Comedian Jerry Seinfeld sat down with this weekend's Parade magazine to promote his upcoming animated feature "Bee Movie." During the interview he talked about how he once studied Scientology.

"I last really studied, oh, it's almost 30 years ago. But what I did do, I really liked, in terms of it's very...it was interesting. Believe it or not...it's extremely intellectual and clinical in its approach to problem-solving, which really appealed to me. I actually got to it from my auto mechanics teacher in high school, who was into it, and he was telling me about it. In my early years of stand-up, it was very helpful. I took a couple of courses. One of them was in communication, and I learned some things about communication that really got my act going."

"It was just things about understanding the communications cycle... Even the volume at which I'm speaking now is the right volume for where you're sitting. I'm almost performing, in a way."
...

"They have a lot of very good technology. That's what really appealed to me about it. It's not faith-based. It's all technology. And I'm obsessed with technology."

Many people are wondering and asking the question why so many Hollywood types are into scientology.
The reason is this: Firstly, we all know that scientology is based on money, and who has more money than Hollywood types?

So, the way to get to the Hollywood types is to pander to their already swollen egos by telling them that they are superior to 'regular people'.

They tell actors and actresses that this job they do and the money they make, is because they are intrinsically better than you or I.

If you can imagine the feeding of egos that goes on here, you could also imagine how easy it is for these already undeducated narcissists to believe this nonsense. It's frightening, really, when you stop to think about it.
But, it's the main reason why it appeals to Hollywood. I guess it makes them all saints!!
Saints with lots and lots of money.

I guess they didn't clue Jerry into the aliens in the volcanoes and the H bomb scenario. He liked the intellectual and technical side of Scientology? That's similar to eating Captain Crunch for the nutritional value. I know you pretty much have to be delusional to swallow the rhetoric of the world's religions but the degree of denial and just pure ignorance it takes to practice Scientology should exclude you from ever using the words intellectual of technology in the same sentence with that sham belief system.

The more you learn about con men like L. Ron Hubbard and Joseph Smith the more you pity the fools that base their lives on the pitiful rhetoric principally designed to part the suckers from their cash. The fact that it is done with the kind of stories that the Brothers Grimm would find implausible makes it all the more pathetic.

After reading this article it is obvious Larry David was the brain behind Seinfeld. Seinfeld has always had one of the lamest stand-ups in the business now I know why.

Seinfeld is either clueless about Scientology or doesn't care, so long as he thinked it helped him. People like Lisa McPherson died from participating. Operation Snow White was the largest infiltration of the federal government in history. The Fair Game policy (no it wasn't cancelled) tells Scientologists to "trick, sue, lie to or destroy" supposed enemies. A Scientology official allegedly told the victim of Tony Strawn's child abuse not to report Tony to the police. On and on. But not to worry. So long as it helped ME, I don't care what happens to anybody else. Right?

Damn! I'll never be able to enjoy the seventh rerun of my favorite Seinfeld episodes without knowing his engrams are all fucked up.

Why is this all over the HuffPost front page? Why is Arianna pushing Scientology? Has she been suckered in by this evil cult?

One of Scientology's better known tricks is turning gays into straight people (and keeping them that way). I think that's what I read in the tabs.

Wow.It never fails to amaze me how so many people in the entertainment industry have been sucked in by the Dr.Phil-like rubbish of a really piss-poor sci-fi pulp writer.

Xenu and the brain-pods?Give me a friggin' break.

Scientology is not a religion. Scientology is a business -- a business with a payroll and a very large bottom line.

I know of a marriage that broke up in about 1974, a couple that was normal and happy but the wife sent all scientology crazy and the man stayed normal. she got more off the deep end all the time, turned into a real moonie over it and it ruined thier marriage. last I heard she was still waiting for the spaceship.

"Lie detectors are used to verify that members are true believers."

I think the Scientology whackos are on to somethng there.

Those huge christian churches filled with evangelical fanatics could use lie detectors to see if propective members are loony enough to be good believers, and to verify that their preachers are truly interested in saving souls, rather than just wanting to flock certain members of the flock.

I wonder if Bush and Cheney and the other Neo-Cons are in Scientology. Both groups are wacko and both worship money.
