Jessica Seinfeld appeared on Oprah last week to promote her cookbook "Deceptively Delicious" and one week later it is a national best-seller. Today, her husband Jerry is in the interview seat to promote his upcoming animated feature "Bee Movie," in which Oprah voices a judge. With Jessica in the front row, Oprah, walnut-sized diamonds dripping from her ears, told the audience what Jessica had sent to her instead of a note thanking her for last week's appearance. Shoes.

Jessica sent Oprah 21 pairs of shoes. From the shot that goes across the screen, the majority were Christian Louboutin kicks, which retail for $800-$1200 a pair. Just a $16,000-$20,000 thank you, from one multi-millionaire couple to their billionaire friend.

OPRAH IS NO MORE!

Oprah, about 5 years ago, was devoured by...
*******************
OPRAHZILLA!
*******************

It happened around the time that Barbra Streisand appeared on her show. The ego monster from Barbra somehow entered Oprah's body.

You can see it in the truly scary pics on every other month's cover of O magazine.

She looks like she will eat you alive.

Oprahzilla is scary.
She's not gay. Don't even say the word.
She will eat you. Not the way she eats Gayle.

Oprahzilla is completely lost in another world.
Oprahzilla actually believes that we agree with everything that she says, even though she is now in crazytown.

Her friends are now people like Tom Cruise, and other extremely egocentric nutballs.

Watch out! Oprahzilla is still gaining strength! She is a CAT 4 and getting stronger!

You have been warned. ********************

Takes an ego to know an ego, I guess.

Yeah, Oprah's got money. So what? There are far worse people in this world that are far wealthier than Oprah out there. But they're harder to go after because they're not celebrities.

Now, Michael Moore once made a documentary about the head of GM. Kicking Oprah takes no intelligence or work. She's a celeb. It's easy, they're on TV all the time and they draw attention to themselves. Everyone knows who they are so you automatically get the biggest audience. But a guy like Roger Smith, there's a name that most people wouldn't have had any clue about...and as it was, it took years for people to really "get" Roger and Me.

what charm did seinfeld have that he could entice a newly married woman to run away with him?

oh. i. see.

the ability to gift one of the richest women in the world with 21 very expensive shoes to "thank" her for publicizing a cook book that immediately ran itself up the best seller list.

oh. that charm. i see.

There was a Seinfeld episode where he dated a woman that looked like himself. When I saw his wife, she looks like him, too.

I feel very fortunate not to be in the least bit interested in celebrity worship and haven't turned on the Oprah Winfrey show in years. I'd rather decide what books to read and make my own decisions about things without the "advice" of tv personalities. I applaud her success but never forget, it's all about entertainment--- not a school of life training ground for anyone :>)

Oprah you were paid a fee like they'd pay to any advertising company - only you got a whole lot less than scale! But it is so great to schmooze - only realize if Jerry had another show you couldn't get a regular role in it - not because of your color so much but because your ethnicity isn't special enough!

Next thing....Diane Sawyer giving Oprah a starring role in her hubbie Mike Nichols next film. Send in your gift ideas for Oprah.

Celebrities fawning over one another is revolting to watch. And the richer they are the more obnoxious it is. (But such fun to diss!) An unpublicized thank you note and flowers would have sufficed.

lol I agree...

It's one reason my husband hates watching the awards shows. He calls them just a big "suck-fest... Everybody sucking up admiring how great they think they are, when if fact, they're all a bunch of assholes who don't know shit."

The only time Oprah ever showed anything like courage was the All-White Town in the South that Hates Blacks episode in which Oprah confronts town residents about their prejudices.
Everything else has been a one-stop shopping express to hawk her "friends" products, movies, books, or her "favorite things" freebies for screaming audience members who think they've died and gone to heaven. Sick of all the celebs who take advantage of viewer's worshipful, unquestioning fawning over Oprah.

Oprah publicly opposed racism? That's such a bold move.

What is incredibly hideous about this is how nouveaux Oprah and Jessica are in making so very public Oprahs *gift* and Jessicas elephant sized appreciation. Repulsive.
Money used to be somthing that was a private affair. At least when it came to those especially well funded. It was a matter of both manners and good taste. Neither of these woman have *any*. ( see: Jessica ( once Nina) hooking up with Jerry upon her immediate return from her nuptuals. To another man . Selective morality would seek to now make that a shiny penney - Oprah: " how did you know Jerry was the one, Jessica?" . UGH! Poseurs.
I used to enjoy Oprah. I've struggled thru a few shows this year and today was *it*.
it was like watching a car accident. I felt diry by association.

she has really lost touch

If you watched her show last season ...recapping her trip across the USA by car .... Ophrah has lost touch with everyday America....she is wealthy and certainly earned it ... but has no clue about realities of life for most Americans.....

oh well

I think that most of America actually enjoys Oprah's displays. That's why her ratings are so high.
Do you see the way these women scream and cry when Her Royal Highness walks onto the set? Arrrgggghhh!!!

I quit watching Oprah years ago. Sometimes, if she has someone interesting on I might try to stomach 5 or 10 minutes, but that's about all I can stand of her interrupting and making everything about herself.
But this is what Joan Q. Public wants...so those left with taste and culture are left to comment on sites like these when she makes a headline.

As for Jerry and Jessica...I was such a fan of his until he married her. I can't even look at him anymore.
I like the phrase Kirkland used "selective morality". Good one!
Oprah and her minions have the ability to take any book and make it into a best seller, but I've got to say that I will never and have never bought a book with the Opral Seal of Approval on it.

I would never vote for a candidate she endorses. Never liked her show nor do I watch it. I can smell hypocricy from a mile away.

Sathmobaby,

It's a contest between the number of times she uses the word 'fantastic' and the number of 'life changing' moments she has on her show. Currently they are running neck and neck.

I am assuming that this is Mrs. Seinfelds way of giving Oprah a "21 shoe salute".

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:52 PM on 10/15/2007

Sadly, Oprah's show has become huckstering products and flacking publicity for all her "fantastic" (is someone counting how often she says that word?) rich and famous friends. I gave up eating out for the first time in a couple of years last Saturday, so I could send the paltry $20 I would've spent to help the child bride victims shown on PBS' "NOW" show Friday night. Oprah and the Seinfelds don't give up anything to contribute, even if it's for an entire precious academy. It's the percentage of income given that tells the true story. (And, by the way, Mrs. Seinfeld's book is said to be awfully similar to one, The Sneaky Chef, previously published by a nobody.)

Maybe she knows something about oprah's foot fetish that the rest of us judgemental folks don't. I think "disgusting" is rather a hyperbolic description of a non sequitor. I bet in a few days we'll hear about plans to auction this Jessica Seinfeld-Oprah gift giving to raise money for a worthy cause - like Obama's campaign....
