Tyra Talks Butt Dimples, Business In "Tyra's 'It's All About Me' Moment Of The Day"

Before today's "Tyra's 'It's All About Me' Moment of the Day," we were growing nervous, as Tyra's interviews with Rosie Perez and Wayne Brady were both, alarmingly, mostly focused on her interview subjects. But we should have known to trust our girl, because at the end of the show we struck gold with a segment called "Ask Tyra." Literally, a forum for the audience to ask Tyra any questions they had... about Tyra! In the segment, Tyra answers questions about her body, how she juggles her two shows (by reading quality business publications like American Airlines Magazine, naturally), and what she intended to study in college. I think it's obvious (judging from the two Tyra "all about me moments" articles on this page) that HuffPo has entered into some sort of paid marketing scheme with this TV show.

I think it's also obvious that HuffPo should admit this to readers. It seems the ethical thing to do. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

All women who are successful in the business world, other than those who got their money from a husband or an inheritance, are frequently attacked, ridiculed, and undermined by men. Martha Stewart does what probably every rich New York man did at one time, which is use insider information to try to dump a failing stock, and she goes to prison. Who really believes she was the only one who did that? What nonsense. Then when she comes out, she is subject to a vicious and unrelenting assault by Donald Trump.

And Rosie O'Donnell, of course, is also vicious attacked by Trump.

Oprah Winfrey is attacked for spending millions investing in a school in Africa for girls. How is it possible she be attacked for that? It's a no win situation. Women are attacked for doing good, and they are attacked for doing nothing. She is also attacked for doing more to promote reading in this country than probably anyone has done in the last 50 years. Go figure.

We've got another male writer posting comments tearing apart women comedians. Why? What's the point? Probably 90% of the working comedians in this country are men, yet the attacks are directed at those few women who managed to survive in that field.

And now we will have an on-going series attacking Tyra Banks, another very successful woman? Why? She's narcissistic? As opposed to who?

Focusing on the talk show is the wrong spot. You should talk about Tyra's obsession with Tyra on America's Next Top Model. She does post pictures of herself all across the house, and frequently refer to her own past modeling career. And, this is on top of picking girls who are clearly inferior to her so she can be the third prettiest person on the show (Jay Manuel and Miss J., second and first respectively).
