AP :

For the second presidential debate in a row, Hillary Rodham Clinton can expect to be everyone's punching bag. This time she'll be on the stage to defend herself.

Republicans ganged up on the New York senator during their debate last week in Florida, knowing that was a good way to energize the GOP base. Democrats are criticizing Clinton because she's the candidate to beat in their own primary.

You people should post information about Mike Gravel's live stream last night from Philadelphia.

The most direct answers came from him, even though NBC excluded him from the debate:

Off topic I know but, another Republican Scandal...
------------------------------------------

By CHET BROKAW - Associated Press Writer

PIERRE, S.D.(AP) A former state lawmaker was wrong to tell two foster daughters he could help them make money by selling their reproductive eggs, but his physical examinations of the girls did not amount to rape, his defense lawyer said Tuesday as the trial opened.

The girls allowed former state Rep. Ted Klaudt to conduct the exams, and both were older than 16 _ the age of consent _ at the time, defense lawyer Tim Rensch told jurors in his opening statement at Klaudt's rape trial.

"This was not the product of force. This was not the product of coercion," Rensch said. "It's something that was immoral and wrong, but it was not forcible rape."

Assistant Attorney General Patricia DeVaney said Klaudt used lies and manipulation to rape the girls under the pretense that he was determining whether they were healthy enough to sell their eggs to infertile couples.
.

Klaudt, a Republican, served eight years in the South Dakota House from 1999 to 2006. After reaching his term limit last year, he ran for state Senate but lost to his Democratic challenger.

In my state Ohio, any time an object is introduced into body cavities by someone other than the woman or girl herself, it is rape.

This was very important recently because after a young teenage girl was raped by an acquaintance with an object, her mother and stepfather were instrumental in putting the law on the books. Soon after, though, the stepfather used a syringe to put his semen in the girl's vagina to impregnate her so she would bear him and his ill wife a baby.

The girl has been severely traumatized, The stupid stepfather is now in prison and the baby has been adopted by another family.

Will Barack and Donnie speak out against these twisted hetrosexuals? Or is this the sort of thing they stand for?
Basters and one's own kids?
Rape in the guise of an 'exam'?

I guess they would just think of these stories and expressions of God's natural plan for men and women.

Would this apply to Bill Clinton, who introduced a cigar into the body cavity of monica Lewinsky?

MAYBE THE GOOD THAT CAME OUT OF THIS DEBATE IS THAT THE MSM AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE WERE REMINDED THAT THE RACE IS NOT OVER ANBD GUESS WHAT THERE ARE OTHER CANDIDATES IN THE RACE.

I hope we'll see more of what Biden did. Twice.

When our sheep-like media ask "questions" that start with the accepted message, like, "Iran is the biggest threat to the US", or, "Rudy Guiliani is the candidate all other candidates are compared to", that should be challenged, because it isn't true.

When Biden refused to accept that Rudy is somehow the measure for "qualified" or Iran is the preeminent danger, then we can have a real debate.

There's no rule that says you have to accept whatever lie it is they are selling.

Point taken, K. This is how the media frames the debate, and unless we are trained to recognize the hidden message - and smart enough to not be made a party to what amounts to a push poll - then we all become part of the problem.

Every day I'm out there working with progressives and correcting their language. We are so bombarded with the way the media speaks to us, whenever we talk back we augment their frame until it becomes "common knowledge" ... which is really neither. We support and reinforce the oxymoron.

Comparing all the other candidates to Julie Annie is folly of the highest order. If he's really the Republican frontrunner, then things are far sadder in this country than even electing George Bush for a second time would indicate. Biden is an accomplished orator who can speak fluidly and extemporaneously while still remaining on message. When the people who run debates make off-handed statements that assume facts not in evidence, it good to see someone shove their words down their throats and tell the public that a wrong or misleading question is being asked.

You can never get the right answer if you don't ask the right question.

