Joey Bishop, the stone-faced comedian who found success in nightclubs, television and movies but became most famous as a member of Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack, has died at 89.
He was the group's last surviving member. Peter Lawford died in 1984, Sammy Davis Jr. in 1990, Dean Martin in 1995, and Sinatra in 1998.

A piece of my heart slipped away when I heard this.The Rat Pack is so bound up with my memories of my father that this news was like losing Dad all over again.
I put a Sinatra CD in the stereo and had a martini...

One of a dwindling number of entertainers from that era.
I never thought Joey was that funny but he was on occasion pretty good. Nonetheless I would have loved to have seen them perform live in Vegas during those years.
Must have been something.
RIP once again to those who have gone on.

Clean living.
Bishop was really a funny man. Never mean spirited and never invilved in any scandals. Probably the only one of the origninal rat pat who was truely a gentleman too. RIP.
