Idaho Senator Larry Craig and his wife sat down with "Today host Matt Lauer to break their silence and talk about his guilty plea in a sex sting at an airport bathroom. Craig answered a question about why he didn't tell his wife about the arrest until the press was about to break the story months later. We suspect that his reluctance to tell his wife stemmed less from his "embarrassment" and more from his desire to keep the arrest as quiet as possible. After all, Craig had a Senate career and a marriage to protect. From NBC 10/16

This poor man is determined to go through the rest of his life living a lie. And to prove his innocence he will continue to use his influence to discriminate against gays. When I watched his interview with Matt Lauer I kept wondering why Matt, or anyone for that matter, has not asked Craig to simply take a lie detector test. Wouln't that go along way to resolving his insistence he is misunderstood? I think the answer is evident. Both he and his "wife" have way too much to loose.

I agree lippp, people should demand that he take a lie detector test. someone should ask him if he is willing to do that!!!

Larry Craig is Hell bent on making the Republicans pay for abandoning him, even if it hurts them at the polls.

He has been a loyal Nazi and expects to be supported during his time of need.

I think it was his "needs," that got him into this mess in the first place. But, that's what he gets for trying to live a double life. If he had any courage at all, he would have come out of the closet years ago. But, you can't be a republican politician without a wife, so larry went out and got himself one. She deserves no pity either.

A proud, "upstanding member" of the Gay Old Party.

Fairly Odd Larry ain't foolin' anyone.

The guy likes guys -- not a problem with me or 75% of America who views the homosexuality issue as a big -- so what?

The guy however is also a pervert -- airport bathroom sex? I think on this issue he loses about 75% of America.

Gay -- okay. Heterosexual guy having an affair -- maybe okay (but let's face it it happens). Being gay and searching out bjs in airport bathrooms -- that is kinky, weird and vulgar. YUCK!

Actually it's not really kinky or weird. It's quite normal in middle America. I'll agree with you on the vulgar though.

I'm a gay guy but I've never had sex in a bathroom. Just the thought of the germs gives me the wiggins like you have no idea. *cringe*

People who have sex in public bathrooms are overwhelmingly looking for one thing -- a quick release with no ties, no consequences. Sort of like equating sex with going to the toilet, if you will.

I read somewhere or other that, OF those people, by far the majority identify themselves as either totally straight or mostly straight. As I recall, it was only about 14% who self-identified as gay.

At any rate, it might be the equation of sex = toilet that explains why people would go a-cottaging, whether or not you and I think of the practice as dirty and vulgar. It's a whole different mindset.

A total piece of crap. He went back on his word that he would resign.

Why should anybody believe this pervert?

Craig, you are a washroom fag. Admit, you have been accused for years. Now you got caught. Your a two face and I hope the good people of Idaho throw your sorry ass out.

I tend to agree that anyone with over 8 years in D.C. has been corrupted and needs to go.

Whether or not Craig is guilty, I would hope that he has at least learned from this experience. This has, hopefully, been a rude awakening for Craig, as he has gotten a taste of the b.s. that gay people have to endure everyday at the hands of homophobic, hypocritical dullards just like him. I am sure I am expecting way too much from this senile old coot, but hope springs eternal.

He is guilty. He plead guilty. What more do you need. If he is able to overturn his plea — which is vv unlikely — there will be a long, long line of defendants wanting to change their pleas from G, to NG and the courts will not stand for that.
Mr Craig IS a Senator and I believe he above all others, should know and understand about the making and enforcement of laws. And the consequence and penalties there may be for violating said law; or at least being caught in the act.
But, fortunately — for the other side of the aisle — as long as he stays in his seat in the Senate — he will be a very visible reminder of what the Republican party is all about. Hypocrisy, Hate and Harm to the people of the US.

"Learned from his experience"!?!?! This old fart doesn't even have enough brain activity to realize how stupid he is!!! He probably burned out his brains doing poppers while getting reamed in a bathroom stall. I bet he has someone to lead him around, wipe his chin, and tell him what to say. He probably barely recognizes his own wife.

He hasn't learned. The only thing he seems to have learned is, that when you get arrested, it is a good idea to consult a lawyer.
He seems to have learned nothing of the virtue of truth. He seems to have learned nothing about his own sexual orientation. The GOP won't allow him to be gay, and he hates the fact that he is gay and has to hide his lies, while other, braver gays live their lives openly and without shame. Craig is filth of the worst kind.

You what Larry Craig has learned?

How to give better head. As well he should. He's been at it long enough.

What has he failed to learn?

The difference between an undercover cop and rough trade.
