Who knew? Actress Natalie Portman, who graduated from Syosset High School in 1999, says math was one of her favorite subjects in school. Now she's a guest editor of Scholastic Math, a magazine for students in grades 6-9 that's available in classrooms and by subscription.

She's editing the Oct. 29 edition, due out in a week or two. That's not long before the Nov. 16 debut of Portman's new movie, "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium," in which she plays the manager of a magical toy store. A related magazine article about a real toy store will explore the concept of profit. There's also an activity based on the upcoming change from daylight savings time to standard time.

Funny that they mention she graduated to Syosset High School but not that she also graduated from Harvard University.

Smart, beautiful, good actress. Sister's got it all.

She is such an exception and so exceptionally exceptional! Sigh ... :-)) She's cute, intelligent, smart, graceful, sensible, au naturale (no silicone/collagen/nip 'n' tuck) and pretty and did I mention ... cute!!! No wonder she belongs in just the 1 percentile of women in her age group!

Sigh ... ;-))

Good for her. A few months back, there was a bit of buzz about Danica McKellar, Winnie from the TV show The Wonder Years, who grew up to become a mathematician with a published theorem and everything.

Not all child stars go straight to rehab.

And it doesn't hurt that they are both cute as buttons.
