OpenLeft:

If the Obama campaign is not only keeping McClurkin as the headliner of the concert, but also issuing memos defending his views, producing videos endorsing McClurkin before the event, and then allowing McClurkin to emcee the event, it is pre-meditated, not a mistake. Chalk this up as about the 2,257th time that I gave a high profile Democat the benefit of the doubt, and was then proven wrong. I should have seen it coming.

In fact, while it is always hard to predict the future, there are a number of things surrounding Barack Obama and the 2008 horserace pointing to his eventual downward slide and Clinton's eventual rise that I feel should have seen coming.

Food Comparisons:

Billery is moldy limburger cheese that stinks up the entire region. Few really elect to partake of it but they like the way limburger sounds from a distance. Do not look to close because Bill’s sausage is in there somewhere. What a combo with some Koolaid!

O-Bomb-a is yesterday's burned toast. No amount of butter will make it do down easily. Cough Hack Spit!

Edwards is the newest trendy item on the menu and the public is afraid to buy in. He may be like the blue, red and green corn chips that are still corn just with a faux packaging.

Ruthy Goulini (sic) is a leftover egg salad sandwich left out in the heat of the days since 9-11.

Romney is a small shot of grape juice with a tiny bit of dry cracker, pretending to be something else that is holier than thou.

Fred Thompson is the putrid fat that rises to the top of cheap chili made from the discards of better cuts.

Richardson is the gaseous refried bean dip used as filler for the anticipated main course.

Dennis K is a deep fried Twinkie with Tabasco sauce and tiny shrimp bits served at Willie Nelson carnivals. What a flakey crust!

Dick Chaney is the collection of stagnant waste caught in the plumbing drain traps. Haul out the Drano.

George W. Bush does not fall into the category of any consumables since he is the excretion. Flush and Flush again!

While no one's political obit should be written yet, for not a single vote has been cast in any primary of caucus (I feel the need to keep bringing this point up), it is true that I think Obama has blown it.

His biggest problem is that there isn't enough of a policy difference between Hillary and him to overcome her perceived advantage in experience. It's not about winning debate points. He needs to totally transform this race. That means running as the candidate of the unabashed progressive-liberal-labor-left. Unfortunately, he seems to be taking his cues from the losing DLC wing.

He doesn't recognize the problem, so it will not be solved. Attacking Hillary only plays into her hands. Boldly doing something to end the war or supporting single-payer health care, or something dramatic can shake up the race.

Since he seems to be listening to the wrong advisors, I don't see that happening.

What Edwards needs is for Obama to falter and sink so he can become the non-Hillary candidate.

At the time when the horse race of the Presidential wannabes began I vowed that I would never vote for Hillary Clinton. However, the more Senator Obama and other Democratic wannabes hammer her instead of going after President Bush and his cronies the closer I come to changing my mind. After listening to the collection of senseless male wannabes, both Democratic and Republican I begin to become convinced that we need a woman as our next President, no matter what.

If the democrats field either Obama or Clinton,
the republicans will win.

Would Americans vote in an Indigenous American Indian into the Whiteman's House.? Of course not.

They do not vote in second class citizens. Or off color or women.

You are wrong. America might not vote for HRC but that is not because of her sex. She just happens to be one of the most divisive of candidates when we want to come together. She is a wishywashy candidate when we want someone to stand for principles. And, worst of all, she is just another Neocon when we want a return to humanity.
Obama can win. Americans are not quite as stupid/racist as you claim. By the way, if HRC doesn't win big in Iowa after her big surge effort there, she is in trouble. A dead heat with Obama should be seen as a loss. On Obama, I have wondered why the same people/media saying Osama Obama constantly could be listened to complaining about someone questioning if Petraeus did betray us when he came forward not with his own report as expected but with one written by the White House.

Agreed.

This is HORSE-HOCKEY about this homophobe and Obama. Thankfully it seems to be less than lethal in Iowa. But had he NOT brought this nut-job on board, Obama would be beating Clinton.

I will vote for Obama in IL even though I made a seething call to his headquarters.

It makes me mad. These are NOT Christians, these Exodus wannabees.

Ugh.

