Pul-eeeeze! The Price IS Right like any game show and in fact any talk show with an audience like the Letterman show etc have someone getting out there beofre the show to prep the audience and get it rev'd up, and telling them to go wild when the 'star' opens the show. They also have blinking "APPLAUSE" signs during the show.

What is all the fuss? It's the poor man's first day on the job and the REAL people watching are more concerned about the 10 ft. sailboat and trip to Cozumel than sending in their Mensa applications or making fun of Drew Carey. WTF is there to critique? Yeah, he's fat. So what? So is almost everyone watching. Bob Barker is old and DEAF. And so is nearly everyone watching. The guy goes from 2 suicide attempts to successfull comic on letterman/showtime- his own tv show that lasts 9 years which the last season he was making 750k an episode. Combine his other host gigs (whose line, price is right etc) and drew carey show syndication royalities on top of that....

Look, I'm not blowing the guy but I call that success.

As for politics, well- He did the correspondence dinner with bush in '02 and didn't tear him a new one but I didn't say I like him MORE than Colbert!

The set looks awful. I thought I was watching a show from the 70s. Drew Carey was not good. All I could think of was how great Bob Barker would have handled the strange contestants on the show today. Bring back Bob, please!

The first trime I ever saw Drew Carey on TV he was a contestant on the "Gong Show"! Now he's come full circle and has arrived back where he started.
It the old days it was usually the well dressed,big toothy smile,con man or "Snake Oil Salesman" type that hosted these saccharin, pain-in-the-ass tv game shows,maybe because other folks couldn't stomach the whole syrupy,glitzy and deceitful nature of these shows.It will be interesting to see just how long Drew lasts!
