There is yet a larger problem. Since we are stuck in Iraq (even the Dems are admitting this now) we cannot simply get rid of all of the armed contractors. Fact is, we do not have enough military members to replace them. Since the draw down of the 90's we have not had a military large enough to meet every mission that could arise. Clinton cut us back since we had no large threats at the time and it was a way to save money for the economy. Rumsfeld had even grander schemes of cutting us more so he could say that he streamlined the military into the "Objective Force". We are now feeling the backlash of all of those cuts with extended deployments and for why? So me and my friends have a better chance of getting blown up? I made it out of there twice with never getting hit hard and I lost none of my Joe's and I sure as hell don't want to have to go back to cover for a lack of contractors. Either expand the military, leave the contractors or figure a way out that will not result in Iraq turning in a country torn by genocide.

If Obama wants a real chance to win- he needs to return to his original message. He is being swayed by the competition w/ Hillary. By shadowing her he is losing the edge he had. Out of Iraq, Out of Afghanistan, no Iran conflict- more diplomacy, more domestic agenda, return of rights & liberties,....A Revival of the American Spirit as individuals and as a nation. Hillary's waist deep in DC Sh*t. Don't wade in after her- unless bucking for VP(IF she wins).

This is a valid issue, but, instead of just talking about it as a campaign point, as a senator, he should do something about it on the Hill.

Is he just now figuring it out? Did it take Blackwater to make him aware of these problems? Anyone who knows anyone who's worked for a private contractor in Iraq has known about some of these problems for a long time. I'm not too surprised, though, that he took so long to catch on. Some time back I saw a piece where he admitted he didn't even know what a hitch ball is. Makes me think he's not really in touch with average people.

So does Obama want to massively increase millitary spending to raise our troops pay to private security levels? Or does he want to kill private security pay and watch all those people we need, walk away?

Lets face it. The troops get benifits, and massive support from other troops. Those private security forces are on their own. No Jets coming in to bomb their enemy. You got to pay men more if you want them to stand alone.

But I guess any smear is a good smear....it doesn't have to be logical, or true. You just have to slip it past the majority of people who are half asleep at the switch and don't know you just dumped a load of propaganda on them.

In Obama's case though, this may just make him look as if he doesn't understand the realities and that his is, not experienced enough to go in as president. This kind of propaganda can blow up on a man like Obama who already has foot-in-mouth disease which Hillary doesn't seem to suffer from.
