick really wanted to join the army to fight the Commies in 'nam.

But alas, a tiny butt pimple kept him from being a war hero!

Dang I hate it when Dems come to these insightful conclusions l-o-o-o-n-n-n-n-g-g-g-g-g-g after the fact....Excuse me, Ms. Edwards, but some of us were thinking this about Kerry THE DAY HE CONCEDED!!

Can't somebody once on the Democratic side figure this stuff out beforehand or at least contemporaneously and hopefully counsel our side not to make these stupid blunders? The Rethugs manage to do that on every issue.

Kerry was the inside man for the republiklan party. I remember how his rise to the top started, with that so-called DEAN HOLLOWING INCIDENT. THE PAID FOR MEDIA KEPT PLAYING IT, THEY EVEN TOOK THE SOUND OF THE ORDIANCE OUT (they were cheering with him). I kept saying who cares this ain't shit. But the MSM KEPT PLAYING THE SAME SHIT OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Primary election comes, Kerry jumps to the top. They told us Dean lost the lead because he hollowed. BULLSHIT!!!!

Kerry told us, we have lawyers ready to fight any voting problem we may have, we will fight that every vote is counted. On night of the election in Ohio, their were many problems 10 to 11 hour lines too few voting machines, caging, police intimidation, people turned around. Not just in Ohio either, in a lot of states.

Then the results come in, Edwards take the podium vowing to keep fighting until every vote is counted. A few minutes later, the republiklan shull and bones plant KERRY TAKES THE PODIUM AND CONCEDES.

Later, maybe a week later congress members, plead like they did in 2000 (as in infarenheit 9-11),for just one Senator to stand up and start an investigation of the voting irregularities. KERRY HAD LEFT TOWN. Senator Boxer was the only one to standup!

Elizabeth Edwards is right!! I really admire both of them.

you are one stupid liberal. The only voting "problems" were that your stoned p diddy base sat on their asses and weren't worried about dying if they didn't vote. Sucking on their bongs and bloviating about chomsky. You lost, that's all. Oh, and don't count on 2008 too soon....remember....if hillary's your nominee....landslide for the GOP.

Oh Lordy, there goes Elizabeth again!

Her husband did a big fat nothing in his six years in the Senate, except to lead the rest of the Dems into the Iraq war.

Of course he didn't want to concede! He'd virtually lost his Senate seat years before with his say-one-thing-do-another approach to politics. His popularity in his home state - well, the 04 election said it all. And he desperately wanted (and still wants) to be in the White House.

If Edwards had done even a fraction of all that John Kerry did in his first six years in the Senate, he might have more support for this, his latest campaign for president.

I believe the votes in 2000 and 2004 were counted and recounted and recounted and recounted and recounted and Bush won.

If both elections were rigged, why did the Democrats do so well in the last election?

And why did Bigfoot step on the Twin Towers?

Your brilliance is astounding -republiclown? right. Thought so... let's see- you also think Bush 43 is a bright man and Cheney isn't corrupt- got it.

Republiclown indeed!

Don't count that Neo-Klan bastard with us! He's just something we scraped off the street and shoved iinto a viting booth.

They didn't count the 76,000 black voters illegally placed on the felon's list. The votes of the democratic troops in the military were not counted because of CAGING. All this done by REPUBLIKLANS.

The republiklan crimnal thugs crashing the count stopped it. The suspectsupreme court stopped the count. Therefore you can't count.

Right now, the best possible team would be Edwards/Obama on a populist platform.

I would be happy to go into detail on why I am convinced that this exciting and winning team would best serve America's needs. Just ask me.

You have to win the primary to be on any "ticket"! Right now these two have a one way ticket back home as Hillary steamrolls her way to the nomination!!!

The only way that's gonna happen is if Republicans vote in the Democratic primaries, like they always do, in order to make sure the controversial ones get the nomination. Why not bar people from voting outside their party affiliation?? ;)

Edwards is a dick and his staff in early primary states go to local activist meetings, not to promote Edwards, but to talk bad about all the other candidates. Esp Obama. I do not get why people think they could get along as Pres/VP.

Kerry promised that every vote would be counted and just rolled over and conceded. Why did Kerry give up so soon?; did the Bush/Rovian team have something embarrassing on Kerry to make him back down?

