They might have a war chest in the bank and a candidate who draws rock star crowds, but that doesn't mean Barack Obama supporters aren't getting the jitters as primary season rapidly approaches.

After all, despite the good press and enthusiasm surrounding Obama, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has stayed solidly ahead in both polls and conventional wisdom.

"Fluffy's" days are numbered as a lot of his (ex) wide-eyed supporters are realizing that he IS truly green behind the gills and that his candidacy is all fluff! Hence his new nickname ... FLUFFY!!!

Step it up? As much as I admire this man, what if 'this' is all he has? Must he now go outside of himself to curry donor favor, and become beholden to some sinister variant of the tri-lateral commission or star chamber-type panel. Hell, the devil'd give him a better price. I'm not the only one who believes the Senator is too green this time up. Getting plenty of seasoning though in the meantime.

Barack who? Biden, Dodd, and especially, Richardson are out there with a message.

I would vote for Richardson before I'd vote for Obama.

I would have hoped that Barack would have joined Chris Dodd in protesting the push for granting immunity to the telecoms in the face of news that the telecoms were breaking the law and betraying the republic and the public prior to 9/11. We are only slightly existing outside the definition of FASCISM. And I would make an arguement that we are not truly free in our decision making and our representation in government, that would otherwise define us as a Democracy. Our morales and patriotism and sense of self and pride with and through Nationalism is a recipe for group think in the prejudicial variety. The State HAS BECOME THE ROSE, but THE STATE IS NO LONGER DEMOCRACY, IT IS IT'S UGLY, GREEDY,COUSIN(AND IF LEFT TO IT'S OWN DEVICES, THE DEVIL HIMSELF) CAPITALISM!

Dodd, Kucinich, Barak, Richardson, Edwards and the rest should be strenuously protesting the MSM annointing of HRC and putting on the full court pres to slow her train down.

I am a white female who will never vote for Hillary. Will I vote for Obama. Well, seeing that both my husband and I voted for him for our senator, you bet! Anyone who thinks whites will not support Obama is just lying. If you look at the crowds you see all colors and all ages who believe in this man.
Illinois is largely rural and Obama has the overwhelming support of those not just in Chicago but, in the small towns and the rural areas.
Who other than Obama can ask his supporters to help close a 2 million dollar gap and all these small donors rally to help him.
If anything it shows the strength of his support and the massive grassroots that will propel him to the white house.
What does Hillary offer other than more Bush style governing for another 4 years. anyone who actually thinks Hillary cares about anyone other than her own selfish wants is a fool.
obama offers us a real stateman. A man who will move this country away from the failures of both Clintons and Bush's of the past 20 years. A man who really cares about the people and this country. Obama is a gifted man who is the best thing to happen to this country in generations.
Just as the clintons and Bush's have been an embarassment and a blight.
The polls just like the shakedown of Chinatown and arm twisting of people to endorse and the media to cheerlead, are being manipulated. Anyone who thinks those polls are real are living in koolaid land

Obama is my fourth choice.

I want to confirm that he has a lot of support in white, rural Illinois. In his senate campaign, downstate farms had thousands of blue Obama signs. It was quite a change for those Republican areas. Of course, he was running against the nutty Allen Keyes.

Do you see any signs this time in rural Illinois?

Keyes was put up after incumbent and then leader in the polls Ryan got caught up in a spousal abuse/sex scandal with his former wife actress Jeri Ryan. Had that not happened there was a good chance Ryan would have retained his seat and Obama would still be a state congressmen

But of course that was a good thing Obama ultimately won - got rid of a hypocritical pig of an incumbent and easily dispatched a right wing nut job in Keyes

Why is Obama going to appear onstage holding hands with a notorious homophobe at some gospel sing? This guy has tanked with me.

Hillary trolls out in force today. Halloween isn't for a couple of weeks, yet they're throwing eggs and tp at Barack.

Wonder why.

Could it be they're worried?

The past efforts to create the sense of Hillarian inevitability have failed them??

They've promised much to the party insiders, who's going to be rewarded with what in the new Clinton administration , etc. etc.

But let's just wait & see what the voters might have to say.

AP
In an interview today in New Hampshire with Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron, the leading Democratic presidential candidate responded to the recent criticism by other Democratic candidates on her Iraq War vote. In a Union Leader Op-Ed written by Senator Obama today, the fifth year anniversary of that vote, Obama dismissed Clinton's argument that her vote was not for war, but for diplomacy.

"No one thought Congress was debating diplomacy. No newspaper headlines ran on Oct. 12, 2002, reading, 'Congress authorizes diplomacy.' This was a vote to authorize war, and without that vote, there would have been no war," Obama wrote.

Demsrnuts

Yeah, how insightful- does Obama write -why then- when he got to the senate he voted to fund every piece of legislation for that war? no? hummm. I wonder why;
but it sure does not prevent him from grandstanding on an issue he's done nothing to stop,

Ridiculous.

Obama is spending money in more states than anyone else in the race.

Obama is the candidate with the most boots on the ground in non-early states, too, opening campaign headquarters all over the place.

Not sure whose making this criticism, didn't read the article and I won't bother. Obviously an ignorant reporter.

His poll numbers are fading. His efforts do not seem to be paying off. He is down both in the national and in the Iowa polls.

I just read that Obama is campaigning with some gospel singers, including an ex-gay gospel singer who thinks homosexuality is a curse that can be cured by God.

I wouldn't vote for Obama if Dick Cheney was the Republican candidate.

On second thought. That's going a bit too far. But this spineless rightwing appeaser has lost my support. I won't even consider voting for him now.

Gave once to Obama, never again: no balls. I don't want to reach a consensus with the right wing -- I want to stomp them into the dust and ensure that they NEVER wreck this country again.
