SNL Rips Fred Thompson: "How Badly Do I Want To Be Your President? On A Scale Of One To Ten, How 'Bout A Six?"

SNL's Darrell Hammond rips on Fred Thomspon for being lazy/lacksadaisacal — but lets him off easy for not actually knowing all that much. Would have been vastly improved by the presence of a giant stogie.

This wasn't one of SNL's chosen YouTube vids so here are a few moments:

Fred Armisen popped in as Sam Waterson but I think I would have rather seen Kirsten Wiig or Amy Poehler crawling all over him as the nubile Jeri. Also, wondering if the SNL live audience got the "round of applause" joke. I'm going to go with "no" because they applauded but didn't seem to actually laugh.

As a Tennessean myself, I can personally attest to the fact that Fred Thompson was about as much of a "zero" as one can be and still get elected to the Senate. The important thing to remember about Fred is that during the Watergate hearings in his role as "minority counsel", he was the one carrying the water for the corrupt president and providing the Nixon administration with inside information about the committee's investigation. In my opinion (although I would actually prefer Nixon to the current president) that alone disqualifies him as a presidential candidate.

When this guy is the best of the bunch, the GOP are really in the soup.
Rudy had to have been the most hated man in New York on Sept 10th 2001...what a patronizing, hypocritical, self-aggrandizing, 911 pound ass he is!...but he has an IQ above 70 which makes him by far the brightest of the GOP bunch.
Thompson is just another GOP intellectual midget...where do they dig these retards up from? Personally I'll be glad if this buffoon gets the GOP nomination...who on earth is going to vote for this guy when they listen to him asking for applause like that, and only wanting to be president 6 out of a possible 10? Thompson is just another traitor to America and is for sale to the top corporation.
Everyone who takes bribes, like the majority of congress, especially Hillary in the form of campaign donations makes me sick.

Legalized bribery is still bribery and certainly only good for corporate interests. The day will come when the apathetic American public will get tired of getting craped on by their so called representatives and do something to stop this BS! Till then they can ES!

Lets try this again since the moderator crushed my last post. I'll try to put it in context a bit more.

Clearly you on the left like Rudi G (A candidate who supports the 45 million abortion agenda and whom you've trashed for cross dressing) more than you support Fred Thompson (whom you are bashing) who is a conservative with more experience as a senator that Obama.

That's not a surprise. Rudi is little more than a liberal democrat and bound to hand the election to Hillary because the conservatives who supported the republican party will not support abortion, will not support gay marriage and will not come out and vote for Rudi.

In my opinion, Newt didn't run because he ultimately decided that Hillary has a lock on the election, the conservative base is to discouraged with the Republican party to allow the Republicans to retake the Whitehouse.

Years ago I used to watch all 90 minutes of each show. Later that was scaled down to about an hour. Later that was reduced to about 35-40 minutes after the "news". Lately I catch the first 5 minutes when I can.
