Time:

The following Q&A With Jenna Bush is from Time Magazine's weekly 10 Questions feature where readers submit questions online.

Below is a question from Donald Pence, San Francisco about Jenna Bush service in Iraq.

If the war in Iraq is so noble, why aren't you and your sister serving our country there?

Jenna Bush: I understand that point, but there are many ways to serve our country, and I think my skills are better suited for teaching and representing the U.S. in Latin America through unicef. I respect the men and women of our country who are over there fighting. It is an unbelievably selfless thing to do. But if people really thought about it, they would know it's not even a practical question.

Reading over many of the comments it seems like most are our guys versus your guys. Writers who support Bush are quick to point out Clinton's faults as a defense for what Bush does wrong. The other way around was also true when Clinton ruled. We should argue the merits of the action or the justification for the action, not who's doing it. I'm sure a bombed, legless Serbian child loves the United States just as little as a bombed legless Iraqi child. Same goes for blinded Serbian and Iraqi adults. No one's gonna love you when you bomb them, no matter which party decides to do it.

There are SO MANY in Iraq to have resentment against the US. Much more than in Serbia. There is really no comparison. Iraq was INVADED recklessly, for their oil. It would be like the Chinese invading the US. We would be fighting back just as they are. Who benefits from this? Oil companies, arms dealers. Who benefitted from the war in Serbia? How long did it last? The whole situation is different. We were not lied into Serbia.

Obviously, thats pretty silly. I think this form of argument is a cute way to try to pin war supporters and make them look disengenuous to the masses, but surely you can't believe that just because someone agrees with something they are honorbound to perform every necessary duty to effectuate the result. Or perhaps you do, and you will be joining your local precinct today. I also assume that none of you have jobs and instead spend every waking hour fighting against this facist dictator George W Bush. "

That is the single most idiotic analogy ever presented from the Bush apologist camp. If a U.S. city ever was in shambles as Iraq is, yes, indeed Americans would be called on to serve as police until calm is restored. And, anyone who didn't, who is physically able to, would certainly be a coward. So surely, anyone who believes in the Iraq war, is able bodied (as Jenna is to serve in at least some capacity), yet chooses not to serve, is a coward. Either you object to the Iraq War, you support it and you're there (or physically unable to serve), or you're a chicken hawk. Stop trying to spin your way out of that, and go back to Limbaugh for another idea, retard.

OTHER JENNA BUSH EXCUSES FOR AVOIDING MILITARY SERVICE

Allergic to khaki and sand fleas

Grandma doesn't like me associating with "hired help"

Prada does not make combat boots

Troop shortages make chauffeur-driven Humvee a no-go.

Would require having a ballsack larger then rich white hubby-to-be.

Afraid of friendly-fire mishap after Cheney orders air-strikes on Iran.

I don't go anywhere that doesn't require a fake I.D.

Cannot risk political fallout from temptation to go AWOL like Daddy.

I've got a "limbaugh cyst."

Jenna Bush is absolutely correct. Many people in the U.S. have not yet come to grips with oligarchy and privilege. In the present political environment, this question is silly and oh so boring.

As someone who has had family in the war zone with the potential of them going back, I really take issue with Jenna Bush. In my opinion, the military aged family of Administration members and poitical appointees of any Administration that goes to war, together with the military aged family members of any Congressperson in a Congress that votes for any kind of combat role for the military, should be drafted, given the same kind of training as any other member of our armed forces and put on the front lines until the end of the conflict.

That means I think it's quite practical to ask why the Bush twins, Cheney's kids, Chelsea, etc. are not on the front lines.

It's very easy to fight to the last drop of someone else's blood and "feel the pain" of the families who sustain the losses or maimings of their loved ones. It's quite another story when it's your family going there.

It is the Administration and Congress that proposes and funds the deaths and maimings of our young when they propose and fund combat. They should have to put their famillies where their principles are.

It is impractical for those families NOT to be sent. Although they may think their lives will be too interrupted by going to war, and it's better to serve in another way, they (and their Administration and/or Congressionperson family members) should not be given another option.

In this way, there would rarely be a war.

EXACTLY!

And when these bull artists get up on a podium to tell us how seriously they take the decision of going to war, and how much it pains them to put our young people "in harm's way", then maybe under such circumstances that force the drafting of their own children - they'll actually mean it.

Exactly! It should be an amendment to the Constitution that no member of Congress, the Senate, or any president can declare war without signing their own family members up to serve (if the are capable according to the general demands of the Armed Forces).
And Jenna: We do need you as a teacher - in Iraq. Their education system is battered, and qualified teachers is on demand. Surely Daddy can accomplish THAT little mission...

I am sick of the comparisons between Hitler and Bush. Hitler served his country in WWI. Bush got wasted and couldn't even show up for National Guard service his daddy got him into.

Of course its not a practical question. Jenna Bush knows who this war is for. The soldiers are dumb stupid animals according to Bush family friend Henry Kissinger.

According to the article, Jenna said, =I respect the men and women of our country who are over there fighting. It is an unbelievably selfless thing to do.=

There is nothing =selfless= about what the troops and mercenaries are doing in Iraq. The main difference between troops and mercenaries is the pay, with troops receiving about 25k per year from taxpayers while mercenaries receive about $80k per year from taxpayers.

Their job is to steal Iraqi oil, turn it over to global corporations, and enslave the Iraqi people. Don't tell me they don't know what they're doing over there. Of course they do!

Let's say you kicked your neighbor's door down, barged into his home in the middle of the night with some of your jack-booted thug buddies, tore his house up, terrorized his family and dragged him off to prison to be tortured. Would you think you had been =selfless= and perhaps brought him some freedom and democracy? Of course not!

This is the kind of drivel I have come to expect from Huffers. Let's say that you lived next door to the "neighbors" and did nothing but pontificate about the incident instead of trying to help out. It makes you a slimy surrender monkey who gives aid and comfort to the enemy.

ResidentChimp--Are you saying that the Iraqi neighbors who witnessed the raid should join the Iraqi resistence? All I'm saying is that the troops/mercenaries should stop brutalizing Iraqis and get out of Iraq.

The Iraqi neighbors can make their own decisions what to do. As for the =neighbors= (in the sense of living on the same planet) from overseas, they should go back to their own house.

When you refer to =the enemy=, you are talking about your own personal =enemy=. I do not share your animosity toward Iraqis. It's their country; they have a right to live there.

WHY isn't even a practical question? Because we should know by now that you and your sister, are a couple ignorant little cowards who wouldn't go to war any more than your daddy did.
And to the contrary, miss. bush, it is an extremely practical question, because you two, whether in ther military or not, should have been put at the front line the first day. You pretentious, self-righteous little prig, "work in LATIN AMERICA," MY ROSEY RED ASS; The only thing you two are even capable of is puking after a party. Beside: Once your daddy hands this country over to the highest bidder (Yes, I say your daddy is a Traitor), there won't be anything for you to do except count the profits, and skip off to your next abomination like usual. I hope you die.

News Update:

The Army now accepts more with criminal records so the last obstacle preventing the Bush Twins from fighting in their Daddy's War of Choice has just been removed.

Come on ladies and enlist!
