I Like ItI Don’t Like It

At last night's debate between Democratic presidential candidates in Philadelphia, NBC's Tim Russert asked a flustered Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich whether he'd seen a UFO.

Here's a transcript and YouTube video of their exchange:

RUSSERT: Shirley MacLaine writes in her new book that you sighted a UFO over her home in Washington state, that you found the encounter extremely moving, that it was a triangular craft, silent and hovering, that you felt a connection to your heart and heard directions in your mind. Now, did you see a UFO?

KUCINICH: Uh, I did. And the rest of the account. It was an unidentified flying object, OK? It's like, it's unidentified. I saw something. Now, to answer your question. I'm moving my, and I'm also going to move my campaign office to Roswell, New Mexico, and another one in Exeter, New Hampshire, OK? And also, you have to keep in mind that Jimmy Carter saw a UFO, and also that more people in this country have seen UFOs than I think approve of George Bush's presidency.

Dennis should have answered this way:

"With all do respect, that is a STUPID question and has nothing to do with real issues affecting Americans. You give me the least amount of time to speak as it is, and when you do ask me a question it's about UFO's?! This debate is a joke!"

I'm voting for Kucinich. Every time I listen he makes the most sense...

You never know what you might see at Shirley McClaines house. She probably fed him a Mushroom pizza.

Russert pulled out this stupid question simply to paint Kucinich as a far-out nut.

This was his pathetic way of dealing with Kucinich's call for impeachment of Bush and Cheney. None of the other candidates, and certainly not Russert or Williams had the guts to even address this statement by Kucinich.

So Russert starts talking about outer space.

Russert is sitting on top of the world - watching everyone else - and just getting fatter and stupider.

The author of this piece must be a rabid right winger. Kucinich's subtle satire was lost on her. The wing nuts are notoriously dull witted.

Kucinich is a great deal saner than most.
You know what's really crazy? Killing a million people to steal their oil, torture,
building a huge data base and spying on everyone, serial lying, cheating, and stealing. Building another generation of nuclear weapons is crazy.

The fact is that Dennis Kucinich is the only one willing to go to the mat to stop all this.
A vote for Clinton is a vote for a continuation of Bush's militaristice policies and government of, by and for the corporations.

If we want change, we are going to have to vote for it.

I love this guy! He's pushing for impechment of the Bush administration. If that's the case, I don't care if he invites the One-Eyed, One-Horned Flying Purple People Eater over for dinner! Heck, maybe he'd serve Bush and Cheney as the main course!

Better someone who has seen a UFO than someone who has seen WMDs that do not exist.
The MSM is cackling over the UFO thing all day diminishing all his ideas regarding healthcare, war, nuclear non-proliferation etc. It is 'Al Gore invented the internet' all over again.... Sigh

Kucinich can't be bought.

And that's why NBC/GE(major profiteers in the "war on terra")had their 'lil trained monkey Russert pose an incredibly silly question which has nothing to do with the serious issues facing this country and the rest of the world.

It was already in the air when they excluded Gravel from the "debate".How very Un-American and how very Corporate.

They don't want anyone messing with their blood soaked profits.

Praise cheeses,I'm not buyin' what their sellin'.

The righties might want to hammer him, but as much as I love the guy....let's be real: he wasn't going to win anyway.

That question that Russert asked Kucinich had no validity. Since the beginning of time humans have pondered over what else could or may exist beyond our limited sphere. He was probably musing aloud, maybe asking a "what if" question and someone overheard. Kucinich is probably a person who will not allow himself to be confined within set parameters, thinks outside the box and has an open mind to new ideas. All good qualities in a leader.

The man has a sense of humor. At least he's not smirking as he talks about the prospect of WWIII.

As we discovered in 2001, a sense of humor is not a strong predictor of a competent President.
