I Like ItI Don’t Like It

LA Times:

Forget impeachment.

Liberals, put it behind you. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney shouldn't be treated like criminals who deserve punishment. They should be treated like psychotics who need treatment.

Because they've clearly gone mad. Exhibit A: We're in the middle of a disastrous war in Iraq, the military and political situation in Afghanistan is steadily worsening, and the administration's interrogation and detention tactics have inflamed anti-Americanism and fueled extremist movements around the globe. Sane people, confronting such a situation, do their best to tamp down tensions, rebuild shattered alliances, find common ground with hostile parties and give our military a little breathing space. But crazy people? They look around and decide it's a great time to start another war.

I agree wholeheartedly with most of the above comments but I would like to ask a few questions. What ails all the people that are sitting back watching it all unfold? Why has'nt something definite been done long before this, despite all the damning evidence and before it's too late? Is it just simply complacency,an inability to grasp the seriousness of the situation, hoping for divine intervention etc.,etc? Or is there some other deep rooted psychological factor at work here?

Cheney is the psychopath, the right wing nuts are the sociopaths, the neocons are schizophrenic while Bush is simply a retard ...

Clearly Seymour Hersh was right in his expose about the US readying to bomb Iran.

Anyday now...more shock and awe.

The Bush-Cheney Doctrine reminds me of "Support mental health or I'll kill you."

Lets get Dr. Michael Stone, from that show 'Most Evil', who ranks criminals on his psychological 'scale of evil' to help.

He could do a profile on Bush and Cheney, and then write, broadcast the results.

Hell, I think it should show on the emergency broadcast system.

Sociopath very likely...psychotic not quite yet...

With narcissist megalomanic tendencies I'd say...

That's all..

Rosa;

Haven't you heard the pin drop? Bush-Cheney aren't psychotics. They just play psychotic to really distract attention from Iraq. The crazy thing is: it's working.

It's all bluster. They can't dare attack Iran when the short-staffed military is bogged down Iraq.

That notwithstanding, Georgie and Dickie will keep rattling cages, vetoeing health care bills for children, dozing-off on the job, etc to keep the press and the American people distracted.

They are stupid, obviously, - but not as stupid as you think. They've truly cornered the American people.

No, the Insanity call is correct. Their first step was the Insane Violation of Trust when both men swore to Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States! No American Alive Ever Expected Any Politician to Do what they've done!! Period!! It was NOT Supposed to Happen, Sir! Humans don't usually have procedures in place to handle unthinkable acts! Bush and Cheney have done stuff they said they would NOT Do, haven't they?

Name me One other former Presidential Administration that has Ever had an Open Disdain for Democracy Itself like the Bushes!! You Can't, because The Bush Administration is the First Time Ever! Their Intent was Clear From the First Day! That was the Day they Stole the Office in the First Place!!

People Trust each other every minute of every day! You trust oncoming traffic NOT to come into your lane and Kill you! Your wife Trusts you not to "Violate her Trust" and have affairs! If a man Murders another man in a bar fight, he will be sentenced to Death! The Bushies Knew this and also knew that America did not have provisions in place to handle them, because the American People TRUSTED Them and never believed any American would do these things! And Look What They've Done!

But, they will get theirs, Sir! And it won't be the Judgment Day thing, either!

I agree with Ipitombi. Bush and Cheney have gotten (practically) everything they wanted. They probably even got more, and Bush will invoke the stupidity (Ronald Reagan) defense at his trials and Cheney will be dead. Hopefully, the People will not be duped.

-----On Sunday, Cheney warned of "the Iranian regime's efforts to destabilize the Middle East and to gain hegemonic power-------

Oh, that's rich!
The irony is stupifying.

. . . [we] cannot stand by as a terror-supporting state fulfills its most aggressive ambitions."

And again... If Colbert said this the satire would be fairly dripping from the screen.

On Tuesday, Bush insisted on the need "to defend Europe against the emerging Iranian threat."

And who will defend the world agaisnt the madmen threat?

I don't completely understand your terror laws and other laws governing statements about the elected officials and others in any administration.

Assuming that you have madmen in power, and you have a weak government opposition , how do you stop them?

