It will be a great day when women are celebrated not for being the same as men but for being DIFFERENT from men.

America land of the democracy has yet to ever elect a woman President, ironic. Many other countries that are far less progressive than the U.S. such as Israel, India, Philippine and other have reached this pinnacle year ago before us. Call it

discrimination or any other reason you want, reality speaks for itself. Women in the eyes of men are still trying to overcome the

fear that power and womanliness are mutually exclusive. Do you believe Women are Better Leaders than Men? ------->

This blog should stay here so long as sexist, ignorant individuals like yourself show exactly why such stories are needed.

In nearly every single one of your posts, you are either attacking blacks or women -- or both, as in the case of both Oprah Winfrey and Marion Jones.

Obviously you have a few insecurity issues, which is why you focus so much on putting other people down.

Women under fascism can =succeed= by imitating men

Fascist societies, like the USA in 2007, are phallocentric and male supremacist in the extreme. Women can =succeed= in such a society only to the extent that they are willing to adopt the male agenda as if it were their own. Some women are willing to do this but most are not.

The most masculine activity of all is, of course, warring. In the USA, =liberation= for girls and women is measured by the extent to which they are used as killers, cannon fodder, and comfort women for mens wars of aggression.

Not surprisingly, Nazi Germany also tried to foster female militarism:

Sometimes the young ladies would be playing at soldiering, too, for the Hitler Youth movement did not neglect the maidens. From 10 to 14, German girls were enrolled as Jungmaedel, literally, =young maidens= and they too had a uniform, made up of a white blouse, full blue skirt, socks and heavy, most unfeminine, matching shoes.

Not using your "autodefensa" sock today, raise?

Funny you would make such a post.

You are a fan of BuyRubles who posted these little anti-female comments:

shut up. jenna is a nasty slut that is RUDE, smokes too much pot (not that pot is bad) and is annoying as hell - I should know because I went to school with her.

by the way, women are the GOLD DIGGERS of our society and have always taken 50 percent of a man's assets despite having done NOTHING to earn them. notice how shaquille o'neal's wife will gain all that wealth from her husband...

By my comment above I definitely didn't mean to include Arianna as part of what I called a "dumb list". Arianna is definitely powerful. And brilliant.

In fact I can't think of anyone else I'd rather see as president, except maybe Dennis Kucinich.

Arianna is not only powerful, she talks truth to power, and that's all right by me.

Why did they pick such a dumb list of women to display "Women in Power"? Half those women don't have any real power. I mean, Rachel Ray? A lady who makes her living selling recipes to housewives? OK, money maybe. Maybe some marginal influence over what happens in people's kitchens. But that's not not any real power.

This is another example of the typical bad reporting and puffery passing for news that is found all over the American media.

Doug--you've got that right. This is the lamest list of women EVER published.

Must be part of the propaganda to reduce women's rights in America. If this is power, all us females are screwed. Talk about a really low threshold. YUCK!

But it's sooooo Newsweek.

Caseybabes, no one denies that Huffington Post is a progressive blog. You have a problem with that? I guess it was okay when the Right and the neocons dominated talk radio and were the only voices heard on the airwaves for years. It gave us the present administration in "all its g(l)ory." Did people like yourself think that those of us who are more liberal or progressive in our thinking were going to sit back and take it? If so, you were flat out wrong. When we see wrong, it know that it is our "right and duty" to speak up and take action. Huffington Post and other vehicles have allowed us to do that. If the person helping to lead the charge is a woman, so be it! Bush has done more for the progressive movement than any of us put together. I heard one of the true conservative thinkers talking about how this administration and their free spending have strayed far from the conservative values of the republican party. You have no party left, thanks to Bush, his corrupt cronies and this useless war. Open your eyes and take notes of some longtime republicans who have abandon the party. Do you who still clings to the name, have any idea of what "your" party stands for? I think not. You just come to this blog and whatever opinion is in the majority, you decide the opposite must be the one for you. I find it pathetic to cling to something that is not long there. So, yes, Huffington Post is a progressive blog and the opinion are usually anti-Bush. That is not because of the blog's founder but because of the policies this horrible, horrible administration which is an embarrassment to intelligent people everywhere in the world.
Thank you, Adrianna, for seeing a need and providing a means for Americans frustrated with government to be allowed to speak their mind and express what is in their hearts. We are happy to make you have a powerful voice because in return you have given us voice!

