AP :

For the second presidential debate in a row, Hillary Rodham Clinton can expect to be everyone's punching bag. This time she'll be on the stage to defend herself.

Republicans ganged up on the New York senator during their debate last week in Florida, knowing that was a good way to energize the GOP base. Democrats are criticizing Clinton because she's the candidate to beat in their own primary.

This was a set up for Hillary to be polarized, we heard the rhetoric leading up to it, she deserved no less than what she got last night.

Don't forget Edward's is right about her Campaign Contributions, defense companies, Rupert Murdoch, Kenneth Starr, Insurance companies, etc... Think about this Kenneth Starr and Rupert Murdoch.

Her Iran Vote turned me, we don't need another Republican vs Clinton Administration in the White House right now. We need a serious person that can avoid all of this defeat Clinton propaganda. If she goes in the White House it will be another 8 years of investigations over Hillary instead of Bill Clinton, we don't need that right now.

WE need serious solutions to serious problems in this Country. Hillary would be a disaster for the American People. Don't get me wrong here, she is not a bad person, she just panders to win.

Most of all don't forget that the same PR Firm that represented Eric Prince of Blackwater in the hearings last week, is the same PR firm that represents Hillary Clinton.

Let's hear it for Chris Dodd, too. He is standing up for the Constitution. Hillary has to pander or she will get it from the other side. Being in the middle means getting it from both sides. Her middle is my right. There is no compromise on principle. That's what the Clintons never learned.

I thought Edwards was very effective in framing Hillary as the establishment candidate, beholden to the very same corporate influences that are driving the country into disastrous territory - Hillary is the candidate most likely to continue the Bush doctrine of preemptive strikes, and the least likely to do anything meaningful about the influence of special interest money, and for me that just doesn't work.

Obama lost me a little bit, he appeared reserved and hesitant - he'll need to do much better than that.

Dream Team: Gore/Edwards

Next Best: Edwards/Dodd

Hillary is the best debater when compared to the other candidates of both parties. She had six people attacking her continuously all night and never lost her cool. She showw the most complete knowledge of all issues and exdibits the best leadership qualities. The hate Hillary people such as Roger Simon and Chris Mathews from the MSM and elsewhere will, of course, relentlessly attack here but that is to be expected.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:03 AM on 10/31/2007

She said absolutely nothing. I dare you to watch that debate again and come back with Hillary's stand on the issues.

There are a lot of words, but there is zero commitment behind them.

Also, do you really buy that she signed off on the Iran amendment because she saw it as a means to pursue DIPLOMACY???

Come on!

Clinton did a rope-a-dope. She kept her cool under fire but could never explain the substantive contradictions of her positions over the years. She is damaged goods - not a bad person or unintelligent. NAFTA, Social Security, Iraq and Iran votes (what carrots did she ever offer Iran?). It would just be the same old policies. She has no outrage on Bush's unconstitutional behavior, torture, impeachment.

CHRIS DODD WON MY DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY VOTE.

Why?

Against giving Illegal aliens drivers licenses.

Against the laws that have caused countless American Citizens being arrested for possession of Marijuana.

Gulliani is right.

Hillary will begin bragging about her vote to authorize the war in Iraq sometime next August.

She'll berate Dems with it and hold it up as evidence that she's smarter than the whole damn party.

You'll suck it up, too.

Edwards and Biden are looking and sounding sharper and more "presidential"---- but Obama won the Poll-- that means the Text messenger crowd went about 10 percentage points for Obama over Clinton--- her supporters don't text message as much-- is the fast paced high tech crowd going to win this one-- Iowa might not go to Hill-- but the new Hampshire crowd might still be hers (even with her hawkish views.)

The true Hillary started to appear last night, and it's only going to become more and more apparent as we get closer to the election that there's no there there.

She never answers a question, she never commits to a position. Her answers always go like this: 1. Steal a slogan/campaign line from Obama and try to make it your own; 2. Make reference to your husband and the job he did back in the 1990s; 3. Say that you "appreciate" the work someone ELSE has done on the issue; 4.Blame George Bush and the Republicans...

And then she's out! NO POSITION STATED.

Seriously, how can anyone with a conscience who's a Democrat seriously want this woman to win?

She got us into Iraq and now she's given the Bush Administration license to invade Iran. Where is her judgment? Where is her integrity?

She has piled on more Pentagon earmarks than any other candidate, Democrat OR Republican.

She takes money from PACs and lobbyists.

She is not for opennness and accountability in government. She won't release her earmarks and she won't ask for the White House records that can "show" what kind of so-called experience she has.

She does not believe she has to answer to the American people. She can't even give a straight answer on the debate.

I know she's a woman and all, but really, is that reason enough to support a candidate?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:46 AM on 10/31/2007

Also, many people are supporting Hillary because they want Bill back in office. But how insulting is that? Do we need to elect a woman to lead the FREE WORLD because we like her HUSBAND????

We all know their marriage is a sham. Do you really believe (are you that NAIVE) to think that Bill Clinton is going to be hanging around the White House helping his wife govern? I really seriously doubt that they even live together.

If Hillary (god forbid) should get elected, I envision a traveling Bill Clinton. He's not going to be staying in the White House where he's not free to maintain his "activities." He's been pegged as a sex addict by his peers for decades now.

AMERICA WAKE UP!!! We're like lemmings running off the cliff with Hillary Clinton.

I'm surprised that Joe Biden didn't get more attention from the mainstream media during this presidential run. He is certainly experienced and has a good head on his shoulders and a wonderful sense of humor. My only concern about Joe Biden is his stance on universal health care. Is he closer to Hillary's position on that issue or to Kucinich's? My preference is single payer, universal. Also, what about lobbyist reform legislation and public financing of elections? And then there is, of course, the need to restore our system of checks and balances, to protect our Constitution from those who prefer security over freedom or fascism over democracy...and the list goes on, and on, and on.

