Deadline Hollywood Daily:

This comes to me from three different producers, so I know it's real: Warner Bros president of production Jeff Robinov has made a new decree that "We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead". This Neanderthal thinking comes after both Jodie Foster's The Brave One (even though she's had big recent hits with Flightplan and Panic Room) and Nicole Kidman's The Invasion (as if three different directors didn't have something to do with the awfulness of the gross receipts) under-performed at the box office recently. "Can you imagine when Gloria Allred gets hold of this? It's going to be like World War III," one producer just told me. (I put in a call to Glo, who comments below.)

OH, boy...I am about to tell my husband that we will no longer attend WB movies...at least not until this stupid, ill-informed, sexist jerk is no longer at the helm.

I don't think Nicole Kidman or Jodie Foster are going to be teary eyed over this. They're such good actresses that they'll have no problem getting work at other studios with much better scripts too. Of course, these actresses chose to appear in their last few flops. They read the lousy scripts and accepted them so they need to do better at choosing their work too.

This guy needs to be left all alone, without having a female lead for quite some time, so, as his own male lead, he can jerk himself off, to his heart's content. Maybe he can film it too, and try and sell it at the box office. With decree's like this, he's coming across like he's a dumb enough jerk anyway. Pathetic soul, sounds like some leading lady, walked out on his self prepared hard on, and he felt that it was too much for him to bare.

the movie "Barefoot and Pregnant" starring
Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell as a gay
couple having a baby.

IF JODIE FOSTER & NICOLE KIDMAN
came out of the closet...

THEN maybe we would find them more interesting.

Because right now they are both boring as hell!

Well that goes along with the Ann Coulter , GOP , religious Rights latest whine that "Women should not be allowed to vote". Lets take them out of the board room, off of lead rolls in movies, and more. Women shouldnt be barefoot , naked, in the kitchen, and pregnant!

They want to make sure that only rednecks and warpig , greed driven Neanderthals are allowed to have any position of power.

Kind of shows us that women are doing such a good job, the insecure religious right wing is fearful of losing its grip on power and control.

You GO Girls!!

Ann Coulter: The anti-feminist feminist. She takes advantage of every right feminists have won for women over the years (e.g. the right to an education, employment, to speak in public, etc.) and then has the nerve to use it to bash us.

I'd rather not have Gloria Allred here. She's quite an annoying woman...

There has to be a less obnoxious civil rights attorney out there....

She's always chasing the ambulance or police car with the celebrity in the back. When I saw her on Larry King representing Britney's bodyguard, trying to make this guy news, you could see how desperate she is to prove to anyone she's doing something notable and valid. CNN must have her on the payroll.

Right. I no longer have any use for a Warner Bros. movie. Period. Yes, I'll miss some but as my father always taught me, never cross the picket line. I've drawn my line and I won't be crossing it until this company gets a clue. The powers that be are after blacks and now it's women. Where will it end? We need to stop this nonsense now where it hurts them. Their pocketbook.

Isn't it a little soon for a Broke Back Mt remake?

I haven't even seen the first one yet.

I think it's time for women to degree no more female leads in Robinov's life. One look at the man (and how much shorter he is than Sandra Bullock) anyone can tell that he's got deep insecurities. The problem with movies like The Invasion and The Brave One is that they reflect the paranoia of the '70's, not the '00's. Similarly, Robinov's sexist remarks reflect that world, too. Perhaps if the oh so brilliant creative minds at Warner Bros. would do a better job addressing the modern woman, they would do a better job of getting the modern woman, at least, into the movie theatres if not into bed.

Jennifer? Worth watching? That sullen-hair-in-my-face-saying-all-my-lines-through-my-clenched-teeth, girl? Have you ever seen her mouth move?

Well, I think it's time to do a remake of Thelma and Louise with male leads.

This is ignorant. There are so many good writers and so many good books, yet Hollywood insists on recycling the same old crap and expecting different results.

Here's a thought, good writing, good acting, good directing, equals, money. Might try this formula and take a risk once in a while. Duh!

I wonder what Clint Eastwoood thinks of this?In the '60s he started his Malpaso Productions and almost took it away from Warners. Now it's almost 40 years later. AND he's starting a new film with Angelina Jolie in the lead. Don't f**k with Clint.

Okay, I have posted this elsewhere, but there is much truth here. A guy goes out on a date, spends $50 or $60 on dinner, maybe more, and another $20 or $30 on a movie, then another $20 or $30 on drinks afterward, he doesn't want a movie in which the female comes out as the superhero. He wants to get laid, and that's hard to do when the female is fantasing about being Uma Thurman in "Kill Bill." Sorry, gals. That's just the way it is. We didn't make the rules. We're just trying to live by them.

Why am I not surpised you're not geting any?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:06 PM on 10/05/2007

No, you're just another one of those insecure, afraid-to-make-a-committment guys who is threatened by any woman with an actual personality. When some woman finally snags you, you will make her life miserable, she will divorce you and you will blame her for your shortcomings. Grow up.

If all you want is to get laid - go find a lady of the night - probably spend about the same and you know you'll get what you want - you won't mess up some girl's life and I'll know neither of my daughters is dating you.

You think you're liklier to get laid after your date has been staring at George Cloony for 2 hours? Trust me, she'd rather go home and masturbate.

You understand women even less than you understand the economics of the entertainment industry.
