Chicago Sun-Times:

At a suburban Chicago community college, Republican Rudy Giuliani campaigned Thursday as if the primary elections were over and his only opponent for president was Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Giuliani, speaking at the College of DuPage, repeatedly slammed "HillaryCare" as "socialized medicine" and accused the Democratic frontrunner of supporting "socialism" for her proposal to give every American $5,000 when they are born as a college account.

Socialized medicine? Bring it on. The mess we have now is useless. Until we start get serious about something along the lines of Kucinich's plan, I'm barely listening to the debate. Privatized healthcare doesn't work, we all know it. Only the rich and the folks under the spell of the Fox News hypno-toad have the gall to say otherwise.

Even Hilary Clinton's proposals are enough to freak out all the healthcare middlemen. WTF! Want to fix health care? Here's an idea, end this money-wasting, life-wasting war now.

Socialism is state ownership of capital. Very few American liberals actually believe in that. Indeed very few European countries are actually socialist by that definition. Even Sweden doesn't actually qualify as a socialist economy. Most European countries are social democracies which is completely different.

Repubs are the biggest socialists ever - you've spent more government money than ever in history. You just like to give it to greedy rich people and use it kill people you don't understand or tolerate.

Bill Maher is probably correct, Clinton's program is for the corporations and not the people.

It's sick to have to fight with the insurance companies whether one should receive healthcare or not and I'd say immoral system.

Ehrlichman : "We have now narrowed down the vice president's problems on this thing to one issue, and that is whether we should include these Health Maintenance Organizations like Edgar Kaiser's Permenente thing." President Nixon : "Let me ask you, you know I'm not too keen on any of these damn medical programs." Ehrlichman : " This is a private enterprise one." Nixon : "Well, that appeals to me." Ehrlichman : " Edgar Kaiser is running this permanente thing for profit. And the reason he can do it... I had Edgar Kaiser come in, and talk to me about this... And I went into some depth... All the incentives are toward less medical care, because the less care they give them, the more money they make." Nixon : "Fine." Ehrlichman : " And the incentives run the right way." Nixon : "Not bad."

Now I'm certain that Rudy has Alzheimers and he hasn't been to church for a long, long time!

Any Catholic can tell you or should be able to tell you that Jesus was the first socialist...

If "Giving your money to the poor" isn't socialism I don't know what is.

There is a BIG difference between a charitable contribution or a tithe and State sponsored re-distribution of wealth. Any Catholic can tell you that!

Well rudy what do you say to the socialist education you received from public school?

Or the socialist entitlements you hope to receive as president?

Pure Capitalism leads to pure greed.

Pure socialism can lead top laziness, it must be done carefully, but unsuprisingly, the rich are never interested in even thinking about it.

Socialism is an absolute necessity for health and education in this rapidly exapnding/shrinking global village.

TO not do so is not just short-sighted but considering the health risks, suicidal.

I am so damn sick and tired of Rudy Giuliani using the jingoistic term "socialism". He is beginning to sound like former Sen Joseph McCarthy.

Government needs to get more involved in our miserably failed embarrassing and cruel US health Care system.

If that is the best that Giuliani can do may god and the voting public spare us from his weak leadership.

Jingoism died many years ago. We don't need Giuliani to resurrect it.

I've had it with this superficial candidate and will send this post to my long list of political leaders.

Senate OKs $459 billion Pentagon spending plan
Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Oct 04 3:31 AMBy ANDREW TAYLOR WASHINGTON --

The Senate passed a $459 billion budget for the Pentagon on Wednesday, after adding almost $4 billion to try to gain control over the U.S. border with Mexico. The spending bill, passed by voice vote, does not include President Bush's almost $190 billion request for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. It does, however, award the Pentagon a 10 percent ...

$459 Billion for the useless Iraq War but not one red cent for US Childrens Health?

It is socialism; and he should slam her.

Using the Government via the IRS to force people to give the money their earned, or go to jail, to then pay politicians, squander the money, and then eventually give it to their neighbor is socialism.
