Iraqi authorities want the U.S. government to sever all contracts in Iraq with Blackwater USA within six months. They also want the firm to pay $8 million in compensation to families of each of the 17 people killed when its guards sprayed a traffic circle with heavy machine gun fire last month.

The demands -- part of an Iraqi government report examined by The Associated Press -- also called on U.S. authorities to hand over the Blackwater security agents involved in the Sept. 16 shootings to face possible trial in Iraqi courts.

The tone of the Iraqi report appears to signal further strains between the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the White House over the deaths in Nisoor Square -- which have prompted a series of U.S. and Iraqi probes and raised questions over the use of private security contractors to guard U.S. diplomats and other officials.

Bilgewater should leave or should have never been the Praetorian Guard in the first place. Perhaps they will ask the US to leave too.

Eight million is a bit steep for compensation, perhaps a 401K might suffice. They could easily move to peaceful Jordan on that and start a business.

I know that the thugs who are running the United States Government right now never considered the "so-called government" (their words...) that they installed in Iraq to be anything more than a Puppet. They never intended for it to do anything more than that Just One Thing Which We All Know.

It is very, very good to see the rest of the world, including both Iran and Iraq, standing up to these bozos (who, by the way, have NOTHING to do with the 'Real' United States of America!!) and doing so in a curiously =peaceful= way.

The mantle of legitimacy with which these thugs have cloaked themselves is quietly but quickly falling away, as lie upon lie and theft upon theft is finally exposed.

These thugs never were legitimate; and still are not. Whether they call themselves Senator or Congressman or Justice or Attorney General or Vice-President or President ... they gained their places of power by deceit and conspiracy and have done absolutely nothing else since. They do NOT represent the United States of America, and it is high time that the United States of America wake up from her slumber and show them that.

We ... the People, and the Rest of the World ... CAN do better than this, and We are quietly determined to do so. "You can take your 'war' and *** it, Mister Prisoner 35609."

Blackwater is just one of many mercenary companies making billions in Iraq on the backs of the American taxpayer. Blackwater's not even the largest, according to Jeremy Scahill, the author of "Blackwater". He says these mercenary companies have as many heavily armed "operatives" in Iraq as there are American soldiers. War is Profitable. Just ask any of these mercenary companies, the oil companies, Haliburton (whose subsidiary KBR is also in the security business) and The Carlyle Group (making big bucks for the Bush dynasty). We all know that making billions is much more important than the Iraqi and, yes, the American people. We Americans are just the lackeys bankrolling it.

They have no "hand" alá George Castanza.

Iraq telling the USA, with 14 military bases embedded all around the country?

If they misbehave, the US forces will smack 'em down in a fortnight.

Next...!

Ugh.

If the Iraqi government has the spine to stand up to the Bush regime, they will insist that the Bush/Cheney thugs are deported out of Iraq.
They have brought nothing but embarrassment to our nation, and bloodshed for the Iraqi's.

The Clusterfuck Commander will NOT let that happen...

1. He doesn't have the troops to replace them.
2. To do so would deny no-bid contractors the taxpayer-provided security they need to insure their profits.

I believe Rummy said it best: "I doubt six months". (Of course, he led that statement with "six days, six weeks", but his claims on Iraq are accurate only when taken out of context.)

This demand has as much weight as a Harry Reid threat.

Doesn't this seem like an effort on Iraq's part to get us out of their country? They have to know how important the Blackwater forces are to the padding of our troop numbers.

In case there are those who've never been exposed to the "Real" truth of our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, I'll post a link to a ten-minute read:

http://tinyurl.com/4cbsr

This is the history of our quest to help drain the Caspian Basin Gas & Oil through those two countries. It is strictly a business venture and the decision to have our country supply the forces to affect this "venture" is well documented. It is also the likely topic at the infamous "Energy Policy" conference that Cheney held behind closed doors. Unocal of California is the prime U.S. oil group with a large stake in the "War."

Our U.S. Military has been working for Unocal as if they were salaried employees. Yes, and they have been dying for them. This is the story the Bushies couldn't, or wouldn't tell the American Public, and the main reason most Americans despise Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld. They do NOT Trust the American Public well enough to Tell them the Truth! This is what they will be held accountable for.

Enjoy your "read."

The Iraq Occupation must end, NOW!

When America runs low on gas in the next few years you'll have none other but the demented and pompous ex-Bush/Cheney administration to thank for the $9/gallon rationed, low quality fuels you'll be lucky to find.

The Iraq mess and the ill-advised pending attack on Iran will completely divert all foreign crude into China and other developing nations. The entire world is rapidly losing faith and all respect for our country and will no doubt run out of patience. Becoming the client warfare state of Saudi Arabia and Israel has made the U.S. the laughing stock of the entire planet.

THIS COUNTRY HAS BEEN HEADING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION ever since Bush/Cheney stole the elections. Iraq must be freed to their own self-determination, NOT Bush/Cheney's and ALL U.S. ground troops must be removed from the Middle East with all speed or there will be Hell to pay.

Count on it.

The U.S. government ignored the Iraqis in May, when their legislature asked us to work with them to set a date for withdrawing our troops, so why should anyone think the U.S. government will pay any attention to them when they ask to have the mercenaries removed?

The Iraqis haven't yet learned that they can't just come out and ask the occupying forces to do something. First, they have to ask for permission to ask for something, then they might be allowed to actually ask. That's how Democracy under the tutelage of 21st Century America works, and the sooner they learn that lesson, the better for all concerned.

I totally agree with the Iraqi's and it is time the other mercenaries suffered the same fate as the evil blackwater mercenaries.
