The Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire Blog:

The third quarter disclosure reports out today indicate that Rudy Giuliani's campaign is actively returning checks in denominations that are tied to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, with eight returned checks to individual donors for $9.11, and one returned contribution of $911.

Giuliani, who was New York mayor at the time of the attacks, took some heat last month when reports surfaced that a group of California supporters were hosting a "$9.11 for Rudy" fund-raiser. Critics and presidential opponents said the former mayor was capitalizing off the terrorist attacks, but his campaign stressed that there was no direct connection between the individual donors and the campaign's fund-raising operation.

It's pretty disgusting to use those thousands of dead for your political gain.
But, what else would you expect from the Komedy quartet of George, Dick, Karl & Rudy.

Rudy decided the whole thing was in bad taste. He will now only take contributions for $3828. The number of U.S. Deaths Confirmed By The DoD. Sign-up now before the next big explosion.

I believe the number of overall deaths was around 2700, a fews hundred not being U.S. citizens.

Giving his highness Rudy a cheque for $9.11 is an insult to his senses. He still smarts from taking the funding out of communication equipment for firemen. Some people may think this contributed to so many firemen getting killed. Rudy knows they got killed because they got into harms way.....if they had done what he had done and shirked their duty...many would still be alive today.

Rudy Giuliani capitalizing off the terrorist attacks? "Who'd of thunk it." The next thing we're going to learn is that the Pope is Catholic and a bear craps in the woods!!

How did this fool become a hero on 9/11? He appeared on the street and acted like he knew what he was doing, while the President stayed up in the air, and Cheney went to his bunker When the truth is known regarding what really happened on that day, there will be a few less heroes. I have sent a link to a summary of Corporate News items regarding 9/11. . . http://www.wanttoknow.info/911information

The fool became a hero because people were just plain scared. They wanted a leader, any leader. Even W looked good. How bad is that? You can bet that old Rove, Cheney and Bush are cooking up a new brew to scare the hell out of Americans. Count on it.

Let him keep his $9.11,he earned it having to balance himself while standing on the backs of all those dead Americans. He is a waste of humanity.

How about a 9-11 line of clothing.

I'm surprised he hasn't tattooed "9/11" on his forehead - just in case people forget.

I heard his tiny yapping dogs are named Nine, One and One, and that his personal chili recipe is called "Four Alarm 9/11 Chili."

I'm ("9/11") also ("9/11") returning the dress ("9/11") and the wig ("9/11"). Then, I'm returning ("9/11") Bernie Kerik ("9/11")... if I keep it up ("9/11"), pretty soon I'll look ("9/11") like a guy with ("9/11") good judgement.

("9/11")

The big point is - and I'm not sure why none of his competitors are raising it - Rudy would be a joke candidate if 9/11 hadn't occurred in NYC while he was mayor.

Quite honestly it's still not clear to me what Rudy actually *did* regarding 9/11 that raises him above the level of any other minor bureaucrat. By contrast, Wikipedia has a list of no less than 24 Rudy scandals including cronyism with Bernie Kerik, doubling the NYC deficit, failing to attend a single meeting of the Iraq Study Group, etc. etc. etc.

That he is even a viable candidate speaks to the willing ignorance of the electorate. Sort of a given considering Bush's two-term fiasco...

Rudy did nothing more then show up on TV, talk like a big shot, and acted tough. The population of this country are so wrapped up in watching the crap on TV they relate to Rudi beacsue of this. I think it is stupid, but after all we have a moron occupying the whithouse now so Rudi is not a stretch.

Just out of curiosity I asked the people I currently work with in my red state -- approximately 20 people, 2/3 of whom are males -- the following question: If you were going to vote today for president, for whom would you vote and why? Every one who answered with a Democratic name immediately reeled off a laundry list of issues the country is facing, interestingly starting with economic ones and immediately following up with some version of "the war is wrong and we need to get out of Iraq," and following that with various social issues. Every person who didn't name a Democrat said "Rudy Giuliani" and they all gave only one reason and EXACTLY the same one. "Because he showed how tough he is on 9/11." When I followed up with the question, "Is toughness your only criterion for selecting a president?" they would stammer that "it's the only thing that's really important ... you need a tough person for a tough job ... etc."

In other words these men have NO OTHER REASON for liking Giuliani and they know NOTHING else about him except that he paraded around NYC on 9/11 wearing a baseball hat and yelling into a hand-held communicator. They liked the picture (just like they probably liked President Codpiece on Mission Accomplished Day) and they require nothing else except that picture. Hillary, Obama, Edwards, or even Gore can never beat that line of reasoning with ANY combination of words or deeds, so the question remains: exactly how many of these neanderthal voters are out there?

To be a NeoCon, you have to be personality disordered... something less than human...

I'm increasingly seeing this as a struggle for the future of the species.... Are humans, or sociopaths going to rule the world?

And absolutely it's a class struggle

And sociopaths --as we have seen-- have an advantage in a fight --because they are willing to do ANYTHING, NO MATTER HOW DESPICABLE....

things HUMANS wouldn't do
