Sen. John Ensign, who chairs the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, made clear to CNN's Wolf Blitzer Wednesday he wants embattled Idaho Sen. Larry Craig to leave the Senate -- immediately.

"The senator said that by the end of September, if the guilty plea was not overturned, if he was not reestablished on his seniority on committees, that he would resign," said Ensign, a Republican representing Nevada. "Neither one of those things are going to happen. I call on Sen. Craig, if he loved the Senate and his party, he would keep his word. "

This pompous ass is the embodiment of the RepubliKLAN. Hillary? Shrill? Compared to this shrieking popinjay, ahe's Mary Tyler Moore.

His enormous ego won't let him go quietly...this is the most attention he's ever had or WILL ever have. Proof that the gargantuan capacity for cruelty by the RepubliKLAN is strictly for attention sake, and they will even screw each other over to get it.

As a libertarian I must say: don't the police have better things to do than troll bathrooms looking to entrap somebody?

Apparently, the Minneapolis Airport mens room was a hot spot for sexual deviates, and normal men were tired of being harrassed by trolling perverts, such as Craig.

I guess the word "entrapment" is a convenient substitute for "caught in the act of perverted behavior." Hopefully, the pervs have been driven out of this and other public places where normal people live and work.

Heck i hope Craig stays for his full turn. i bet he can still do a lot of tap dancing in the public rest rooms.
What a piece of work saying he CLEANED the toilet tissue off the bottom of his foot. This is too damn funny.
and this is the party of family values.
What family? Mansons

"What a piece of work saying he CLEANED the toilet tissue off the bottom of his foot. This is too damn funny."

And he ALSO leaves his bathrooms at home nice & tidy, and ALWAYS remembers to leave the toilet seats down.

Officer Karsnia: "How many times did you put your hand under the stall?"

Larry Craig: "I don't recall. I remember reaching down once. There was a piece of toilet paper back behind me and picking it up."

NOW WAIT JUST A MINUTE! Was toilet paper "stuck to his shoe", or "back behind him", or BOTH?

SWEEPING his LEFT hand around his WIDE STANCE, Craig managed to dislodge toilet paper from under his RIGHT shoe that was TAP, TAP, TAPPING back behind him, whilst seated atop a toilet taking a crap and holding onto the dirty, nasty toilet paper to REUSE, and not flushing the toilet to SAVE water.

Closeted Craig must be quite the CONTORTIONIST & CONSERVATIONIST!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

This is too funny. Stephanie Miller is having such fun with this, it would be a shame if Larry Craig resigned.

We need a wall of shame website (is there one?) where Republicans and Democrats alike who have cfrapped on the American People are shown in text, audio and video for who they really are.

Oh yeah, haha, Crooks and Liars!

Craig needs to come to grips with the fact that he is a sexual deviate, admit it publicly, and then resign.

Bystander, Craig is a hypocrite but not a deviant. Despite what you may think, homosexuality is not deviant behavior.

Eoin45, see my response to hannitizer above. I respect your view, but I don't agree with it. I do agree, however, that Craig is a hypocrite. Craig talked the talk, but he did not walk the walk. He knew better, but he disregarded his sense of right and wrong and did wrong.

Surely you don't regard his behavior in the airport mens room as "normal" / "non-deviant" behavior, do you?

What about the people who choose him to be their representative? Tough luck the guy is gay? Not that there is anything wrong with that?

Come on the real reason they want Craig gone is so the GOP can pretend they are the party of family values. Some Values¦

Perversion, like corruption, cuts across party lines. Conservatives and liberals have significantly different world views, family values being among them. Conservatives who are exposed for their corruption and perversion tend to be shamed, while liberals tend to not be shamed. In fact, liberal miscreants tend to be celebrated for their sexual immorality by their follow liberals...for example, Gerry Studds (homosexual pedophile), Bill Clinton (philanderer). Sexual deviates that are also conservatives, such as Mark Foley and Larry Craig, have not lived up to conservative moral standards, and accordingly, should be and are rebuked by conservatives. It's more difficult to shame liberals for such actions because they dismiss if not condone the perversions..."it's only sexual preference." I suppose eventually, with the help of the ACLU and other organizations of their ilk, pedophilia will be promoted by liberals as simply another "sexual preference."

I'm sure you agree.

I think it's highly hypocritical for the repubs in the Senate to demand Craig resign but let Sen Diaper Boy Vitter to stay on. I hope Craig stays until the end of his term, so Dems can use it as an election issue. Let's see if they bring up family values in the 2008 elections. All Dems have to say if they do is Craig, Vitter and Foley.

Anti-gay hatred molded Craig and turned him into the lying hypocritical freak he is today. Perfectly fitting that the party that wins elections by stoking this hatred should be stuck with him. Go, Larry.

