New York Times:

The Iraqi prime minister's office said Sunday that the government's investigation had determined that Blackwater USA private security guards who shot Iraqi civilians three weeks ago in a Baghdad square sprayed gunfire in nearly every direction, committed "deliberate murder" and should be punished accordingly.

Iraqi investigators, supported by Iraqi witness accounts, have said unofficially that they could not find evidence of any attack on the Blackwater guards that might have provoked the shooting on Nisour Square, which the Iraqis now say killed 17 and wounded 27. But the Sunday statement by Ali al-Dabbagh, a spokesman for the prime minister, is the first indication that the government considers its investigation completed and the shootings unprovoked.

Seems to me we had a few words to say to the Brits on this a while back.

Where was that? Some insignificant document, no doubt. Nothing that should have illustrated to all mankind the essential humanity of man, no.

What was that? The Declaration of Independence, I seem to remember from third grade. I guess it has no significance today.

But let us look at a few passages:

i watched the blackwater hearings today and tom davis and the other republicans on the panel should have been sitting at the table with the witnesses. all they did was kiss their asses and apologize for inconveniencing them. real investigation, boys!

I wonder if anyone in this administration has ever read the history of our war for independence? One significant factor in pushing American colonists away from their loyalty to Great Britain and toward American independence was British use of Hessian mercenaries. They were respected and certainly feared, but their overall influence was to turn the people against the power that paid them. I'll answer my own question: policy makers in this administration have read no history at all.

Executive Order 11000 allows Seizure of all American people for work forces under federal supervision including the splitting of families if the government finds it necessary.
