Last Night Of "Nightly" (For This Set, Anyway)
Tonight Brian Williams closed off the NBC Nightly News by bidding farewell to the old Nightly studios and offering a preview of the new set...sort of. What he actually offered was a preview of the comedic stylings he'll bring to "Saturday Night Live":
Astute viewers will note that at the end of the clip BriWi bids goodnight...and turns to go into the new studio. Either he ran smack into a locked door, or he had a key the whole time! What a kidder. We'll upload a view of the new studio featuring Keith Olbermann's giant head shortly, for those of you who can't wait 'til Monday.
Update: Woot! Here's a story featuring a promo video of the new studios, plus interviews with all sorts of important NBC News types. Including a dude named Jeff Sucker. That's what it says!
Update, Monday: It said "Sucker" in the article, — bolded — but they fixed it. You're welcome! Also, those new studios are technically not the Nightly studios, which are at the very end of the newsroom on the other side of the main studios, behind a glass wall. Special! Here, we have what may be the VERY FIRST PICTURE of what was hidden behind those locked doors (if indeed those were the doors to the new studio at all - oh Brian, how can we ever trust you again?) but in any case, they showed a glimpse on "Morning Joe" this a.m., so, voila:
My guess is it'll look different on the air tonight.
