Time:

The following Q&A With Jenna Bush is from Time Magazine's weekly 10 Questions feature where readers submit questions online.

Below is a question from Donald Pence, San Francisco about Jenna Bush service in Iraq.

If the war in Iraq is so noble, why aren't you and your sister serving our country there?

Jenna Bush: I understand that point, but there are many ways to serve our country, and I think my skills are better suited for teaching and representing the U.S. in Latin America through unicef. I respect the men and women of our country who are over there fighting. It is an unbelievably selfless thing to do. But if people really thought about it, they would know it's not even a practical question.

You slugs don't understand, she is a member of the privileged class. She and her family are better than you.

Reading those ten questions and answers, reminds me of ANY conversation with a teenager - concise answers giving the bare minimum of information, while giving up nothing of value.
All were answered like a true Bush weasel - not directly.

About her former Wild Child phase, she was asked how she differs now vs the time before (7 years ago already!)
Jenna, not explaining how she has changed or what she has done to merit any growth, just expounds the simple fact that she feels she's grown. Not verifiable, not able to dispute or measure in any way.
I say the little lady has a shot at politics in the USA. Yes, let's elect more politicans who use weasel tactics.

And just wait until George hears about her views on Condoms representing knowledge and CHOICES. Perhaps she meant anyone not living in the USA has choices. Inside our boundaries her father and his supporters are trying to erase what choices still remain.

WHO. BLOODY. ***CARES***???...

What Jenna Bush does. Not I. I honestly don't give $.02 whether she goes to Iraq or goes barhopping in D.C. It. Makes. Not. A. Whit. Of. Difference....

Folks she's trying. Look what the genetic material she's working with. Daddy's an all time fuckup of the 1st order. Parents never exercised any control or instilled much responsibility in either daughter. They're doing the best they can with what they have. If you want responsibility, accountability and purpose and duty, you need to look to other rich, powerful and influential families such as the Kennedy's and the Carter's.

Let's say Jenna joined the Army but served stateside. The Left would complain she was not in Iraq. Let's say she served in Iraq as a medic in the Green Zone. The Left would complain she was not going on patrols. So let's say she went on patrols. The Left would complain that her humvee was armored. So let's say she went on foot patrols and carried an M16. The Left would complain she is not coming under enough fire and that she's wearing body armor. So let's say she went on foot patrols, without armor, and walked point in the most dangerous areas of Bagdad, and was captured by AQI. Then the Left would complain she wasn't tortured.

Jenna is right. It's a stupid question.

But not nearly as stupid as your post.

Okay then, let's play.

Jenna joins the Army and she (along with her Secret Service detail) is posted at the Pentagon. Let's say Clerk/Typist, E-2.

Is that enough to satisfy you? Or do you need more?

if she went to iraq and served as a medic, she could see first hand what the price of her father's ego has been.

i think that's a grand idea.

the country can get started cleaning up after this mess, and she can be the first pair of hands to pitch in by wiping up a small part of the blood her father is responsible for spilling.

Impressive strawman argument. Ok. Let's say Ramirez isn't a right wing stooge. The right would complain that he definitely is.

I concur.

I don't care if she goes to Iraq or Bloomingdale's as long as she gets out of my sight. I would like to never see a Bush again. No need for smarmy comebacks, too easy.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:31 PM on 10/11/2007

I'd rather she go to Bloomingdale's. I don't think we want that drunken doofus anywhere near a loaded weapon.

Upon any military action, reinstate the draft with exceptions ONLY for VALID MEDICAL REASONS. No student or family deferments. Congress and Executive children first. If it is a 'just' war then they should be happy to sacrifice their offspring to keep 'Murcia' safe and free.

The military draft is a form of slavery. If you passively submit to slavery, you only embolden the enslaver.

Hey , maybe if we sent all the troops from Iraq to South America to aid UNICEF, Jenna could go take their place in Iraq?

Isn't that right Republicans ? Bush's are so awesome it would only take one of them to end this thing.

I disagree, I think she might be better pole dancing right along with Fred Thompson's wife. Both realted to people described in Nixon's inmortal words as : dumb as hell, but friendly.

Did you notice the depth of the interview? I think Seventeen magazine went to the special-ed section in Texas and had them ask "questions".

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:50 PM on 10/11/2007

ROFL. I think Jenna and Grandpa Fred's wife are about the same age, too. Maybe they could do an act together to raise money for the troops.

I had to back out to see what site I was at. For a couple of minutes, I thought I was at a "righty " site." Did you notice all the "right" comments up to now???

Man, they must have swarmed over here when they saw this pop up on the headlines. She (Jenna) could join the National Guard, that way she could save a whole bunch of troops since, whatever Unit she joined would be "guaranteed" not to be sent to Iraq.

If any of you really think Bush would give two sh!ts about his daughter going into the service you have probably underestimated the mans greed. We're talking GRADE-A psychopaths here folks. Let's not forget that.

I always think that people who are leaning leftward should visit one of these posts to see what the "progressive" movement is really like. For a group of supposed anti-war advocates, this is a very MEAN crowd. Whatever their lip service regarding "peace," their ideals certainly don't include things like kindness or compassion, do they?

it is a very frustrated crowd, because it is sick of the dying and the lies.

most of the time, complaints such as yours come from right wingers who simply don't want to be confronted with the truth of their actions, which have caused incomprehensible misery throughout the world, and the consequences of which this nation will be paying for generations.

if the right wingers can't stand the heat, perhaps they should get out of the kitchen.

Oh! Please! This is far from a progressive or anti-war site. This is a "News gathering site" period! The folks who frequently comment here are all over the political spectrum. What you have here is a lively discussion of current events from every perspective and yes on occassion it can be mean spirited. Debate often is heated and that's not a bad thing...it's healthy!

True story Midwest. It's politically popular to divide Americans into left and right, liberal and conservative. These words have lost their meaning. I'll say it again...All Americans have wants, needs, hopes and desires that overlap. You're either on the side of the bought and sold politicians or you're on the side of all the American people that are getting screwed by them.
Be careful which side you pick...
