I know this is going to be rough for us as a society, but I see a silver lining at least from a younger generational perspective. One of the most fractious and meliciously divisive eras in US political and social history began with the baby boomers and hopefully has crested with them. This signals the beginning of the next generation's take over of power. God willing we will do a better job than the baby boomers in getting things done in a civil and negotiated/give and tack manner. It may be too much to hope for, but the potential is there. Perhaps we learned to be divisive from the baby boomers, but hopefully we can overcome that.
