Panel Says Children Under 6 Should Not Get Cold Medicines

A special panel of federal advisers voted overwhelmingly today that popular cough and cold medications should not be used in children younger than age 6.

The recommendation came after the panel concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support the effectiveness of the products in children.
