More than a third of the top fundraisers who helped elect George W. Bush president remain on the sidelines in 2008, contributing to a gaping financial disparity between the GOP candidates and their Democratic counterparts.

Scores of Bush Pioneers and Rangers are not working for any Republican candidate, citing discontent with the war in Iraq, anger at the performance of Republicans in Congress and a general lack of enthusiasm. More than two dozen hav

-- "The Republican brand is not selling very well," said Christine Todd Whitman ... --

What?! A brand of corruption, gross incomptence, cronyism, treason, a $9 trillion debt, $37 trillion in unfunded liabilities, a $3 billion a week war without end isn't selling well?

I think it's an overall sense of malaise and discontent that is keeping most fundraisers away from the GOP. Of course, the lack of any exciting candidates also helps.

Why do you think the money is not coming in to the GOP? http://youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=727

Contributing to the GOP is now tantamount to supporting the undermining of the U.S. Constitution. That could be VERY bad for business. A-hem....

I want a president who represents and serves the majority of America"s "people". I want a president with "more" integrity than ambition who defends our Constitution and rules of law; not one who schemes to circumvent them to gain "more" power. I don't want a president who imposes his/her definition of "Christianity" on others or who insinuates them into politics, laws or government policies. I believe in a legitimate separation of church and state. I don"t believe in exploitation. I don't want a president who gives tax breaks to the rich, while denying health care to children and working families. I don't want a Republican in the White House. They harm too many lives and serve the needs of too few Americans. They don"t care "enough" about the lives of America"s "people" and care "too much" about their "own". There is no brotherhood or charity in their sanctimonious hearts. They claim they are independent individualists, when in fact they are profiteers and power hungry bullies motivated by a selfish need for "more" when they already have "more than enough" and or "much more than everyone else". They don"t care how many suffer as long as they get "more".

The definition of The Golden Rule stated by Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount didn"t declare that the "wants" of an "individual" for "more" and or "access" were "more" important than the "needs" of those much less fortunate. Anyone who calls him/herself a Christian and doesn"t live by Jesus" Golden Rule is exemplifying opposition to his definition of Christian values. Christians don"t pick and chose which of Jesus" words they live by or ignore. No Christian should "want" to have "more", while "others" have "too little". Today"s Republicans don"t represent virtue; they embody the unholy soul destroying evil of AVARICE.

Matthew 7:12
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

ChiGuy, and this is related to the topic.

This is not that good of a thing if you are a diehard democrat. Because this proves YOUR party is now a party of the fat-cats, also. And when you have the rich donors, just remember, it means you got to repay the IOU's.

The United corporations of American and non American states, has reinvested in the Democrat's camp. The king is dead long live the King, or Queen - kinda like - the more things change, the more they remain the same. If the will of the people ever mattered for much, we would have gotten out of Iraq by now. Nothing that you, me or anyone else is going to do will alter much until there is regulation of both church and business in the running of our affairs, a real separation and legally bound. Clinton is much of the same, more of a business appeaser than a lackey as with the shrub but it's a man's world ultimately - I hope she survives and how much will it cost her and ultimately us!

WHY IS IT WASHINGTON INSIDER'S - LOVE KILLING
NATIVE-AMERICAN-INDIAN'S ???

AND WHY IS IT IDIOT'S - RUSH OUT AND SAY THATS A GOOD THING ???

So Once Again - The Native American Indian - Religion
Is Under Attack ....

Were Not The Genocide's - GOOD Enough For Them ???

IS NOT THE THIRD WORLD POVERTY ON RESERVATION'S - GOOD ENOUGH
FOR THOSE WHO PROCLAIM - THE AMERICAN GENOCIDE'S ARE GOOD ???

A Pipe Holder in the Native American way can mean many different
things depending on your nation and locality. The pipe is sacred
to Native Americans and respected by all Native people for it is
the messenger or instrument used for the transport of prayer.
Because one picks up a pipe, it does not make that person a Pipe
Holder, at least not in a traditional way. Nor does it make the
one who does hold a pipe a holy person.

My people are Plains people, and the pipe was given to us from
the White Buffalo Calf Woman. This is a story in itself, and talks
about the Red Stone used in the pipe. Also we have the Black Stone
pipe, and the story that goes with that is about Eagle Child.

Regardless of what people, the pipe represents the great powers of
first grandmother and first grandfather, and the balance of male
and female.

The bowl is about the sacredness of the woman's womb and of woman,
the giver of life, and our Mother Earth, from which all life comes.
The tobacco used within the pipe"s bowl (kinnicknick) represents
all of our Mother's children.

A Pipe Holder holds those prayers in the tobacco and sends those
prayers for the people. A Pipe Holder must be generous in spirit,
a giver of life, dedicated to the people, the earth and all living
things; and have the courage to live his life in as good a way as
possible.

Just saw Bush's joke of a press conference. His petulant message?

Its all congress' fault! They won't pass legislation fast enough, but when they do pass important legislation, like SCHIP, we (the White House) aren't "dialed in" and will VETO IT!

Not "dialed in" WTF?

Lord Dubya Pissypants isn't "dialed in?" Maybe if he stopped spying on us, he would find the time to be DIALED IN to current legislation?

Now the troops can't get supplies because the Turks are going to level Kurdistan, the main supply route.

How will the Bush chastise a Nato ally, when they tell him to go to hell and worry about his own military invasions, and keep his booze soaked probiscus out of theirs?

I hate to play the Devils' Advocate (that's a lie actually I love to play the Devils' Advocate), but could it be the Repubs want the Dems to win in 08? Whoever wins will inherit a mess unlike anything since Reconstruction in the South in 1866. Let Hillary take the rap for 'losing' Iraq the economic fallout etc. Hold back the dollars and let the Dems clean upn the mess. Then come back in 2012.

But you see, it's deceptively simple. All President Clinton has to do is pull out of Iraq, and its over. End of the matter. All the overanalyzing that's been done in the MSM about the consequences is pure bull-Couric.

Would it be surprising if the media suddenly started reporting what was actually happening in Iraq right after a pull out? Really, nothing changed or it might even improve, but if the news actually started REPORTING the numbers, it will look like a big jump in death.

I'm not saying that this should change our desire to end this fiasco, just saying that it is a likely scenario from our corporate media.
