Sen. Barack Obama maintained his fundraising advantage over Sen. Hillary Clionton in his home state of Illinois, but the gap was smaller than in previous quarters.

Detailed Federal Election Commission reports filed overnight show Obama raised $1.66 million in Illinois during the period from July through September, while Clinton netted $1.13 million. Clinton held several large fundraisers in Chicago near the end of the reporting period.

Unfortunately, Obama has not recovered from the blow that Hillary delivered sometime ago. Ever since she has capitalized on accusing Obama that he is not experienced. The truth of the matter policy is a choice that one choses to lead with. Obama made a big mistake by reversing on some of his statements on foreign policy and that showed people that he was either wrong or weak.

In your opinion who do you believe has a better Foreign Policy?

Who ever wrote this should be fired immmediately as this is just piss poor journalism. First of all, in case everyone forgot, the NY jr. Senator is actually from IL. Not surprising that she would have contacts there still. What is surprising is that it took her three quarters to catch up to a candidate that is new to the national scene and doesn't have Bill Clinton campaigning with him. Just as important, how much money has Obama raised in her new home town of NYC? Basically this whole story is just BS and Hillary spin. And by the way, can any other candidate, including Hillary, raise over 1 million dollars in less than 24hrs as Barack did yesterday, by simply saying it was time to get rid of Hillary.

Here's the latest!!! The Sun-Times states that Obama and George Bush are 11th cousins, and Obama and Cheney are ninth cousins once removed. Now THAT's one bizarre family tree!!!

There are some wealthy interests in Illinois. But they do not waste their money. They get quid pro quo.
And quo vadis, America!
But it is very interesting that so much focus is on the ability to raise money. Can we equate that ability with the ability to convince those with the control of funds that those funds will buy a compliant pol?

LMAO, that it took her three quarters to come close to catching up when she has Bill with her and transfered 10 million from her senate campaign. And in case you forgot, IL is her home state, genius.

OK, whenever Barack Hussein's banners appear on this board, this 'offthebus' starts posting gushy and mushy stuff on Cheney's 8th cousin! Earlier I thought it was a coincidence but it seems more like a shadow BHO campaign set-up to me ...

But then, his candidacy is spiralling downwards and nothing can help him anymore ...

Reporting on fundraising by candidates is lazy journalism. You call the campaign fundraiser and ask for figures.

To report on the substance of a candidate's platform requires more work. You must research their past actions and statements on an issue, frame questions that will return substantive answers rather than pablum, and write a story which provides the reader with a clear sense of the candidate's position.
