Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani on Tuesday ridiculed Democratic rival Barack Obama for saying he would meet, without precondition, with leaders of renegade nations.

The Obama campaign answered back, arguing that Giuliani may not want to engage in diplomacy with outlaw leaders but he's been willing to take their money.

Flattery will get you nowhere Rudy, just keep the compliments flying. Is it that you mean that Obama doesn't have Alzheimer's like Reagoon did for his last term in office? Or are their other factors about Reagoon that are unknown? Please elucidate Rudy.

I'm thinking this is a compliment, but of course the myth of Reagan's "greatness" is pervasive, almost as much as it is bogus.

Write your Representatives and Congressmen and get this passed! I challenge all Democrats and all Liberals to support this....something that will restore your constitutional rights to practice what you preach.

No, Obama is no Reagan. He's intelligence, informed and capable. He is not suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and is in full possession of his considerable faculties. No, he's no Reagan. He won't pick on little countries that cannot defend themselves (Grenada) and run as soon as things get tough (Lebanon). He won't drive us into bankruptcy and call it prosperity. He won't run the country like it was founded on, by and for rich people only. No, he's no Reagan.

I notice that Obama and Dick Cheney are related - ninth cousins.

Dick is obviously the black sheep of the family.

It is amazing that our insipid MSM allows the current crop of republican candidates to float the notion that the Reagan administration represented this great period of governance in American history. They seem to bow down and ignore that Reagan was the first successful PR presidency which did more to destroy the middle class and its unions than any modern president. And, after only 12 years of having Civil Rights implemented, he destroys the momentum and spirit of these new laws by stacking the justice department with cronies who refused to obey and prosecute cases that reflected the US government former policies of national shame.

He leads a brigade of conservatives who rationalized that 12 years had resolved 300 years of racial segregation and injustice. Such behavior is the reason why racism still morally divides this nation, not Sharpton or Jackson antics, but 'failed leadership' of whites, like Reagan who ignored the long-term effects of fostering a hostile racial climate in America.

He also operated Iran contra outside the purview of Congressional oversight, to raise money to wage conflicts--a sin which should have led to his impeachment before this same Congress. Yet, his name is raised as having been this 'shinning star on the hill' who made America a better place to believe.

I think, that when some today squarely place blame on George Bush for the failing state of America, they ignore the predecessors who laid the groundwork for our mailaise. Bush could not have advanced the sour mood that many perceive is sign that our government isn't working for us, without his ideological precessors who skirted laws, did not anticipate a multi-cultural demographic and committed similar criminal activities.

Otherwise, we are giving George Bush too much credit in a sort of backhanded way.

Hopefully Rudy is correct-one Ronald Reagan is more than enough. If St. Ronald and his administration had dedicated more resources to intelligence gathering and less to missile deployment they would have realized that the Soviet Union was going to collapse under the weight of its own corruption and incompetence regardless of what they said or did. Of course, that"s assuming that there was an interest in the Soviet Union beyond its function as a boogieman to provide justification for stoking the defense industry. At any rate, it"s now apparent that the Republican Party is well on its way to experiencing a Soviet style implosion, and for similar reasons-all accelerated, of course, by the logical conclusion to the Reagan era-G.W. Bush and his gang of morally and ideologically bankrupt hypocrites.

Guiliani says Obama no Reagan? Well thank God for that! Ray gun omics.

From Wikipedia:

The policies were derided by some as "Trickle-down economics,"[9] due to the facts that the combination of significant tax cuts and a massive increase in Cold War related defense spending caused large budget deficits,[10] the U.S. trade deficit expansion,[10] and contributed to the Savings and Loan crisis,[11] as well as the stock market crash of 1987, which is debated. In order to cover new federal budget deficits, the United States borrowed heavily both domestically and abroad, raising the national debt from $700 billion to $3 trillion,[12] and the United States moved from being the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation.[13] Reagan described the new debt as the "greatest disappointment" of his presidency.[12]

Kind of sounds like Bush-enomics. Of course, having lived through two Bushes and a Raygun, I know where all three have left my family and it isn't pretty.

It sounds exactly like the policies which Bush has advanced. The raiding of the treasury to give money to a few, primarily white males is clearly Affirmative Action, except that there is no demonization factor to exploit; since, many believe giving untold amounts of wealth to rich white men is functional: that it will strengthen the economy and keep America vital and strong in the face of its enemies. Whereas, giving untold wealth to non-whites are hand-outs, quotas and 'Affirmative Action.'

One group who gets government money is good, the other group who gets government money is bad; and they are too lazy to get those things for themselves. While, it may be true for a percentage of receiptants, the brush was painted far too broad but limited, as it did not account for the former group who are taking taxpayer money even as they incompetently contribute to their industry failures while landing softly on the ground, courtesy of their 'golden parachutes.'

The bailout of the airline and transportation industry is a reminder that 'free rides' depends on one's definition of what is 'is' in America, and it always has been this way.
