Kucinich is going nowhere as a presidental candidate. But he wants to impeach Bush and Cheney. Maybe democrats could elect Kucinich Speaker. That would made everyone happy: Kucinich gets recognition, the nation gets rid of Bush and Cheney. Win-Win! Got a democrat representative? Write to him or her, demand a new speaker.

I agree that Nancy Nord is a bad Bush appointment, but Pelosi should be going after bigger game. There aren't enough hours in a day for one person to go after bad Bush appointments. She should delegate the removal of lesser Bush cronies to other Democratic members of Congress.

First woman speaker of the house, and... first entirely useless woman speaker of the house.

Yup factotem . . . she is totally useless as speaker . . . she needs to be replaced . . . the fact that she stubbornly refuses to put impeachment on the agenda speaks volumes . .. she is as corrupt as the bushies . . .

Nancy, Attack the real enemies in Washington, you useless twat. Get soemthing done or get the fuck out of the way.

Let's fight one battle at a time. Nancy's doing the right thing here. Email the CPSC and express your concern, and demand that Nancy Nord resign:

http://www.cpsc.gov/about/contact.html

Bush has appointed people who have set out to destroy the government entities they work for. It's like we're all on a bus that's being driven by a driver who want to crash it. We all need to act now. This is also war.

She remind's me of Reagan,Alway's going after the litte guy[Granda] when the real fight is with those who would stop American's from having their freedom stole from them[ bombing of marines]!

Shut the fuck up, Nancy.

You did not impeach the bastard.

Pelosi ........Guts UP kiddo ....

NO TO BUCKS FOR THE WAR .....

forget the small potatoes

Woo hoo. She picked the lowest hanging fruit.

Now if she really wanted to impress me, she'd commit to no war funding bill passing the House that doesn't withdraw the troops before the end of Bush's term.

Or, she'd decide impeachment wasn't "off the table" (not that it was hers to take off to begin with.)

So she did the most basic of duties of her job. Yahoo. If she wants anyone to be impressed she'd do one of the two big ticket items above.

Great Caesar's Salad Croutons!

With the entire rogues' gallery of executive branch miscreants to choose from, Nancy Pelosi is expending the full ire of the Office of the Speaker of the House on the ACTING head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission?!?

A heartbeat and a half from the Presidency, and THIS is the best she can do?

If trolls are posting, this, it's not surprising. If progressives are, it's ridiculous.

Because Pelosi has disappointed about impeachment and Iraq war funding is no reason to not support her in this. I applaud her for this! She is showing spine in this. Give credit where it's due.

Congresswoman Pelosi,

Is this solely the problem of the head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission?

What was your position on NAFTA? How did you vote?

Did its passage contribute to the development of Chinese-made toys for an American market?

And why did you favor exporting American jobs to China?

Nancy Pelosi deserves an award. Not any award, but an Emmy. Why? Well... she is obviously 'betraying' the Democratic 'base'. Her 'table' is too cluttered with subversion she has not accomplished anything the American people have asked. She, as Bush....is a lame duck.
Same Players. Different Scandal.

Pelosi should take her own advice and step down as Speaker. The American people said with a resounding voice last fall that they had had enough of the corruption and the shredding of the Constittution and voted Democrats in so they could control the flawed and dangerous Bush. The people usnderstood what needed to be done. Unfortunately for many American families Pelosi failed or refused to act accordingly. We now have the most secretive, corrupt and disrespectful administration in modern history.
Pelosi must take her own advice. She must step down as Speaker. She must listen to the will of the people and the resposibilities of her office as stated in the Constitution. She has failed. Impeachment should have never been taken of the table. Bush should be behind bars by now. It is importatnt to realize that all of the problems we are facing concerning foreign policy can be directly traced back to Bush's complete failure. He has not a clue of the complexities that perpetuate the problems of the Middle East. He didn't pay attention in school and we are now paying for it with blood and treasure. And the Madame Speaker is partially guilty.

Madam Speaker is fully responsible. As she so pompously repeats: She is the longest running member of the Foreign Relations Committee and chair, no less, she had knowledge long before she became speaker. Don't be fooled hannitizer into thinking anyone would do a better job at this juncture. There would have to be a complete overhaul of Congess along with Bush, Cheney and anyone else who has been in office over 2 terms. The US is in dire straights and getting Pelosi out is like chipping an iceberg with a spoon.

This is about the Consumer Product Safety Commision, not Iraq (except that Iraq is draining all our tax money that we should be spending on agencies like this to protect the public good).
05:49 PM on 10/30/2007
Nancy's calling for resignations?

I second hannitizer's call for HER resignation.

She sold us out before the echoes of the oaths of office fell silent in January.

I agree 100% with the first half of the post, up to "Impeachment should have never been taken off the table. Bush should be behind bars by now."

However, I disagree that the situation in Iraq is a result of Bush's "failure" or lack of a "clue." On the contrary, Bush knew exactly what he was doing and the war in Iraq is--for the industrial cartels--an unparalleled success.

He led us into an unnecessary invasion on false pretenses (thereby committing an act of High Treason) for four main reasons:

1. to create immediate streams of revenue for war profiteers in Iraq for years and perhaps decades to come;

2. more importantly, to justify increases to an absurdly bloated and anachronistic "defense" budget for years and perhaps decades to come--when we already possess a perfectly intact nuclear umbrella, when the only credible military threat to the U.S. is its own war cartel, and when we should be cutting wasteful spending on fear- and war-mongering to focus on important domestic priorities like a single-payer national health insurance program;

3. to create conditions of "volatility" for extreme energy market gaming and to create lurative contracts for western oil companies; and

4. to brutalize the working class through fear, distraction, and misplaced patriotism into passively enduring a one-sided class war at home.

Nancy, obstructionism of impeachment is "off the table."

I wish I could impeach YOU for your betrayal of your duty to enforce the law and defend the Constitution.