Pandering, regardless of which party or candidate does it, is pandering... Obama is losing votes over his lack of judgement and failure of leadership concerning his relationship to and continued association with McClurkin.

If he can't properly manage a campaign how will he manage the country....

That was my comment to staffers in Iowa.

Obama must be in command of the campaign, the White House, domestic programs, foreign policy, and the military. That is a big responsibility.

I will still vote for him, but darn it, this bugs me.

Ugh.

By remaining attached to McClurkin Obama is, for all practical purposes, endorsing homophobic views regardless of what he says... and endorsing those views is tantamount to endorsing discrimination against American citizens... regardless of what McClurkin (closeted, not cured.. we all laughed at Haggard's cure, McClurkin's is no different) says.

I no longer consider Obama a serious candidate because he failed to demonstrate the requisite leadership and sound decision making skills needed to manage the situation.

Obama and Hillary were promoted and purposely put into the 2008 race strictly as diversions. The reasoning is along the lines that a majority of voters aren't ready for a black president or for a woman president who has as much sleaze_laden baggage as the Clintons do.
The right wing hope is that the media will stay intently focused on Obama and Hilliary which will take the pressure and spotlight off their chosen candidate who probably couldn't stand up to any intense scrutiny or investigations. This "Ringer" will by september 2008,be groomed to look like the lesser of evils over Clinton and Obama.

His introduction on ELLEN was absolutely AWFUL!

PART I - The Sashay Entrance
Review: Truly creepy. Obama looked like he was channeling either Cher, a really skinny drag queen, or Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie.

PART II - The "Rocky" Punch
Review: Laughable. Obama took a mock tough guy pose, then punched a ball and resumed sashaying. He might as well have slapped the ball silly.

PART III - Being Outdanced by Ellen
Review: Sad. Ellen DeGeneres is known for her cute but not-very-good dance moves. She's a comedian, not a dancer. Unfortunately, Ellen danced better and in a more masculine fashion than Mr. Obama. Ellen generously said "you've got some moves" but it was painful to watch.

Now anyone on this Board thought that Barack Hussein was simply full of it?! ;-))

Way back in January I had stated that his canidacy is all fluff and that he is a paper tiger created by the media to keep a horse race going. You cannot fool all the people all the time! I'm sure that he still has some wide-eyed supporters and also those in Hollywood for whom he is just another fad to boost

Other than these fringe people, the rest are beginning to see through all his hot air and empty rhetoric!!!

The LGBT community leaders and organizations did there best to steer Obama away from this NEEDLESSLY offensive catastrophic mistake. All they got for their effort was a kick in the teeth. I'm mad as hell at BOTH his campaign INCOMPETANT bible thumper who selected McClurkin and Mary Mary, and the Obama fanatics I;ve encountered on a half dozen websites. How f*ckin hard would it be to find a great gospel artist who isn't a closet case who spits on queers and People With AIDS? Then once the Fiasco goes forward, no damn apology, no one got fired, (doesn't that sound like the same sh*t we've had for 7 years.)
The Obama posters at his website succeeded in making me EVEN angrier. Now I could give a f*ck less if Obama comes in dead last in the Primaries...I'm SO OVER obama.

eastearll, you may be right to a point, and in a less offensive way, that the LGBT vote is less than insignifcant IF you were talking about the Republican candidate. But, considering the majority of the LGBT community tend to be very politically active and you're tyalking about selecting teh dem candidate, that group represents a significant voting block. Nationally, it may be a relatively minor gorupo in terms of the general, but not in the primaries. Deliberately alienating a substantial block of teh primary voter pool, even if Obama does not share McClurkin's views, just shows extremely poor judgment and political inexperience on Obama's part.

The Clinton's are a well oiled machine. This race has been over for a while. The 90's where some pretty good years if you think back about it.

Obama is no longer considered a candidate for President in my household... specifically over this incident. If Obama can win Iowa, NH and SC, he can turn it around. The problem is he is afraid to look too Leftie, to prove his seriousness. By not courting the left, he has allow the lazy left to fall into Hillary's web of centrism. It's grim. Hillary is a Chickenhawk.