Sorry, hope, but he's stupid.

He doesn't even seem to see logic traps coming. Doesn't anyone prep this guy before he speaks on the record?

I once saw him tell a New Hampshire voter that he always loved the NYYankees as a kid. When he saw the horrified expression on the voter's face, he quickly corrected himself and said "Red Sox, I meant Red Sox!". Is it even possible for a Red Sox devotee to mispeak and identify himself as a Yankees fan?

If you didnot catch it this guy Chuck Todd gave a heads up on the Tucker Carlson Show that Richardson was gonna be running for NM Senator now for Domenci's seat and that he might be the one to run interference for Hillary last night. He may have been speculating but when it happened it was like wow this guy has ESP or he's got some serious connections to the inside scoop.

Richardson is too stupid to realize that clinton will use him and then abuse him. His sucking up act is deplorable - and obviously well rehearsed.

I believe that America has the right to know if a candidate is a lying bag of dung, and letting the other candidates inquire about clinton's truthfulness is an appropriate action.

"Seventeen minutes into the debate, Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich had yet to get a question and blurted out, "Is this a debate here?" Minutes later, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson threw up his hands in protest that he hadn't been called on either and exchanged a frustrated glance with Kucinich."

These aren't really debates. They're a forum through which the MSM can do what the administration has told them to do.

Why should the MSM dictate who gets to speak? Chris Matthews proved once again that he is a blathering idiot. Most pilots report UFOs. Ever seen a mirage? Matthews needs a muzzle. I thing he wants some part of Bush and is angry that Kucinich could use the "I" word and run around with a hot redhead. Eat your heart out of Chris! Maybe if Kucinich would stick to seeing burning bushes, arks, and virgin births, and insist that the world was created in six days 5,000 years ago, Matthews would be happy.

Hillary, like Bill, bemoaned the fact that because they are making so much money now, they feel guilty by taking the George Bush tax cuts.

Hey, Hillary, how about writing a $5,000,000 check to the U.S. Treasury to salve your conscience. Putting your money where your mouth is would be a nice start.

The debate is one thing but her votes cannot be reconciled. The carrot and stick "schtick" is all sticks and no carrots. Iran came hat-in-hand in 2003 offering olive branches with a grand bargain. We all know who is behind her vote on the Kyl/Liberman Resolution.

I am tired of her talking about the vast right-wing conspiracy that persecutes her while she climbs in bed with them. She trusted Bush on Iraq and then trusted Bush on Iran - no, she sold out long ago and so did Bill. These are simple facts.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:49 AM on 10/31/2007

You can't be serious.

She was evasive, she flip flopped, her answers had no content, she made no committment. She tried to walk the fence on every issue. She doesn't want to attack Iran, but she doesn't want to not attack Iran - she wants drivers licenses for illegals, but she doesn't want licenses for illegals, etc. etc.. She has wonderful, relevant experience as first lazy - but her husband won't let her tell you what her experience was. She wants to end secrecy in the government, but won't release her own records until after she is elected to her second term in 2012.

Apparently it doesn't take much to make you proud.

But I see that you're one of the soccer mom's who thinks having a woman in charge is the answer to a maiden's prayer. It doesn't matter if it's the right woman - any woman will do. Maybe Pelosi, Fiona, Dunn, Stewart, Holden - all women who were in charge before they fell flat on their faces. Even Laura Bush claims to have policy making experience.

Yet each time she was presented with a question, she responded quickly to deflect the question and proceed to blame George Bush for the particular problem. And, even if we believe that George Bush is responsible for the problems that Hillary laid at his feet, she did not demonstrate why the American people should entrust the presidency to her.

By blaming Bush for all of the nation's woes, she is conversely doing the same thing as she avoids answering tough questions about tough issues. This is not strength to cast Bush as the bad guy, we don't need Hillary to remind us of that, what we need is for Hillary to tell us how she will lead us to a better place.

Instead, we witnessed Hillary skip around every question, if you're proud of this, then so be it, I'd rather be proud of Biden, Obama and Edwards and Dodd who at least appeared to make an attempt to engage the subjects and offer substantial information about their candidacies. Kucinich was on target as well, as usual, until he acknowledged 'seeing' a UFO.

One could hear his last chance at the nomination fly right out the window with his answer.

Hey bright one Obama said he is for issuing licenses to illegal immigrants also...think much.

I think it's slightly ironic that Edwards would lecture Clinton on electability and claim that the repubs keep talking about her because they actually want to go up against her. Umm, that's speculation. What's not speculation is that Edwards has already PROVEN THAT HE IS UNELECTABLE! If the repubs could pick their opponent I'm guessing it would be the one clown they already beat.

Edwards is the last person who should be talking about electability.

The so-called 9/11 high-jackers were issued driver's licenses, too. In fact, several of those accused of the attacks were licensed pilots who flew private jets for right-wingers like Jerry Falwell.

Maybe we SHOULD withhold those licenses. We don't want any of those thugs being employed by the neo-cons so they can drive their limos, now do we?

The point about that whole discussion was that we don't know where she actually stands because she does not take one. Whether it is requiring those who make above say $200,000 to pay more in Social Security taxes, whether its ending the Iraq war, statrting a war with Iran, whether it's opening the Clinton Library so we have some insight into all this experience she claims during Bill's Administration, Or the Cubs or Yankees. She has been getting away with these responses that don't answer the question and pundits, up to now, have giving her kudos for being smart and savvy. Well it looks like her free ride might be over.