I think it's great when women make it big.
News flash to feminists: Most men aren't scared of you, a rising tide floats all boats. I think that many women are scared of themselves, of the risk, and perhaps the sheer assholishness, that it often takes to break into upper levels of power.

But us men, we're tired of working our asses off, going bald and getting heart attacks from elevated stress hormones. You run things for a few centuries while we work on our abs. Seems fair to me.

But women don't necessarily make better leaders on the basis of their gender alone. Internationally, Margaret Thatcher is a prime example of a female head of state that wasn't so hot.

On a more local level, former Salt Lake City, Utah Mayor Deedee Corradini was as corrupt as they come. Much of her administrative tenure was a non-stop series of justifiable lawsuits. She was heavily invested in a scheme to build a coal-fired power plant just over the Nevada line. California would have gotten the power, Nevada would have gotten the tax base, and Salt Lake, (her constituents) would have gotten the pollution.

Hillary? Hell, I'll vote for her if she wins the Democratic primary (cue the hillary haters). But would I vote for Condoleeza Rice if she was the GOP candidate? Hellllll no!

Define progressive. Frankly you can't because it is just a term to lessen the impact of using "liberal," a very touchy label in the public's mind. So liberal/"progressive"/moveon/socialist/anarchist democrats hide behind a new name, but their policies the same.
As you can probably note, the response I typed has been wiped away. So much for the fairness and honesty of HuffPo.......dissent is not permitted on a site that is the true danger to the USA......denial of free speech.

Hillary Clinton is more of the same failure and corruption that has plagued this country for the last 7 years..

we do not need more of the same..

Hillary Clinton voted to authorize Bush to attack Iraq..

Hillary Clinton voted to authorize Bush to attack Iran..

Hillary Clinton has a husband who gave us the NAFTA that has sent our middle class jobs to countries that use child labor and slave labor and is creating a race to the bottom in wages and benefits.. There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton would continue to destroy our middle class..

Hillary Clinton will NOT get my vote.. under any circumstances.. if my choice is to live with more republican failure or new democratic failure.. i will simply write in my candidate and walk away proudly knowing i am not to blame for the misery and failure that continues...

I have learned that in the workplace, to be even allowed to succeed, a woman must be beautiful or such a mean bully that people allow her to succeed like the recent late Leona Helmsley.

I often wonder how many workplaces have a director who actually recommends that a supervisor give an unsatisfactory job review to the homely, but hard-working women at the same time he flirts with the attractive women, writes homely women up for "bothering" him when she so much as speaks a few words of pleasant greeting to him, but then allows attractive woman come into his office to shoot the breeze. I am a hard-working, but not beautiful woman, and I probably would have lost my job had it not been for a director who behaves as the one I describe above, had not been forced to resign his position as a director of our department, and now a different department. I am sure it happens more often than not that a woman is considered incompetent if she is not sexually attractive. This means that the attractive women in our office and probably a lot of offices don't have to work as hard as homely women just to keep their job. Likewise, age can have an adverse effect on youthful beauty, so women are much more likely to be on the receiving end of age discrimination as well.

I am sure that a lot of women, especially compared to men are suddenly given an adverse job review when they hit the age of 40 even if their performance has not changed after a good past job review. In the name of "employment at will," they suddenly find themselves jobless just because they are no longer a "young, fresh "chick." They are no longer useful "office ornaments" so out the door they go. No, I am not being sexist, I'm being realistic. Women are considered less valuable in the workplace than men and still earn 70 cents on the dollar that men earn. Yet, such differential treatment in pay is supposed to be illegal.

Sorry Forbode,
Looks matter to men in the workplace too, as does age. And asshole-ish-ness too often seems to be a prerequisite for American executive class positions.

But it's gender-neutral ass-hole-ish-ness.

And you generally get the pay scale you negotiate, not the one that's handed to you.
