WHEN Senator Hillary Clinton appeared on Capitol Hill displaying a hint of cleavage, she sparked off a media furore about women in power, the way they dress and the role of femininity in American politics.

There has been no such fuss over the presidential campaign of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, whose enthusiasm for mascara and designer handbags has played no small part in her seemingly effortless stroll towards victory in next Sunday's elections in Argentina.

Democracy in Argentina? Oh, Oh, looks like it's time for another American sponsored military coup, a la 9/11 ( the original 9/11 that is, not the copycat twin towers).

If it's true that she has no plan for the time she gets to be President other then looking pretty, this may be an eye opening experience for Argentinians. If the economy slumps or goes stagnant while she is in office, it will be a long time before another woman is elected to anything much around there. Right now and for the past five years the economy has been booming under the rule of her husband. Let's hope she has the smarts to let her husband make the main descissions if she does not have the "smarts" for the job.

p.s. no one wants to see hillary's sagging appendages nor her fat dumpy ass. they just make her cackling laugh more appropriate.

Don't give this guy yappnmutt a gun. If he sees a woman, he'll shoot her. Perhaps he's a member of the sarcasticennui family of sockpuppets? Must be one of the Pentagon's cyberwarriors posting from a military base somewhere.

Ask Hillory what will she do as commander and chief of the U.S. military to keep American service women from being repeatedly and systematically raped by American armed forces personnel to the point where they die of dehydration in Iraq for fear of using the latrine and being raped again?

i just think it is deliciously ironic that the self proclaimed "most enlightened" society for women attributed to the feminist movement can't seem to muster female leadership in business or politics when such backward backwater boondock countries like pakistan(those misogynist muslims) and argentina(those chauvinist latin men) have no problem with women in power. all we have in the USA are the most masculine girls in the world(shemales)....and most of you are batsht crazy to boot. hot to trot with brains and power; if there ever was a good use for viagra........

If this women is truly Peronist we'll know it quickly. Argentina has been slowly recovering from the shock of the 1970s military take over coupled with the Monetarist economic "reforms" of the IMF and World Bank in the 1980s. I'd like to see her continue down the path of social democracy. Argentina was on the verge of achieving populist economic goals when their social revolution was ended by a brutal dictatorship supported or course by the US, which saw the opening of Argentina's market more important than improving the lives of the majority of Argentinians. South America needs more independent leaders like Chavez and Morales who place the well face of their people ahead of the welfare of the elite.

Since comments won't post on the other story:

OLD ENOUGH NOW TO ASK HOW DAD DIED IN THE WAR

Cameryn-Lee's dad died for the same reason young men always die.

They believe in America and trust what the President tells them to be true.

Along with that, at 18, they're naieve and think they'll never be the one who gets shot or lose their legs to an IED and are willing to risk everything they've got for an adventure that will turn them into MEN.

They're too young to realize that our government lies when(ever) it feels the need to go to war.

Like when we invented the Gulf of Tonkin Incident.

Or when we fumbled, or ignored the warnings about Pearl Harbor so FDR could convince America to enter WWII.

(Along with the embargo on oil and steel which is what provoked Japan into attacking us!).

Or when 19 mostly Saudi hijackers savagely struck America on 9-11, and we promptly went to war against Afghanistan and Iraq.

And now threaten Iran.

I feel sorry for Cameryn-Lee. I'm going to feel even sorrier for her when she hits the age of enlightenment and realizes her dad died in order to enrich the defense and oil-company buddies of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney,

and NOT defending America from enemies.

Today, the enemies America needs defending from are from within.

They're called Conservative Republicans.

Yeah, I've contacted HuffPo central about the problem.

I, too, found myself wondering how Cameryn-Lee's mom was going to answer her daughter's next question, but WHY did he have to die?

YAAH, forget what she looks like or the fact that she carries her mascara around in a designer handbag. Concentrate instead on what the inflation rate in Argentina looks like after her first year.
That's what's important.

Geez.

She does look a bit like Katherine Harris in that picture. In the pictures on the wikipedia page she's actually pretty hot, at least compared with Laura Bush, who looks like a man by comparison.

Another women who achieved power only because of her husband. At least she is better looking and probably more feminine than Hillary and she isn't threatening to start a war, unlike our current president George and future president Hillary.

As much I like Christina de Kitchner and her husband, the current President of Argentina, family political dynasties are a bad idea in Argentina and in the United States. I have many differences of opinion with Ms. Clinton but what sort of message does it send that since 1989 we will have had GHW Bush, William J. Clinton, George W. Bush only to be followed by Hillary? That's 24 years of two family rule in a country of nearly 300 million. I support Edwards on political grounds but even my views mirrored that of Ms. Clinton, which they don't, I would oppose her on purely philosophical grounds that power should not be passed intra-family.

Christina sounds like a woman who can take on the north, er, men. I can only wish her the best. Victory at the polls to replace the icon, Evita.
