Johnny Rotten seems to have lost none of his bad boy rancour during the last 30 years.
The Sex Pistols frontman snarled and shrieked his way through the band's comeback performance in an LA club ahead of their reunion tour.
In the group's first public performance in four years, John Lydon, 51, was a little rusty, forgetting the words to the first song, Holidays In The Sun.

Its funny to see Lydon criticizing Sting for playing well into his old age only a few months before he decides to run out and do exactly the same thing.
Then again, the man doesn't call himself "Johnny Rotten" for nothing, and I give him credit for not only originating much of the punk ethos, but likewise staying true to it to the very end.
Isn't this the same Johnny who recently complained in the press about the Police reunion? I believe he called them "rotten old dead carcasses" or something of that kind.
The Sex Pistols were great in their day. But this is just embarrassing ...
When he started out he was just pissed. Now I think he is pissed off because he makes more off of these Pistols concerts than if he did Public Image Limited concerts. The comment about forgetting the words, isn't that part of being a Sex Pistol, probably just a nod to Sid. Frankly everyone's lucky he just doesn't ditch the music altogether and start talking about hemoroids or something on stage.
I see people want to live in the past instead of learning from it...Please JRotten is just now annyoing and sound like a person who can't act his age...patheic
He used to relish being the stinkin' turd at the bottom of the pool. Now he's just a tired old fart. The joke wasn't funny the first time. It is still not funny retelling it thirty years on.

The middle-aged Pistols, as frightful as they may seem to those with tender sensibilities, are still infinitely preferable to 95% of the feckless cabals operating within the pop music mainstream. As for the Daily Mail article (and HuffPo's not entirely accurate distillation of its contents) John was forgetting lyrics (and abusing dull-witted hecklers) back in '76! When the Pistols are 300 years old it will scarcely matter - "Never Mind the Bollocks" will remain a brilliant album, and the group's scabrous legacy will endure. These occasional reformations serve to diminish their luster, but the destruction (or at least the dismantling) of the traditional, adulatory relationship between performer and audience was a primary target in the Pistols' initial strategy of attack. Never mind the adulation, never mind the luster...
He's still there, unlike Johnny, Joey, Joe, Sid, Darby, Thunders, etc...why shouldn't he get up there and make some filthy lucre. I don't know why they call it a comeback though. They just go out and play every few years for whatever reason. Because they're still around people are always going to pay to see em, Just like the Stones. Slade would be a reunion.
We already have punks in charge.
