AP :

For the second presidential debate in a row, Hillary Rodham Clinton can expect to be everyone's punching bag. This time she'll be on the stage to defend herself.

Republicans ganged up on the New York senator during their debate last week in Florida, knowing that was a good way to energize the GOP base. Democrats are criticizing Clinton because she's the candidate to beat in their own primary.

MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE DEBATE:

Hillary must REALLY piss Obama off...because she doesn't ONCE acknowledge that he is alive.

Notice:

She NEVER mentions Obama's name, first or last
She NEVER looks at him directly
She looks "through" him like he isn't there
She NEVER mentions anything about him.

NO WONDER OBAMA IS SO PISSY AT HILLARY!

He gets no Hillary-love. Poor thing.

Don't forget at this time not too long ago Howard Dean was the presumptive nominee.

Did you notice her answers on social security?

She twice referred to not taxing the middle class and retired people more, to fix the problem. That is code for I won't raise taxes on RICH middle class and WEALTHY retired people. She also said she was comfortable with keeping the death tax starting at ABOVE seven million dollars.

Hillary is definitely a Republican all the way!

Kucinich is still the best Democrat on the slate but he is not capable of winning the presidency. A unity ticket of Edwards/Obama would win easily on a strong populist platform but the MSM is determined to force Hillary down our throats.

Populism is the cure for the cancer of corporatism.

He brought up an important point:

"Why are you two clowns (Obama/Edwards) attacking
HILLARY?

"Save it for the GOP!"

Richardson seems to only be in the race at this point just to protect Hillary and ensure she wins.

After all the very articulate questions that Edwards and Obama brought up regarding Clinton's "positions" Richardson jumps in and like a magnet absorbs the rooms disgust FROM Hillary to HIMSELF. That's the only point that I saw Hillary smile all night.

If her polls stay the same then I know this country is full of unintelligent idiots who vote on name over substance. Hillary winning would leave me with the same empty feeling that I had when Bush won his second term.

Dag Qbear, you and I actually agree about something. In case you missed it, Chuck Todd gave a heads up that Richardson would be playing the role played last night on Tucker Carlson Show. With Domenci announcing he will not be seeking another term, Richardson has decided he has a better shot at Senator from NM. He is not gonna be Hillary's running mate should she SURVIVE. That will go to Jim Webb, who I respect, or Wes Clark, who I voted for in 2004 but no longer respect because he is now just an a** kissing suckup. Hey Senseless, LIR, and the rest of you Hillarites the CORONATION has been indefinitely postponed.

If he does not run for the Senate in NM, I predict Clinton will name him as her Sec. of State. I have been saying that for months now. I think General Clark will be her VP choice. I thought that would be the case all along, but when he endorsed her so early I was virtually sure of it.

Please stop with the me, me, me and focus on the whole state of affairs. The issue isn't gay rights, it's human rights. When they take away things like Habeas Corpus, it's time to focus on the basics.

Hillary is well versed one has to give her that.
But she said that Iran is pursuing nuclear capabilities which is a lie. They are after nuclear energy, big difference. So that tells me that she backs Bush to attack Iran though she already signed the Kyl/Lieberman Amendment
enforcing his strategy. Voting for her would be
a grave mistake. In fact all 3 top candidates
said the same about Iran and I wonder if they have the best interest of Americans on their mind by attacking another country. Vote Kucinich!

I'll never make it as a political pundit.

Here is my updated ranking of Democratic candidate based on issues I consider the most important (foreign policy, healthcare, environment, education, poverty):

1. Kucinich
2. Edwards
3. Biden, Dodd
5. Richardson
6. Obama
7. Gravel
8. Clinton

debate

de·bate [ di báyt ]

noun (plural de·bates)

Definition:

1. public meeting for discussion: an organized or public discussion of something

2. argument: argument or prolonged discussion
The matter is not open to debate.

3. consideration: a prolonged consideration of something

[13th century. < Old French debat< Latin battere "to fight"]
----------------

Per Encarta Dictionary, this was hardly a debate.

