Thompson's Southern Strategy Could Backfire In Iowa, NH

In South Carolina, the former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson's campaign is fond of pointing out their boss' Southern-fried heritage.

"I think first of all that Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, is in fact a whole lot closer to Lexington, South Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina, than are Boston or New York for instance," said Walter Whetsell, a veteran South Carolina consultant now working for Thompson. "But I think that that has a literal closeness, but I think figuratively that the values that he shares are our values."

It's going to be an interesting debate Tuesday night, we'll get to see what Thompson is really like in person without going through a media filter. We'll also see if Giuliani waffles on "values issues" or if he stands up and says he is who he is, voters need to decide if he's the best candidate. Mr Whetsell is being paid by Freddy o' Hollywood to claim that voters in his region have the same values as Fred, so that means the values of those voters include $600 Gucci Slippers, silicone enhanced spouses two and a half decades younger, taking money to promote positions you later say you find reprehensible, working by choice in 'the arts's with all of 'those people', and of course a lack of committment. Fred has had two wives, many affairs and refused to serve his full term in the one office he has ever been elected to. He dropped the Senate for Hollywood, darling, Hollywood, with his term incomplete and his State in the lurch.

what's disturbing is the media love-fest for this guy early on. Whenever this fraud has a rally he only has 40 people to show up, which 50% are probably paid for. Yet each rally ron paul has he gets 1000+ people to show up. How the fuck is drop-dead-fred supposedly polling so high? Who exactly donates to him?
