AP :

For the second presidential debate in a row, Hillary Rodham Clinton can expect to be everyone's punching bag. This time she'll be on the stage to defend herself.

Republicans ganged up on the New York senator during their debate last week in Florida, knowing that was a good way to energize the GOP base. Democrats are criticizing Clinton because she's the candidate to beat in their own primary.

Lieberman's Left Foot...

Lieberman Light...

Err... Mrs. Clinton.

I, for one, am thankful she's finally been exposed for what she really is.... for Party's sake.

God knows we see what the Republican Party looks like after being hijacked by this cabal...

We don't need Lieberman Light.

Imagine a Ron Paul against Hillary Clinton debate....

Which one would look like Fred Thompson caught in headlights?

That sums up Hillary's "strengths".

When their supposed "bottom tier" candidate can make your "top" candidate look more shallow than a cardboard cutout, it's time to re-evaluate.

Medicine night....for "our girl" who "has the goods" but always seems to leave those "goods" behind to ride and pander whatever's popular for the day to get by.

The Ron Paul/Hillary debate would have to be on
O'Reilly. That way it could be held with Ron Paul's microphone turned off. The only way Hillary could win.
Sort of like Mike Gravel's microphone in the CNN debates.

What's all this Ron Paul nonsense? He and Tancredo are the guys the John Birch Society loves the most...a reactionary racist right wing organization. They let people starve in the streets. Check up Ron Paul and the John Birch Society on google.

Well ... it's about time. The only way to run a successful campaign against Hillary is to treat her like she's the incumbent ... and that means you must be willing to go after her. If you're not willing to do that, you shouldn't even be in the race.

Hillary is a worse corporate whore and a worse panderer than the notorious suck-up Julie Annie, and her positions are even more right wing than his are. She thinks she can play both sides against the middle ... and she takes for granted that she's going to pull a large segment of the women's vote whether she deserves it or not, but her nomination is not a fait accompli, and if she does manage to take it, her election is even shakier.

Half the people at the podium would make a better president than she would, and our founding fathers could rest easy in their graves that our country hadn't declined into creating new "royal families" from which we must pick our leaders.

As far as fighting Hillary for the nomination goes, either get ugly, or get out of the race. You have to go after every single word she's said for the past 15 years, and every vote she's cast, or just return your contibutor's money and drop out of the race.

There's no other way to fight a popular "incumbent". If a candidate is not willing to do that, they should spare us all the drama and just hand her the nomination today.

DEBATE TRANSCRIPT:
Edwards: Others on this stage -- Chris Dodd spoke out very loudly and clearly. But I want to finish this -- others did not. Others were quiet. They went quietly to the floor of the Senate, cast the right vote. But there is a difference between leadership and legislating.

BLITZER: You want to name names?

EDWARDS: No, I think it's obvious who I'm talking about.

BLITZER: It is to me, but it might not be to some of the viewers out there.

EDWARDS: Senator Clinton and Senator Obama did not say anything about how they were going to vote until they appeared on the floor of the Senate and voted. They were among the last people to vote. And I think that the importance of this is -- they cast the right vote, and I applaud them for that. But the importance of this is, they're asking to be president of the United States.

And there is a difference between making clear, speaking to your followers, speaking to the American people about what you believe needs to be done. And I think all of us have a responsibility to lead on these issues, not just on Iraq, but on health care, on energy, on all the other issues.

BLITZER: I'm going to give both of them a chance to respond to you.

F%%$#!!!! The way Wolf Blitzkrieg forced Edwards
to name Obama and Hillary so he could steer the debate to their canned political ads is sickening. Edwards mentioned Dodd and his critisizm of Bush. But did Wolf Blitzkreig go to Dodd. I think if Edwards refused to mention
Obama and Hillary the Wolf man would have gone to them anyway. Hillary got much more than he fair share of the time. This was a CNN ad for Hillary.

CNN knows war is good for them because people watch it. They are touting Hillary and Obama , the war candidates.

Well Hillary fluffed of Iran and immigration somewhat.

Although Obama and Edwards didn't really do that much damage.

Kucinich stayed on message because that's what he believes.

Looking at the debate time clock, that shows the bias and the media trying to cut the field down.