I agree but really none of these "television interviews" are debates.

None of the real front runner politicians from either Party would REALLY want to get into a real honest to god debate.

The only ones who could really handle a debate are the politicians who believe in what they are saying - not just saying what the need to believe in to be elected.

True. It is more a show than debate.

On the other hand, look whatt occurred at a recent Repub show:

----------------

"At the Summit, I witnessed all of the major Republican presidential candidates compete for the affection of so-called value voters. Rudy Giuliani, the current frontrunner, sought to assuage movement leaders' concerns about his multiple marriages, pro-choice politics, and penchant for cross-dressing. Mitt Romney pledged to fight for a Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, hoping his newfound conservatism would somehow lessen evangelical resentment of his Mormon faith."

From Max Blumenthall's blog on HuffPost (left column of Home Page).

----------------------

Hey! Repubs. Tell us truthfully, aren't you just thoroughly embarrassed by your candidates?

Bwahahahahahaha!

What clowns!

Look at the Dems, and compare.

Hillary is the one who started this whole thing in the early debates by bad-mouthing Obama and calling him "naive" on matters that the record showed she actually agreed with him.

She has to stand by her record or not. It's that simple.

My support for Hillary slipped a bit with the debate last night.

Does she stand for anything?

Can she give a direct answer to anything?

I really feel that Obama and Edwards brought the smack-down and really made Clinton look bad and unable to answer anything.

I mean - I've had enough with Bush and his stonewalling - I don't want 4 to 8 years of the same thing.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:31 AM on 10/31/2007

Does she stand for anything?
Yes, the wanton lust for power...

Can she give a direct answer to anything?
Sure, what do you want it to be? There's your answer.

It's simple. People think voting for sHillary is voting to put Bill back in. It's not. Bill is neutered now. He's not going to do anything. sHillary wants power for herself, and she'll do anything, say anything to get it.

If you like what Bush has done, you'll get more of the same from sHillary. She's the "unitary executive" candidate.

the GOP's best shot for winning the presidential election is Hillary as the Democratic nominee. I'm a life long democrat, and I'm not wild about her. She is an absolute lightening rod. The recently dead GOP will rise from the grave to vote against her.

She galvanizes the right to get out the vote. From the Democratic side, she is a former Goldwater girl and a DLC. Edwards says there is "corruption." Hillary has to keep quiet about corruption and even her papers when Bill was president. That archivist is really a slow guy!! Sure! Just like her billing records from the Rose Law Firm or the pardon of Mark Rich.

I just gets worse for her. It is not personal, it is political fact that she has "baggage" up to the celling.

I'm from Nixon's home town. In 1964 I was not a Goldwater Boy. I wasn't reading Ayn Rand. I was working in a factory and working my way through college and graduate school - doing the same work as John Edwards, for thirty years.

The implementation of anything can be bad. Just as the GOP has screwed up democracy by confusing it with capitalism. Hijacking Christianity also has been a disaster throughout the ages. You can't throw out the baby with the bath water. Communal living was man's natural state. Refrigeration and capital accounts allowed people to hoard more than they could ever need. It's called gluttony and greed.

"NAFTA was initially pursued by conservative governments in the United States and Canada supportive of free trade, led by Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, U.S. PRESIDENT GEORGE H. W. BUSH!!!!, and the Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari. The three countries signed NAFTA in December 1992, subject to ratification by the legislatures of the three countries.
There was considerable opposition in all three countries, but in the United States it was able to secure passage after Bill Clinton made its passage a major legislative initiative in 1993. During his presidential campaign he had promised to review the agreement, which he considered inadequate. Since the agreement had been signed by Bush under his fast-track prerogative, Clinton did not alter the original agreement, but complemented it with the aforementioned NAAEC and NAALC...."

One of the things I think is unfair to us, the voters- in both parties debates is the way they frame these bullsh*t questions.

Like this business with the drivers licenses.

The question should be asked- We have 12 million undocumented people in this country, many of them driving with no license and no insurance.

What do you propose we do about it?