Craig said to officer Karsnia, "You shouldn't be out to entrap people."

Well don't that "beat" all! Craig had no qualms nor complaints about the entrapment of GAYS in public restrooms...UNTIL HE got caught with his pants down!

Feeling disrespected, Karsnia told Craig, "You're sitting here lying to a police officer. I know what I'm doing, and I say you put your hand under there. Was your gold ring on your RIGHT hand at any time today?"

Without hesitation, Craig said, "Of course not! Try to get it off, look at it."

"Try to get it off, look at it." (his RING. EARLIER, his THING!?)

Again, Karsnia yelled at Craig that he saw his LEFT hand "with my own eyes."

"He saw it with his own eyes." (his LEFT HAND. EARLIER, anyTHING else!?)

"All right, you saw something that didn't happen," Craig said softly.

HAND it to Craig to ONCE AGAIN call officer Karsnia a LIAR, during Matt Lauer's interview.

HOPEFULLY, officer Karsnia had a hidden camera "in-stalled". A VISUAL of Craig going through the motions ought to do the trick!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

I don't think the police have to put that card out on the table now that the judge has denied the motion to vacate the guilty plea. (There is an appeal, I guess.)

Also, yesterday someone asked about pix of the RO Karsnia. They seem to all have disappeared from the net. Because he's "undercover"?

Perhaps.

That colloquy about "now you're lying about what happened" after Craig was Mirandized:

I thought that was a set-up for an additional charge of obstruction of justice. If Craig really wanted to get aggressive about his "entrapment" claim.

My recollection of the recording was that somewhere in the middle Craig realized the interview was not just "chat" but, like Martha Stewart, he might actually be charged for something he said in the interview itself.

Denial of what a video might show. So then he started saying "I didn't remember it that way" instead of "I did not do that."

The polls in Idaho show most people want
CRAIG OUT - well OUT - as their Senator.
But this liar, fraud will ignore the will of
the people and remain in office. What a pathetic
piece of crap this guy is. Perhaps he will
try to introduce new bills that attempt to
hurt and "punish" gay people in anyway possible.
And his wife in that interview with Matt Lauer
was all smiling and so happy. And she commented,
"if he left the Senate, it wouldn't be the
same." What the hell does that mean?
She couldn't play "The Senator's Wife" - how
pathetic to have people play out these roles,
and act out these LIES. They will ignore the
will of the people of Idaho - the people of
Idaho should DEMAND - CRAIG BE REMOVED - NOW!

I watched Pat Buchanan try to justify Craig's position of homosexuality, vis-a-vis his rhetoric and rejection of same sex marriage, while engaging in gay sex. Buchanan's take on it was that someone could take a position on an issue and yet be weak and fall prey to temptation. I agree that this is possible, but Craig was so overly critical in his approach that he still must be considered a hypocrite and not just a victim of his own carnal desires.

"I watched Pat Buchanan try to justify Craig's position of homosexuality."

A few weeks ago on MSNBC's Dan Abram's Show, that RAGING HOMOPHOBIC Pat Buchanan said homosexuality is a "DISEASE", and then proceeded to EXCUSE Craig's "temporary fall from grace"...because afterall, "sometimes MORTAL men just STRAY"! But that's OK, BECAUSE "Craig's taken the MORAL path in life to NEVER HAVE SINNED, to NEVER HAVE BEEN a GAY, to NEVER HAVE CHOSEN the LIFESTYLE.

YES, Craig's taken the MORAL path in life to COWARDLY COWER in the CLOSET!!!

I was SO PROUD of Joan Walsh from Salon.com, who interrupted Pat Buchanan, in mid sentence, to CHASTIZE & CONDEMN him for calling homosexuality a "disease"!

Dear Loretta,
Let me be clear; I do not say that I in anyway agree with even the presuppositions about homosexuality, espoused by Buchanan; I was merely stating that even if this IS how Craig sees himself (as a weak, unable to live up to his beliefs person), he is still a hypocrite because of the virulent way he publically conducted himself. Perhaps I needed to emphasize that more. I have no arguments with you; I agree with all of your points.

Pat has a disease. the symptoms are; picking party over responsibility, short-term memory loss, lack of coherent logical reasoning, forgiveness of one of your party when previously condemming actions by those of a different party, repetition of conveluded talking points, and finally, saying just about anything to somehow remain in the public realm. The disease is called nomoreusareimportantous, or old-washedup-rebulicanitis. Pat are you gay?

Buchanan exemplifies the religious right's idiotic view of homosexuality - it's akin to alcoholism and drug addiction. Who's better the habitual drunk or the guy who occassionally falls off the wagon? This fails to explain celibate gays or teenage gays who've never had sex, so they're forced to deny there's such a thing as sexual orientation - it's a choice, until you ask them if they're not straight, then there is such a thing, and fast.
