Folio:

For its October issue--the "First Annual Figure Flattery" issue--Glamour put America Ferrera, star of ABC's Ugly Betty, on its cover. For Jezebel, Gawker Media's "girlie blog," it was bit too much "figure flattery." The site ran a post under the headline "Photoshop of Horrors" juxtaposing Glamour's cover with a photo of Ferrera at the Emmy Awards the same week the magazine hit newsstands. (The apparent slimming recalled a similar incident in which CBS's in-house magazine trimmed Katie Couric by about three sizes.)

A Glamour spokesperson denies any such trimming. "America was shot for the cover in June, and as she says in the article, she's a size 6/8. There was no slimming done to the cover."

I am going to be in my sister's wedding at the end of the month. I've already asked her to PhotoShop me down to a size 6 in the pictures if she could.

Why won't we buy pictures of our neighbors on the cover? It's an interesting question and one that should be researched more. When we can get people to get past "form" and into "content" we will have a much better country.

Face all of them, and I do mean ALL, have either been seriously PhotoShopped or had help from their local and extremely private cosmetic surgeon.

This really is a case of "everybody does it"

The folks at Glamour have got to be out of their minds if they think no one can recognize how blatantly Photoshop'd that cover is. Ferrara isn't some scrawny model who fluctuates in size based on whether she ate something that day or a renowned yo-yo dieter. Ridiculous.

America is obssessed with being thin! It's about the bottom line. We are not going to buy magazines with actresses in their natural form: size, not-so-clear complexion and other imperfections.

Yes, sometimes photoshopping is taken a bit too far. However, we like fantasy, not real life. If we wanted real, most of us and our next door neighbors would be on the cover. Do we really want to see THAT on a magazine cover?

Her head is too large for her body. It's as if that put her head on someone else's body

Saw this on the newstand and was really dissappointed. THis is the woman who became famous with her role as Ana Garcia in "Real Women Have Curves". She was so beautiful in that movie and I bleive a little bigger than now. THis can't make her feel good. If she had to loose the weight whe would have ; she's getting roles as she is and that's beautiful.