Is it illegal to suggest that several million people converge on Washington and physically overwhelm the Pentagon, the Senate, Congress, and the White House?

Does a suggestion like that end up with guys in bellaclavas dragging you out of your bed and you end up facing charges of sedition and treason?

If charges, incarceration, or even execution are a likely scenario for such statements, and your elected opposition will do nothing to stop an administration, exactly what can a general citizen of your nation do?

we are all aski9ng the same question.
What the hell, is anybody out there?

scary times here.
I'd love to see several million storm the place, but we can't even get a decent decent protest going anymore.
We are shepherded into "free speech zones" away from anywhere we can have impact.

I keep remembering the estimated 1.5 million Ukrainians who flooded Kiev, 200,000 in the main Square alone, standing outside in the freezing cold in protest of a stolen election. The whole world was watching for sure. It was very moving to see these stoic crowds gathering, watching, demanding, waiting. It sure was something to see. Makeshift tents and in the snow, all bundled up, I kept thinking at the time how courageous they were and how we just let it go, the majority of us just not involved, don't much care one way or another as long as they have their toys. (which is the point of corpocracy I do believe.) We need our own Orange Brigade.

It's only illegal if you urge the People to do it NOW. As in the famous expression, you can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater and you can't urge imminent (i.e. immediate) violent insurrection. Other than that all bets are off. Of course, I doubt Roberts, Alito, Thomas or Scalia understand these basic Constitutional principles.

People ARE afraid of what can happen if they say or do the wrong thing. Especially now with Blackwater and co. among us.

I wonder what would happen if people went house to house, dressed up in security sweaters with a blackwater like logo, and said:

"If you're afraid that I came to your door, please sign this petition"

Thats just a thought...

See Naomi Wolf's Huffpo piece (AND her book)on a Sit down gathering for the Constitution, on the 6th of November, and the 6th of every month until...well, until.

She has very specific instructions for best media impact, which is what is needed. Everyone who is thinking the same thing (or not, even) needs to see the numbers of people in agreement.

Then, I don't know. Hope for someone who represents us in our government to proceed with something, 25th amendment, impeachment, SOMETHING.

I wrote a piece on my blog at http://medicalcrises.blogspot.com about presidential mental health (scroll to my March 2007 archives)

"Call Me Incompetent But Don't Call Me Crazy"

Time to re-write the 25th Amendment regarding determination of presidential disability.

The Constitution, and its amendments, are for the most part deliberately vague, to allow for wide scope of interpretation.
Under the 25th Amendment, both Cheney and Bush could be tossed, if Congress dared. .
But there is no will among Democrats to do this. This is why they, in turn, must go.
Our leaders are failing us, not our laws!

Literate, coherent posters take notice... in the not-too-distant future, it will be virtually impossible to communicate with family members and friends who've supported (or still support) this missing-chromosome war criminal.

There are no phone lines to the land of Denial.

To StillAmused-I stopped communicating with my right wing friends and relatives after the FIRST Bushit selection. I don't need jerks in my life. And I told them why before I told them they will not be hearing from me again. I feel better for it.

Likewise, and didn't mean to suggest otherwise.

What I left out was this qualifier: "after the full dimensions and consequences of his derangement, criminality and abuses have been broadly (if belatedly) acknowledged -- beyond refutation -- in the mainstream news media."

It's gonna be a little different, I'm suggesting, when the dead-enders have NOWHERE to turn for cover or validation... not even their reliable, apologist wingnut radio clowns (who will be sharing the disgrace), and no longer the passive, tip-toeing, stenographic mainstream press.

THAT level of humiliation would be hard for anyone to handle, and they're not gonna handle it well. The "cornered animal" axiom comes to mind...

Bush suffers from FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome), look it up. He also has suffered brain damage from years of substance abuse. He fragile mental health is propped up by the best medications YOUR MONEY CAN BUY.

Plainly stated, our President is totally unfit for his position of power, trust and authority.

Cheney on the other hand is suffering from the onset of dementia and is also highly medicated. But moreover, he's a just a crazy old gun-freak fascist asshole.
