2007-10-11-bk.jpgThe Center for Constitutional Rights in New York, which has played a key role in several high-profile cases against the Bush administration involving detainee policies and warrantless wiretapping, has just announced a suit against Blackwater USA.

The group is representing an injured survivor and the families of three killed during the controversial shootings last month:

Blackwater USA, the private military contractor whose heavily armed personnel allegedly opened fire on innocent Iraqi civilians in Nisoor Square in Baghdad on Sept. 16, was sued today by an injured survivor and three families of men killed in the incident, according to the legal team representing the civilians. The case was brought be the Center for Constitutional Rights and the firms of Burke O'Neil LLC and Akeel & Valentine, P.C.

Filed in Washington, D.C. federal court by Talib Mutlaq Deewan and the estates of the deceased men - Himoud Saed Atban, Usama Fadhil Abbass, and Oday Ismail Ibraheem - the lawsuit alleges that Blackwater and its affiliated companies violated U.S. law and "created and fostered a culture of lawlessness amongst its employees, encouraging them to act in the company's financial interests at the expense of innocent human life."

The complaint alleges that Blackwater violated the federal Alien Tort Statute in committing extrajudicial killing and war crimes, and that Blackwater should be liable for claims of assault and battery, wrongful death, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and negligent hiring, training and supervision.

A PDF of the complaint can be found here.

I am so grateful to the Center for Constitutional Rights,Burke O'Neil and Akeel & Valentine.

Blackwater/Murder Inc. is a stain on democracy.

Good to know there are people in this country willing to fight the good fight.

I wish them and the families much success.

It is an outrage that our tax dollars are paying big bucks for these mercenaries who injure and murder innocent Iraqui citizens. I am pleased that the Iraqui people want Blackwater booted out of their country, and rightly so. Bring back the draft. Draft the entire Bush Dynasty from ages 18 to 40 and be sure to put them on the front lines to sacrifice for their country and fight the war W lied us into. It is only right that they fight.

Once again with the draft thing! Thoise of who were drafted into the Viet Nam War worked long and hard to see that it came to a halt. If you think that a draft will stop this war, you are an ignorant fool. It took 10 years, 58,000 plus deaths in Viet Nam plus the killing a wounding of civilians to bring that war to a halt. What will stop this war, and is beginning to tell on this war, is the lack of cannon fodder. If these people are willing to lie about everything what makes you think that the Draft is going to keep them from continuing to send even more troops over there? Remember, the Surge is working and if there were another 100,000 troops to send it would work even better!

First of all, you cannot write a draft law that would include everyone no matter how much you would like to. Do you want to fight alongside someone who has downs, Syndrome. Would you want your life to depend upon someone who suffers from Grand Mal seizures? Of course not. How about someone missing a leg, an arm or is deaf? No, again. As during the Viet Nam era, rich people's kids always managed to have some sort of medical problem that kept them from being draftable. And, at that time, the National Guard was not seen as part of the machinery to go fight in a foreign war so people like our illustrious Preznit manage to hide there. So accept that if there are exemptions to be had, the rich will get them.

The only people who are for the reinstatement of the Draft are people who don't understand the consequences of the Draft i.e. more bodies throw in front of the cannons., more lives to squander for the Republic!
Then there are the people who tout the reinstatement of the Draft because they know they they will never be Drafted because they are too old, too young, too rich, or they have no family members to worry about!

Bush would just grant them pardon. Those are his goons - hired to terrorize, torture, rape and kill civilians. He wouldn't let them down.

Bush can't pardon a finding of culpability in a civil case.

What a surprise, this CHRISTIAN CEO of BLACKWATER, being caught in a scam on the American people becausae of his contributions to the BUSH regime.....hmmmm, now that sounds a bit familiar....

Like Michael Brown and the KATRINA DEBACLE of 'Trailers For sale Or Rent',,,some as much as 50 cents'..
or
Like Nicholson put in charge of Veterans Affairs and the Walter Reed Debacle for wounded soldiers.....
or
Stickler who was put in charge of Coal Mining in America...how did that work out for ya, BUSHY???!!
or

Family Values David Vitter of Louisiana
or......

Libermann (frog-kisser) on the Blackwater hearings recently who didn't see any problems....
or
Jeff Gannon (BUSH spy in the Press Room)
or
Armstrong on Education VOUCHER....
or
Lewis Libby on Grand Jury conviction....
or
David Kuo and his new book about how the BUSH
REGIME lied to the 'Faith-Based Christian' gullibles....
or
Mitt Romney who tied his dog to the top of his car for their family vacation (Michael Vick wants to know just how large that dog was and...)
or
Mike Huckabee who thinks the world is 6000 years old and still wants to be President....
or
it's tiring keeping up with these 'COMPASSIONATE CHRISTIANS' who BUSH hires and inspires with his WEALTH and POWER!
(wonder if BUSH knows Richard Roberts, President of the Oral Roberts University who was recently sued for misuse of University funds for private use....sound like a BUSH trademark to you, too...)

Unleash the awesome power of the conscience of America - that venerable institution known as the jury. Disgorge these evil men of their illicitly gained profits. Impose punitive and exemplary damages on them and their corporate bosses for purposes of punishing and setting an example for this despicable conduct and detriing such conduct in the future.

Expose the racketeering, the fraud, malice and oppression that has wreaked havoc and destroyed lives. Take testimony under oath, discover documents, and establish the money trail into their pockets from the public funds.

Jack Abramoff, Tom DeLay, Duke Cunningscam, Richard Pombo, John Doolittle, Ted Stevens, Jerry Lewis, Alberto Gonzalez, Richard B. Cheney, George W. Bush, Carlyle Group, ExxonMobil, etc.,.....

Just follow the money and the influence and you will discover and prove who is behind the curtain. The Constitution has empowered the people through their veniremen to ferret out the fraud of those plundering the public coffers and committing war crimes.

These are not the only suits. The False Claims suits and the Qui Tam suits are all under seal. When the courts stop protecting these evil men by imposing secrecy on the court files - even six years later after filing, you will see the greatest war crimes exposed. Not to mention the immunity Bush seeks for Telecommunication companies who have been spying on you!

Indemnification would protect and compensate us for the domestic spying and data mining damages.
