Not Again! Romney Calls Osama Obama

First Posted: 03/28/2008 2:45 am Updated: 05/25/2011 12:15 pm

AP:

In a slip of the tongue, Republican Mitt Romney accused Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama of urging terrorists to congregate in Iraq.

In the midst of criticizing Obama and other Democrats on foreign and economic policy Tuesday, the GOP presidential hopeful said:

"Actually, just look at what Osam -- Barack Obama -- said just yesterday. Barack Obama, calling on radicals, jihadists of all different types, to come together in Iraq. That is the battlefield. ... It's almost as if the Democratic contenders for president are living in fantasyland. Their idea for jihad is to retreat, and their idea for the economy is to also retreat. And in my view, both efforts are wrongheaded."

I just noticed the poll on this page at www.sodaHead, you mean there are only two Democrats running in the primary or are two democrats running against each other in the general. I thought a republican was suppose to run against the Democrat in the General, stupid poll.

Hasn't Romney apologized for his so called mistake. He really doesn't have to attack Obama, on anything, much less try to make people think he is Osama calling for uniting against the west. Obama will not be the nominee for president, because he is not suppose to win, Billary is.

Old Mitt's a real prick, ain't he?

Just when I'm about to get over that statement about those cookie cutter Mitt clones serving their country by capaigning for him, he does something just as crass and stupid. Where do they FIND these stupid bastards?

If that's not enough to indicate his lack of intelligence or ethics, then you would probalby still vote for W. again. Ignorance is Bliss.
Frankly I'm beginning to think there is really a 'Stepford' type factories kicking these idiots off the asembly line- Has GM begun producing drone models?? they remind me of the Animatrons at Disneyland ( Lincoln looked about as real as these folks at a distance- but when you get a close up, blank eyes or if they have any expressiveness it's bewilderment (deer in the headlight). Did Mitt's circuits malfunction? Time for that maintenance check. And consider all that have 'changed' their positions on major issues with in a day-Stepfordish.(those too young- film The Stepford Wives circa 1970's)

mitt romney is despicable. this whole deal is completely ridiculous and every person in that audience, and all future ones as well, oughtta know that he's only trying to get into their heads. he thinks he's fooling people, playin em like pawns. and if he misspoke that outrageously, on several occasions, he doesn't have the focus or mental capacity to be an effective president of the united states. could we really stomach another imbecile in the white house for four more years? but he didn't misspeak -- he's transparent, just like rudy and his pitiful cellphone breaks on the stump. what a buncha clowns. and shame on anybody who falls for it.

Well of course it was a mistake again, just ask his black butler!

Its so obvious that Rommney is nothing but a rePIGlican racist. He is a Mormon and in the past they were very racist, though the church now is against racism. Perhaps Rommney is not a good Mormon.
Yea he is a slick, corporatist racist.

It was an easy mistake that thousands, perhaps millions of others have probably made.

Spelling are intentional (sic)
You say O-samb-a, I say O-bomb-a!
O-samb-a, O-bomb-a!
Let's call the whole Oboma thing off!

O-bomb-a needs to get used to the connection. It will NEVER go away.
Barrack Hussain Oboma is his name.

Barrack sounds like Iraq Live with it
Hussain as in Saddam Live with it
Oboma sounds like Osama. Live with it

That is as simple as it gets.
The next that may happen is some yellow dog Democrat will change their name to...drum roll please....
Billery Obomba Butkis. What a loser.

Now that is funny.

"Barrack Hussain Oboma is his name"

While I can't pretend to have any inkling of what you are trying to say, I would point out that his name is, in fact, spelled Barack Hussein Obama.

You should get at least that much straight before trying to engage in humor...if that is indeed what your were trying to do. Your insistence "now that is funny" leads me to believe that you were trying to be funny, but I tried out "Billery Obomba Butkis" on some of my co-workers and everyone just scratched their heads. Maybe it's just too subtle for us to grasp.

It seems mistaking the enemy for someone else is standard practice for the Republicans. Why else would they blame and invade Iraq instead of more forcefully pursuing the real enemy in Afghanistan? If you accept this was a slip of the tongue you're as naive as Romney is dishonest.
10:01 AM on 10/24/2007
It seems mistaking the enemy for someone else is standard practice for the both the Democrats and Republicans. Just look at all the hatred by liberals that spew vile dehumanization of anything related to the GOP here on this website.
Both sides are equally guilty.

I'm just poor white trash and I even know the difference!

Is it just me or does Mittt Romney remind anyone else of an aging and hollow headed Ken doll?

He does look like a Ken doll, but at least Ken knew his place wasn't in politics!

i'm figuratively wallowing in the brilliant one-liners today!! haha. excellently put, my friend.

Think Mitt is going to take advantage of "his" Red Sox being in the World Series? Guess again. He knows how despised he is in Massachusetts by the people that know him best. He barely sqeaked his Governor win vs. a political lightweight and he'd be booed out of Fenway Park. Simply put, he's an unprincipled Moron.
11:45 PM on 10/23/2007
OK. So just go find a bunch of 5 year olds who can innocently make the same mistake and film them looking goofy and not too bright. Then make a TV commercial out of it with Romney's pic in the background.

He won't have a problem remembering after that.
11:06 PM on 10/23/2007
When these GOP morons don't have a platform, this is all they have left.
11:05 PM on 10/23/2007
Make no mistake - Romney's "gaffe" was deliberate. And as far as the Teddy Kennedy incident goes - let's be honest - he was probably well sauced at the time. Not a defense a tee-totalling Mormon can fall back on. I mean, I love Teddy Kennedy to bits, but I love him like the uncle that you really wish would find a good AA meeting somewhere.