All in all a good night for the GOP.

Last GOP debate attack Hillary.

This Dem debate attack Hillary.

Next GOP debate attack Hillary.

It will probably work.

Then watch the RNC pull out the stops on Obama, Edwards they have already dealt with once before and can easily do so again expect loops from the 04 campaign.

I predict the GOP will hold the White House due to the war drums sounding louder every day. A majority of Americans support an attack on Iran [Iraq all over again].

The Dem's will have increased majorities in the House and Senate.

In a poltical debate in a democracy, why is it an "attack" to point to the dishonesty and hypocracy of an opponent, if it is TRUE. Far better to get Hillary to pander on all sides of all issues in the Democratic debates and on video tape, in hopes that Democtratic voters will see who she really is (can anyone say for sure?) and what an absolute disaster she would be as president.

Hillary qualitifications? She's

a former first lady

former highly compensated WalMart board member

failed health care reformer,

follow-the-leader Senator in a do nothing Congress,

advocate for the war in Iraq and a new war in Iran, and

the darling of every corporate special interest in DC, especially the healthcare/drug, denfense, oil and banking industries.

If Hillary is nominated it is terrible for Democrats and the democratic process (Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton, if elected it is disasterous for the nation and the world.

Heaven help us.

The post-debate chatterfest was reminiscent of a bunch of 14-year-olds, snickering and guffawing over the dirty pictures in daddy's Playboy.

Matthews was virtually impaled on the "immigration" thing, repeatedly declaring Clinton "endorsed" and "supports" NY Governor Spitzer's proposed special drivers' licenses for illegal aliens. His fellow titterers chimed right in, intoning that this will be a "big problem" for Clinton when the Republicans seize the issue.

Fact: She said she thought Spitzer’s plan “makes a lot of sense.” She also said she did not specifically "endorse" Spitzer’s plan but thought he had the "right idea", considering the sticky problem posed by unlicensed, uninsured drivers in NY and the failure of the Feds to deal effectively with immigration. (Those licenses will be clearly marked to show they are not valid federal ID.)

Maybe, MSNBC can rent overseas journalists for these events, competent moderators capable of parsing the English language instead of sculpting what they think will make for the biggest on-camera chortles.

Fact: The maximum recovery for injury to one person is $25,000 and the maximum recovery for injury to two or more persons as the result of one accident is $50,000 under NY's "uninsured motorist" program (MVAIC). Coverage applies ONLY to bodily injury due to accidents OCCURRING IN NY STATE and does NOT cover auto body damage to your car or damage to other property.

Poetic Justice Fantasy (* No talking heads were injured in this fictional dramatization):

"Chris Matthews and Tim Russert, driving back to New York together from Philadelphia following the debate, were struck by an unlicensed, uninsured illegal alien while still in Pennsylvania. Both sustained injuries and their luxury vehicle was totalled, along with thousands of dollars worth of video equipment."

For insurance coverage, see above.

By all means, if you don't like Clinton, don't vote for her... just do it for better reasons than the adolescent maundering of these herding, towel-snapping, pseudo-journalist hacks. They gang-pose, pander and contribute nothing.

She DID have a bad night, but nobody seems to want to admit it. She SAID some strong things, but she avoided answering a few questions and attacked BUSH more than she defended herself.

She's not running against Bush.

Her voting record as a Democrat is appalling, and her health care plan is a give-away to the health insurance industry.

Yeah, Pinger... she probably was unprepared for that question -- but she answered it in plain English, like the answer or not. It just wasn't the 'answer' the goon squad attributed to her. Not defending HRC, just calling out some snarking hacks who also thought it was critical to national security to taunt Kucinich about having once seen what he thought was a UFO.

They had a worse night.

So Kucinich forcefully brings up impeachment to the awkward silence of the media-appointed trio. Dodd demands minor drug users stop being put away to the silence of the media-appiointed trio who want to keep things status quo. Hillary says nothing as usual.

"And I believe we are safer than we were." ...Hillary
Hillary thinks what Bush has done has made us safer. Expect more of the same from her.

That says it all. Hillary thinks torture, war and pork on homeland security has made us safer. Hillary in that sentence has endorsed Bush.