I am voting for John Edwards because Hillary is a hawk and Obama doesn't have enough Washington D.C. policy experience to make 'legitimate' sound judgments.

Kerry and Gore (as much as I love him) did roll over and allowed the Republicans not only trample all over THEM but, more importantly, over US. Conceding the elections to a bunch of thieves, crooks, and liars was not simply a personal decision affecting them, but a decision that sealed the fate of the American people and set in motion the cascade of events that led to the invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation. Because of Gore's and Kerry's easy capitulation, this country has now become everything we once professed to hate. We are invaders, occupiers, torturers, bigots, and imperialists. Elizabeth Edwards is absolutely correct. And Hillary would have fought the thieves tooth and nail. So why is it a bad thing if Hillary is "ambitious"?

Precisly my sentiments! Hillary is more 'macho' than all of these "men" put together and has been fighting back the right wing slime machine for 15 years! She is going to kick some serious fascist butt!!!

For all you Edwards haters please go Cheney yourself.I'm sure you would like nothing else then a repeat of the last 8 years. That is how Nazism started. She is right that he has no moral right to criticize any service person since he chickened out. Like most of the Republican party. It's great as long as someone else is doing the fighting. I respect Ms. Edwards more than most of the posters here. If you want to keep the same politics going then vote for Hillary. If you want change then vote for Edwards. He is the only one that can and will change the course of this country. But of course I guess you would rather sit in front of the Faux infotainment noise machine and find out the latest on Britney. Please people read outside the MSM for a change. And stop all this hating it's wrong and unchristian if you consider yourself one.

The Edwards camp needs to stop this hyperbole. Everytime I think I might get past his negatives and support the man, up pops some Ed Head with this kind of talk. This person is saying if you don't like Edwards you are wanting repeat of Bush and are helping lay the groudwork for Nazism! But this person does not make one statement about the positive attributes of John Edwards. Just more name calling.
I'd like to hear why this person like Edwards, not how much this person hates Hillary, or the various characterizations of those who may not support Edwards.
This is a primary election, and anyone who is going to tear my vote away from Dennis Kucinich is going to have to earn that vote. Got it? Stamping on the ground and calling people names is not going to change my mind. Did Mudcat tell you that it would? It won't.
Expalin Mr Edwards earger co-sponsoring of the Iraq Resolution for his pal Leiberman. Explain why he carreis atavistic attitudes toward gay people. Explain why a man already very wealthy would choose to work for a hedge fund for more money?
There are many things Ed Heads could do to promote their candidate, but they don't do them. Instead they get pissed off that he is not being handed the nom with nary a question.
He might win it if his backers would wise up.

"Macho".... doesn't equal "shut the fuck up, bring me another beer, and then get back in the kitchen where you belong"

I guess we are back to the "stolen election" talking point. That's what is so annoying about democrats, from here on out, every time they lose an election they are going to claim it was stolen from them.

No class.

You weren't in Ohio for that vote supervised by Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell who was also Bush's reelection Ohio co-chair.

5 hour long lines, broken machines, no provisional ballots as required, vote challengers intimidating voters, mostly targeting Democratic districts. Exit polls showed Kerry winning difinitively.

We Ohians were disinfranchised and Kerry thought 110,000 vote difference was too much to challenge. No one could have known all the ways Ohio was stripped of its right to tamperfree election.

John Edwards would have done the research and not conceded until he got to the bottom of this travesty. Thank God we have a fighter in the ranks.

"John Edwards would have done the research and not conceded until he got to the bottom of this travesty. Thank God we have a fighter in the ranks."

He was Kerry's VP. Why didn't he take his shoe off and bang on the table about a recount. Bush won fair & square in '04 just like he did in 2000. Sadly democrats cannot admit defeat.

JFK spins in his grave.

Your request that we stop bringing up recent history might be credible if the GOP could stop blaming Clinton for everything (His presidency ended 6 years ago; grow up and take responsibility for your president fucking up everything in that time) and whining about Kennedy killing a woman. That was 37 years ago! How does that affect anything today?

But you, you're tired of hearing about stolen elections, not because you don't believe they were stolen but because you're happy with the results and have shut off your conscience or any consideration of what this means for the country.
