Larry Craig And Wife Suzanne To Be Interviewed By NBC's Lauer

TV Newser reports NBC's Matt Lauer has successfully solicited (pun intended) the first network news interview with Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) since he pleaded guilty after being arrested in a men's bathroom.

Even better, Lauer will interview Craig's wife, Suzanne. A political woman hasn't stood by her scandal-struck man like this since...well, um...I guess since Wendy Vitter did this July for her escort-service husband Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) (watch the highly uncomfortable press conference). Suzanne Craig has never spoken out about Larry's bathroom bust.

Craig's stepchildren, Shea Howell and Michael Craig, are the only other members of his family who have spoken to the media on behalf of their father. They gave an interview to "Good Morning America" on Sept. 4, shortly after details of their father's arrest became public. Michael Craig claimed his father was "a victim of circumstance, in the wrong place at the wrong time."

According to NBC's press release, Matt Lauer's interview with Craig will air next Tuesday during a "Matt Lauer Reports" prime time special. Excerpts will also run during the "Today Show" on Wednesday morning.

Big deal. Matt Lauer is quite possibly the worst interviewer ever. He's a zero. I've never seen an interview of his where he didn't look like an idiot.

LARRY

It's NEVER TOO LATE TO TELL THE TRUTH

When and where you grew up.... I bet it was frightening.... to the point of hypocrisy and denial .... Self loathing, and punishing othes -- It must have been painful in a way

But those to who pledged your allegiance used your fear, and then kicked you to the curb in a heartbeat...

YOU OWE THEM NOTHING

TELL THE TRUTH TO AMERICA.... Help us stop them....

1. "a victim of circumstance" What the hell does this mean?

2. This whole deal is moving from the ridiculous to the downright stupid. What does Larry Craig think he is proving with these appeals? He certainly is not "clearing his name".

This is the right thing to do. Afterall, the cop was in the stall to the left of Craig, Matt was in the stall to the right.

Which one? Lauer or Craig? Lauer will do his usual fawning interview, gazing wide-eyed at Craig. Saw him interview Coulter once, and it gagged me. You would have thought she was the greatest woman on earth. Her feet were bigger than his!!!

I think it would be hillarious if the Today Show invited, Lisa Minnelli, Liz Taylor, Arianna, and Mrs McCreavy...and held an intervention for Mrs. Craig (for women who married a gay man,(or men in Lisa's case)

A new show, Queer Eye for the Straight Wife.

The Gay View?

Harvey Fierstein should do the interview.

"You were looking for Senator Craig love, was that so WRONG!"...Harvey.

Here's an insight into Larry Craig. When in Washington he lives on a boat in a marina on the Potomac River. The name of his first boat was the Ida-Ho. Ho has its own connotations.

It would be refreshing to hear the truth instead of all the denials. Having his wife as his beard won't work. The word is out. The cat is out of the bag.

I can imagine the Craig household having a bathroom with two stalls and a waist-high hole in the partition.

I know I'm horrible. So is he!

I can imagine in the Craig household a bathroom with two stalls, and a waist-high hole cut into the partition.

I know, I'm horrible. But so is he!

These cowards alway have to bring their wives to make them look respectable and need to appear straight.

Craig is a disgusting liar. I can only imagine what this puke of a human being said about Clinton when he lied about his affair.

Craig is a creep, but Billy C. is a rapist. There is a difference. Ask Juanita.

You don't have to imagine it - he said that Clinton was "a very naughty boy" and that Clinton therefore deserved to be impeached.
Compare Bush who is also a naughty boy, only one who murdered not only the English language but also around a million Iraquis and about 4,000 American soldiers. But for naughty boy 43 impeachment is off the table. I call that a wide stance.

I've actually come around to wishing Larry and his family well.... This has got to be tough, and a real opportunity for Larry to face his God Given Nature and tell the truth....

And the way the GOP kicked him to the curb, I hope he turns States Evidence, and brings them all down

While I have enjoyed the discomfort of the Republicans in the Senator Craig saga, a number of the preceding posts are disgusting. Gay bashing is no more pleasant when uttered by Democrats than by anyone else. Granted, Senator Craig is hypocritical, but being a closeted homosexual is not reason to drum him out of the Senate. Idaho elected him, let them be stuck with him. The Senate's Democrats should not push the ethics investigation, because Craig's conduct doesn't adversely reflect on the Senate. To do so would be intolerant. Plus, I want to see the Republicans stew in their juices some more.

After all that shoe tapping, and toilet paper retrieving in a men's loo, nothing he says will make me change my mind, that this man is the biggest hypocrite in Idaho.