Contrast Kucininch:
"The Patriot Act has undermined civil rights in this country. And as president of the United States, one of my first acts in office will be to move forward to have the Justice Department overturn the Patriot Act as unconstitutional."

Edwards..."
But what this global war on terror bumper sticker -- political slogan, that's all it is, all it's ever been -- was intended to do was for George Bush to use it to justify everything he does: the ongoing war in Iraq, Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, spying on Americans, torture.

None of those things are OK. They are not the United States of America."

Edwards is a guy who won't spread JFK Airport scare stories to justify more pork for Haliburton. I support Edwards.

I think Hillary will deploy Blackwater troops at JFK airport just to help New York Cities failing economy.

The JFK airport story is pandering to the conspiracy theorists. New York has got enough
pork from 9/11

A most estute observation, Cliff. While I don't completely agree with your opinion of Obama, you're dead on about Edwards.

He's EASILY the most electable of the Democrats. He would attract the middle-of-the-roaders, the Repubs with a conscience, and folks from the South - of all races.

Too many people already hate Hillary. IMHO, she belongs at the Republican debates.

This was just another photo op for Hillary.
Obama supported mor e war.

"Primarily because of this war in Iraq, a war that I think should have never been authorized or waged, what we've seen is a distraction from the battle to deal with Al Qaida in Afghanistan. We have created an entire new recruitment network in Iraq that we're seeing them send folks to Lebanon and Jordan and other areas of the region."...Obama

So Obama opposes the war in Iraq so he can fight in Lebanon, Jordan and Afghanistan.
Will that ocst less. Do you think Americans
fighting in Lebanon is better?

Reagan didn't. Reagan pulled out of Lebanon and told the neocons to shove it.

Silly Wabbit ...

One thing we have to worry about is: if and when these wars are over, the radicalized Muslims who are foreign fighters will go home and export the new found ideas and methods there. That's exactly what happened with BinLaden after the Afghan-Russia conflict. The went back home to Saudi Arabia and other countries with a new sense of purpose. Now we have al-Qaeda. Whats Next ?

Hillary is a slippery little eel, riding on her husband's coattails, fooling people into believing that she's the second coming of Bill.

She's as tied to and beholden to Corporate America as Bush has ever been. Rupert Murdoch (owner of Pox News) has held a FUNDRAISER for her!

Hillary Clinton really IS "Bush Lite". If you think otherwise, you're not thinking critically.

If you want genuine change in the direction of this nation, you must register to vote. If you register Democratic or already are a Democrat, cast your vote for Edwards or Obama.

President Hillary will be a disaster for our nation - exactly like 4 more years of Bush.

Besides, she's already too old! We need the vigor of youth to drive and effect the changes we need.

What happened to the Beck Watch that was suppose to be going on here at HUFPO? Someone was streaming him over here today and I couldnt believe what he was saying.
Basically he was saying the UN is trying to take over the world by dumbing down Americans. ( I dont think you can Dumb us down much more that electing Bush) He claimed that the UN uses Moives like Happy Feat, Superman and the new Redford movie he only called GI JOE, but I think its Lions for Lambs as part of their conspiracy to take over the world.

Then he called for people to wake up and remember that America was a country founded by GOD, and the Americans are the Supreme Race who are meant to save the world. Americans should no longer support the UN for anything as they are out to dominate the world.

He rambled about people saying "its just a Movie" is like Democrats saying its just a bill while trying to push the amnesty bill through congress in bits and pieces now, and how its another way the UN is trying to remove our freedoms.
Im telling you, he was totally incoherent, I think he is back on booze and crack the way he sounded.
Oh yeah, he said Political Correctness was invented by the Communist back in the 30's or something like that, and then started saying all university students were Nazi Brown coats and the UN was controlling the University programs, and people need to get away from the extremist left , the UN and the non believers of faith side with the Right.
Ive never heard his radio show before, only seen a couple of his CNN shows. But man, this guy is on crack or something. He really was that rambling and just going all over the place with his Hell Fire and Damnation of Democrats, Universities, a couple movies and the UN. I would have laughed, but knowing he has people who actually believe and support his crack, I was getting a little scared.
