Abortion Debate Heats Up In UK Over Landmark Bill

In this U.S. primary season, a candidate's view on the abortion issue can make or break their nomination.

While abortion does not have the same polarizing effect on the British political scene, it is nonetheless a highly emotive issue for those on both sides of the argument, and over the next few months it will become even more so.

A House of Commons committee will consider a raft of legislative changes, with the likely result being what the London Times describes as "the most extensive liberalization of abortion laws" since the medical procedure was legalized 40 years ago.
