Review: Truly creepy. Obama looked like he was channeling either Cher, a really skinny drag queen, or Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie.

PART II - The "Rocky" Punch
Review: Laughable. Obama took a mock tough guy pose, then punched a ball and resumed sashaying. He might as well have slapped the ball silly.

PART III - Being Outdanced by Ellen
Review: Sad. Ellen DeGeneres is known for her cute but not-very-good dance moves. She's a comedian, not a dancer. Unfortunately, Ellen danced better and in a more masculine fashion than Mr. Obama. Ellen generously said "you've got some moves" but it was painful to watch

I think you all expected Obama to come out there and do some kind buck dance for y'all, just because he's black. Instead he did what was required, a muted "Rock the Boat" complimenting Ellen as well as possible. If he had come on stage dancing like James Brown or Usher, his opponents would have had their 'Dukakis in the Tank' or 'Kerry Wind Surfing' moment.

When we black guys dance with a partner the moves must compliment and reflect what our partner is doing. Otherwise you look like a showboat dancing by yourself instead of with her.

I'm not a black man but my first thoughts were basically the same--1) just what, exactly, were people expecting to see? and 2) Mr. Obama's just complementing his partner's moves. Who cares what people look like when they dance, anyway? And how stupid is this kind of criticism about a person who's a presidential candidate??? If he were campaigning to be our national dance instructor, then it might be relevant. Too bad the candidates' policies and proposals don't get this kind of scrutiny from the average voter. Maybe if we payed attention to the things that matter we might actually elect someone intelligent, compassionate, and with the courage of their convictions (which would eliminate Hillary).

Fact is, anyone who has any true sense of rhythm knows that the man indeed has it -- sorry if that sounds racist -- but the man can indeed move. He was clearly holding back a bit which was a right thing to do.

Frankly, joy -- expressed in singing, dancing, etc -- is a great thing for a presidential candidate to be sharing. I loved it when Clinton (Bill) played the Sax in shades. It's all right to have fun. On the dance floor for a non contact freestyle dance, the woman sets the motion and the intensity. The guy takes his time and observes what she's doing and then makes his dance steps compatible, always usualy with less intensity than the woman. It's important to show your cool. You can not work up a sweat in a suit.

It must have been difficult for him because ellen dances like a white guy from a small town. I'm sure if beyonce was out there you would have seen the difference.
