I Like ItI Don’t Like It

From Roll Call's Heard on the Hill:

One might think it would be great to have Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as a neighbor (imagine the block parties!). But the Speaker apparently is not making herself popular in her high-dollar 'hood, telling reporters on Tuesday that protesters have taken up residence outside her house and are driving the natives wild.

"I've had four or five months of people sitting outside my home, going into my garden in San Francisco and angering my neighbors," Pelosi said at a gathering sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.

Pelosi added that the squatters have engaged in decidedly non-neighborly behavior like hanging their clothes from the trees; moving in sofas, chairs and other "permanent living facilities"; and, oddly, building a large Buddha on the sidewalk in front of her home. "You can just imagine my neighbors' reactions to all of this," she said. "And if they were poor, and they were sleeping on my sidewalk, they'd be arrested for loitering, but because they have 'impeach Bush' across their chest, it's the First Amendment."

To Keith Olbermann: Are you paying attention? How about having Jeremy Scahill (of these videos) on your show?

beholder is absolutely correct. Speaker Pelosi, was so appreciated when she was first named Speaker of the House. But she has sold her soul to the lobbiests just as any good Republican was done. She is no better, and no worse. Just a tremendous disappointment. She's in for a shocker, we are going to vote third party in masse. The democrats, nor the republicans can be trusted with running this nation. They are abject failures. Failures !!!

What did she think would happen when she took the job. The people voted for change, they voted to throw the crooks out. They are mad because she took Impeachment off the table when if anything this President deserves it even more than Nixon did.

They are criminals and they got there illegally.

She is more worried about getting them out of her life, than that she lied and cheated her parties supporters into keeping her in power another term.
I hope thousands move in and haunt her until the day she lives up to her promises, or resigns from Congress. Even though that would be letting her off easy for the deceit and lies she is guilty of.

At least the republicans keep their word. They are 100% capitalist and 0% American public. Theyre proud of it, and they live up to that.
Scary thinking the GOP is more honest than the Democrats nowadays. Now as for out right illegal corruption, the GOP leads in that as well though. But they do seem to keep their most of their election promises.

loki actually says "at least the republicans keep their word" - one of the nuttiest things I've seen at this site. And that's sayin' somethin'. This administration has told millions of lies over the past 6 years - and, people are dead or ruined as a result.

Oh yeah, sure they do. You mean promises like; being a fiscal conservative, like being against nation building, like promising to curb practices that help reduce greenhouse gasses, like not placing fuel economy standards on all our vehicles, like promising to rebuild after Katrina, like telling the American people that the war in Iraq would only cost 85 billion, and that Iraqi oil would pay for it, like telling us the war would last.."six days, six weeks, but I doubt six months???? And the biggest and most important promise..."I swear to uphold and DEFEND the Constitution of the United States?" And this promise was made with hands on bibles. These creeps have managed to shit on the constitution and the bible at the same time.

"At least the republicans keep their word."

Which galaxy have you been residing in? The reasons the Republicans had no turnout in 2006 is because they've pissed off the conservative base to the point where they didn't care that the Democrats would control Congress being Bush et al have abandoned almost every one of their campaign stump promises, and apparently the same is starting to hold true for the Bible thumpers as well.

With current trends, the only constituency the Republican party is going to have is big multi-national corporations, and they'll be competing with the DLC wing of the DNC for the campaign donations.
