Reuters:

The award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Democrat Al Gore on Friday increases pressure on him to launch a late bid for the U.S. presidency, but advisers say he is showing no signs of interest in the 2008 race.

Gore, the former vice president who lost a Florida vote recount battle in the 2000 election to George W. Bush, has attracted growing support in recent days from thousands of Democratic activists who want him to enter the race.

I totally agree with you marypoppins. I think both Gore and Obama have too much going for them to be second person on a ticket with Hilliary.

Personally, I wish people would turn that around if there is any talk of a second person and say something like Obama/Hilliary. Obama has a lot of charisma. That is something Hilliary does not have.

Gore has good intentions; he would truly be a good President. Not sure he would be able to compete effectively against Hillary, too late in the game, unless he has 100MM in his pocket.

Do you believe Gore will run against Hillary?

It's interesting that the day Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize, in Obama's congratulations he mentioned a tibit that he had spoken to Gore last week. I think he has been speaking to Gore quite regulary. Gore will endorse Obama followed by a Christmas endsorement by Kennedy. Kennedy is another who has strong ties to both Clinton and Obama but he is in the position that the Clinton campaign can't bully or bribe him.

I don't think Gore will enter the primaries because it would be destructive to Obama and Edwards and I don't think he would want to do that. If Hillary wins the nomination I can see him running as an Independent in the general election as a means of keeping Hillary from winning. Anyone who thinks that Gore or Obama will run as a vp for Hillary is purely delusional. These are men who are reformers and they see the Clintons as Republican lights. I would love to see a Gore/Obama ticket.

Didn't this guy lose his own state in 2000? Don't waste your time.

I like Al Gore, but if he were elected president he would have to clean up the mess of the last eight years made by the man he defeated. Why would he want to do that?

I also hope he endorses John Edwards-Obama is for using nuclear energy and Edwards is not-No responsible person could support nuclear energy if they had all of the facts-It is a dead end dangerous energy that will eventually destroy the planet for 50 million years-Edwards is definitely the most environmentally savvy of all the candidates.

I would Vote for Al Gore, but why should he run.
He was betrayed by a Nation who allowed a corrupt Presidentaial election to stand.
John Kerry won as well.
We have exactly what we deserve.

Yeah. John Kerry won. Sure. Only in delusion land, buddy. Out here in the real world John Kerry was a failure from the git-go.

Though it would be a present to the world, Al Gore no longer fits the criteria to be an American President - the concept of "Noble Peace Prize Winner" and "American President" are so incongruent that they are virtually antonyms. It would also be a significant demotion. I would be very surprised if he did support Hillary - Obama has been the only one who opposed war on Iraq from the get-go, which should win him the support of a Nobel Peace Prize winner if anything. I personally think he (Obama) is the only one who can deliver the change that America needs to redeem its dignity - in its own eyes as well as that of the world. Wish you all luck!

Perhaps, Gore would hope (as I hope, in spite of much evidence to the contrary) that the "Christian-family values" Republicans would run a truthful campaign this time (don't forget that commandment that prohibits "bearing false witness")...a campaign that emphasises REAL ISSUES, one that is respectful of decent people and free from madeup-crapola and from sliming of innocent adopted children in order to get votes from racists and crapping on honorable military careers of combat vets in order to get votes from the dregs of our military..those who believe that joining the military gives one a right to kill civilians on whim...and from the terminally gullible who will believe anything.

At minimum, Gore and I can both hope that the American people have caught on to the disgusting Bushrovian manipulations of public opinion, their pushing the same disgusting crapola that continues to be spread here daily by trolls who are paid to sit in cubicles and slime in the hope that the dumbest of the dumb can be conned (again) into voting against their own best interests.

The image of America as the leader of the free world continues to be eroded. As a champion of democracy and justice, nobody looks to the US anymore.

Notwithstanding, America is still the leading economic and military power in the world.

Al Gore and his fight on the issue of global warming affords us an opportunity to reassert the US as the global leader on issues.

Bill Clinton and Al Gore can take this "Global Inclusion" message as Special Advisors to the President.

We need everybody to get involved. America needs to include China,Russia,India,Pakistan, and Africa in solving the world's problems.

We need to stand tall again.
Al Gore does not need to run for President, but he has the political savvy to know that he needs White House backing for Environmental Policy.

Bill Clinton will be one of our best Ambassadors for Global Policy Reform.

I hope Hillary will approach John Edwards to be VP. I hope she will pull the troops out of Iraq by June 2009. ( Bush is not going to do it and she has to be elected first). There will be no war with Iran. She will need to focus on domestic issues more.

So congratulations to Al Gore and the Science Team, and good luck to us all.

I heard last month from a well known insider, Gore will announce in MidOctober. I predicted it three weeks ago, here on huffpo.

I believe it is true, and predict it. The Nobel Prize guareentees it.
