Once again the Democrats are giving the finger to the voters, figuring the stupid, unprincipled progressives will back them anyway. The Democratic frontrunners are comfortable giving the finger to progressives by refusing to commit to getting the troops and contractors out of Iraq by 2013 (2013?????­????????). The Democratic frontrunner feels comfortable enough to give progressives the finger by voting to give Bush authority to take military action against Iran.

And it's funny. I've already heard supposedly progressive Air America commentators (who are actually just depicable shills for the Democratic Party) say the new wiretap authorization is actually progressive.

But progressives will whine and then vote for these vermin anyway. Because they are not progressives in reality.

The war in Iraq is YES, THAT IMPORTANT. Standing up to the White House's war on the Bill of Rights and our Constitution is yes, that important. Putting these crooks in jail, Bush and Cheney that is, or at least neutering them until election day, is YES, THAT IMPORTANT.

We expect you to camp out on the capitol steps every day, if that is needed, and hold daily press conferences on the capitol steps everyday if that is needed, and shut down congress every day if that is needed to force this president's hand.

We are fed up, Democrats. Damnit, we've complaiined and cried, and waited for seven friggin years to achieve some minimal level of justice in our country, while you spineless weasels won't even stand up to protect our soldiers who are dying every day in Iraq. Won't stand up to protect their divorced, bankrupt families who support those soldiers back here in this country.
You do not deserve the privledges of office, Democrats. You could have elected anyone of a dozen other Dems to the positions of Speaker and Senate Majority Leader. And you chose Pelosi and Reid?

My God, they are the epitome' of weakness. Begging King George not to insult them or run anti-Dem ads during the next election. Wake up, Dems.

We can't seem to overcome the MINORITY Republicans who only THREATEN to filibuster, but don't actually filibuster." Reid, lapdog extraordinaire, threatens to bring the cots out to the Senate floor for one of the early Repub threatened filibusters, actually doesn't have the cojones to make it last thru the night. He calls off the cot session before midnight so that he can get some sleep.

But not only do these worthless, spineless Democrats not have the courage to stand up to the President, and a President with less than 30 percent approval ratings, they actually now vote for a Iran War precursor bill last week, and now vote to extend unlimited spy powers on behalf of the administration, for fear that the President and his Repub crooks might just use it against them in upcoming elections.

I am one of those independents. You know, one of millions represented by the fat, central part of the bell curve of american politics. One of the voters both parties have ignored over the years as they played lap dogs to their "base".

Centrist in most areas. Small government wanted, but one that provides value for its citizens when people can no longer help themselves. Strong military required as part of a strong national defense. Protect our borders, guard our chemical and nuclear power plants, inspect cargo containers coming into our country.

A foreign policy that is consistent and based on treating other nations with respect and dignity. Free and open trade. Shining city on the hill and all. Clean environment, clean water, clean air. Pro choice, good schools, an affordable college education for anyone who wants one. And a judicial system that favors the little guy over the mega-defense machine. The practice of faith is cool, but optional for all, and government must stay the hell out of the faith business.

Centrist, independent of party, no axe to grind but one of principles. Do the right thing.

Gotta say Dems - I rejoiced like you wouldn't believe on election day, 2006, when your party retook both houses of congress with the hope there might be some balance to these nutbags in the While House and their Republican, old-white men power mongers who received absolute power from the hands of fearful and relatively uneducated American voters these past 7 years.

I think it would do everyone some good to actually look at the bill being discussed. It is NOT a conciliation to the administration. It does NOT grant anyone immunity for acts committed. In fact Bush will most likely veto the damned thing. Then will you nitwits call him a member of the "bend over" party. The Democrats are feeding Bush his own tail.
