AP:

Attorney General-designate Michael Mukasey is headed for swift approval with scant objections, the powerful Democrat who will chair his confirmation hearings said Tuesday.

"I would expect him to be confirmed," Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., told reporters after meeting with the former federal judge.

"I like Judge Mukasey," Leahy added. "I want him to succeed."

Well why even bother to hold a hearing and ask the judges opinion on the most salient issues facing a politicized DOJ in American history. Just shake his hand or kiss his ass and send him on his way. I am so sick of the congressional Democrats that I want to puke all over them.

I don't see any difference between Gonzo the Bozo and Mukasy. You're kidding this guy is worse than BOZO.

In your opinion should Michael Mukase be confirmed by the Senate as Attorney General? ----> http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=713

Let's see. Which is more likely?

Leahy and Schumer found a moderate guy for AG who is willing to stick up for the rule of law and say "no" to Bush, and George went along with it.

OR

Democrats are assisting George Bush in fucking this country over by appointing another pro-police state douchebag under the guise of bipartisanship.

Any guesses?

Plowboy has it nailed! Our leading Democrats are the same as the Busdh Republicans. Who serves the American People?
This man is evil. He will be worse than Gonzales, who was worse than Ashcroft, who was frighteningly bad.
Our politicians are not blind. So their approval should inform us --of something.

Hopefully he will be the equivalent of Eliot Richardson after Nixon's 'midnight massacre' during Watergate. If so, start interviewing HIS successor.

Of course, he will be approved. He supports torture, secrecy and domestic spying. The Democrat who will replace Bush will want these things. After all the same policcies will remain, in spite of the American people who oppose them.
Democracy, Shamocracy! So long as we serve our masters.

If he is a Bush appointee, there must be some crippling skeleton behind him. Anyone know what it is?
