Tonight's Debate: Hillary Is "Everyone's Punching Bag"

For the second presidential debate in a row, Hillary Rodham Clinton can expect to be everyone's punching bag. This time she'll be on the stage to defend herself.

Republicans ganged up on the New York senator during their debate last week in Florida, knowing that was a good way to energize the GOP base. Democrats are criticizing Clinton because she's the candidate to beat in their own primary.

I would say this was not her best day. She was caught supporting drivers licenses for illegals and was tagged as a clear liar with her role in what she suggested as the first lady. I believe she will change her position on illegals and just gave the Republicans a serious issue to bring up for the election.

I think her lack of experience is what is going to bring her down, along with her "Kerry" moments.

I agree. And her campagin using the female card isn't going to help much.

"Those female voters are saying, “Sen. Clinton needs our support now more than ever if we’re going to see this six-on-one to try to bring her down,” Penn told those on the campaign call."

Her claim that it is not up to her to release her Whitehouse memos documenting her so called experience, is pure Clintonian.

Basically she is saying, just take my word for it!!!

I do not think so. The Clintons will say or do anything. Remember Bill's wag of his finger, lying to all of us about not having sex with Monica. Hillary's enabling and saying it was a vast right wing conspiracy.

If by some crazy chance, she wins the nomination, expect more of the same.

America can do better than the Clintons and Bushes. Enough already, time to turn the page.

From an open letter to Senator Clinton on how she is handling her office employees let alone the country you can read the whole letter at http://www.bwcw.blogspot.com/

A President must be a responsible adult who will answer no matter how unpleasant nor political correct. As a Senator you cannot always bring a positive answer to each cases submitted to you but at least you can acknowledge instead of choosing blindly to ignore pleas concerning citizens no matter where they come from. You are not to be blamed for your employee behavior but if you want to run a country at least you should run your office first!

You'd think an unprincipled war enthusiast like Hillary would be loved in today's war-driven society. But it's not enough. No matter how hard she tries to be the same as a man, Hillary is still a woman. And warmongers hate women. Ah, the irony. Too bad, Hillary! Back to the drawing board. Maybe you could try a sex change operation?

I'm anything but a Obama fan, as about everybody on this blog knows. Matter of fact, because of my libertarian beliefs I been accused of being to the 'right' of Atitila the Hun.........so it bothers me to admit to you Obama was the only one, whether I agreed or not, that answered the questions. By gosh, did Hillary even answer one question. Everything was a double-talk and/or just started bringing up Bush's name. But didn't answer the quaetion at hand. And everybody wants to have dialog with Iran, but nobody says what they'll do when Iran DOES get nuclear weapons. Last night was a bunch of nothing. And before the debate, I assumed the president in '09 would be a democrat. But after last night, I realize they don't have much going for them, either. And your guy, Obama, looked like the best of the worst to me. My opinion.

I had my doubts that Hillary could win a general election, after last night I don't think she'll even get the nomination. Neither Edwards or Obama can win a general election soooooo get ready for either Mitt Romney or John McCain to win in '08.

It is really bizarre to me to read all the bile directed at Hillary Clinton on this blog.

Her voting record is practically identical to Obama's.
The most he could pick on her for was her vacillating position about drivers' licences for aliens in New York State. When he picks on her vote on the Iran resolution - which was a disasterous one - he would have a bit more moral authority on the subject if he had bothered to vote against it.

I can see why candidates competing for the prize of the democratic nomination would start to lob barbs at Clinton - and of course fat old Russert sees a chance to make some news - but all of the bile from people who post on HuffPost and other liberal blogs seems to be a bit nutty. It could be written by any number of representatives of the Republican party.

Ever heard of the DLC? Read up:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Leadership_Council

The Democratic~Leadership~Council is a non-profit corporation that argues that the United States Democratic Party should shift away from traditionally populist positions.

Democrats who adhere to the DLC's philosophy often call themselves New Democrats. (Sounds familiar, like New Conservatives or NeoCons)

The DLC gave strong support for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Prior to the war, Will Marshall (**) co-signed a letter to President Bush from the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) endorsing military action against Saddam Hussein. During the 2004 Primary campaign the DLC attacked Presidential candidate Howard Dean as an out-of-touch liberal because of Dean's position of only pursuing Osama Bin Laden instead of invading Iraq.

** Will Marshall is one of the founders of the New Democrat/DLC movement, which aims to steer the US Democratic Party toward a more right-wing orientation. Project for the New American Century: Letter Signatory

Democrats Must Adopt A Centrist Course

By Al From
"...And while Democrats benefited from an energized party base, the key to the victory was in the contested center..."
"...That's why we should all be wary of intra-party arguments that Democrats did well simply by "fighting" or maximizing partisan differentiation from Republicans..."

One thing I like most about Edwards is that he's very articulate, and unafraid to debate what he believes in. He demands change and holds a light to hypocritical politicians like Clinton. He is even quick to acknowldege his own imperfections - something Hillary could NEVER bring herself to do. He's not timid and that's what we need.

I like Obama as he is very articulate and is pretty much on the same page as Edwards and he really does resonate with this sense of hope that the others can't seem to convey as well. His biggest obstacle has been his shying away from confrontation despite being in such disagreement over substantive issues with Hillary. Last night he seemed to display some of Edwards' fight so I think he's evolving into a better candidate.

Hillary has no substantive position on anything. She's like George W at the debates. She evades questions, won't take a position, tries to keep on message, and actually says NOTHING. She is the worst kind of politician - EXACTLY what I was hoping we had a chance to move away from this election.

Democrats have been "awake" since January this year and the Breck Girl has been stuck in the polls since ... don't waste your vote ...

As for Barack Hussein, he reminds of that song: "I see your true colors ..." ;-))

I agree with Hume's list of preferable candidates but as a practical matter, the only way to beat Hillary AND win the presidency is the Dynamic Duo of Edwards/Obama.

I could probably state the bulk of my reasoning in 250 words but who would read it?

Oh! Don't take my list as ranked by electability. In fact, it is almost the opposite of that. It is based on issues.