I don't understand why Democrats would accept questions based on conservative "framing".

Why should the Democratic debate turn into a "rebuttal" of the Republican debate?

That's a huge advantage for conservatives.

Iran isn't the preeminent threat to the United States.

Rudy Guiliani is the former mayor of NYC, and that's all he is. He doesn't create the metric by which Democrats are measured.

I don't accept a lot of the basic assumptions on the Right. I think the hysterical bloviating on Iran is a load of crap, and not at all helpful.

I can refute the assumption, and turn the question on it's head. I don't have to "defend" against a script that is fundamentally flawed.

Whatever else Biden does or doesn't do, he knows how to do that, and it's really important.

Hillary, Dodd, Richardson, all sounded like slick talking politicians because kucinich showed he had substance and conviction on every issue.
Dodd has to be a reincarnated used car salesman, he talks so fast and syncopated without any substance. At one point I'm pretty sure I heard him auction off two school buses and a 1987 volvo with 67,00 miles on the odometer.
After the debate, David Gurgin proved he went to the same mumble and patter auction college as Dodd and something about Hillary obviously dominated the stage with her substance. Gurgin not only proved himself a feckless syncophant, but I believe I then heard him auction off a farm in Delonaga, Georgia consisting of 87 acres, three out-buildings and a 1992 Alice-Chalmers hay bailer.

Because, like Ron Paul, the unconventional Kucinich is attempting to be a rational statesman and constitutionalist, and the press likes only crass politicians who delight in being simultaneously natural panderers and provacateurs and who bring out the worse instincts in people. The press thrives on the resulting conflict engendered by these traditional politicians. To hell with the truth, or with well-thought out proposals for moving this country forward.

Kucinich was the one with the least spin and was able to make valuabe points, partly because he was not wasting time attacking Hillary. The question is, would he be like this if he was the front runner ?

Kucinich: ” Tim, we’re here in Philadelphia, the birthplace of democracy. I want to know when this Democratic Congress is going to stand up for the Constitution and hold the president accountable with Article 2, Section 4 an impeachment act. I think that our democracy is in peril and unless the Democrats and the Congress stand up for the Constitution, we are going to lose our country.”

He's got my vote.

Why is Russert in the photo above the article?
Is Russert running for president?

And why wasn't Steven Colbert invited to the debate? He is a better candidate than any of them.

My guess is that 'punkin head' russert is pictured because, if one didn't know better one would think that he held contempt for HRC. After all, when he does an interview with dick cheney, timmy gives the old 'gannon/guckert 2 for 1 special'.

Hillary Clinton is a candidate for the naive.
She'll do and saying anything for their vote and in the end do what's in her best interest. Their only hope is that Hillary's best interest is the same as theirs.

Bush and everyone else knows that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran, is only a figure head and holds no power, the man does not even head the Army and cannot command anyone to go to war. So why does Bush insist on taking what he says seriously.

Iran is very practical, they have never attacked anyone in war and never will. They have stood on the sidelines while Israel kicked the other Arab countries ass and they will continue to do so.

Iran sabers rattles to up the price of Oil, smart, but of course, this is where they derive all their revenues. Joe Biden recognized it right off my friends, 30% of Oil prices is driven by fear.

The only war Iran plans to fight is the Oil war, driving the prices up, up and up again and they and Chavez are completely in lock-step. These men come out and say RIDICULOUS things and the price of oil goes sky high, this is simple economics people.

Iran and Venezuela are winning and we are fools not to recognize their simple juvenile plan. The price of oil goes up and they laugh all the way to the bank, ha, ha, ha, how stupid can this Bush and Hillary people be.

Hillary and Bush look at the world in very simple terms, Iran say, thus Iran will do, how stupid. Obama and Joe Biden are smart to recognize and see the world in much more complex terms.

Hillary Clinton is much like George Bush, no deep thinker here, no analytical minds here, they are too quick to believe what they see and hear.
